The Best Landscape Photography Tripod? (part 2) - Benro Mammoth

I previously reviewed the Explorer tripod and concluded that while it was an excellent tripod, but not for me. After that review, I ended up purchasing this Benro Mammoth, after using it for a few months, here are my thoughts on this tripod

I hope you're looking at the Benro Theta Max. I did the kickstarter on it and I'm so anxious to get my hands on it!

Great video, Spencer! I'm thinking about picking one up for my upcoming trip to the Grand Canyon. I already have a Benro Bat, and I use the biggest Mach3 everyday for work. I've been looking for one with a leveling head for a while now.

Its a pretty great tripod! Just sometimes the weight can be a bit much if going on long hikes… but im a lazy shooter most of the time so it works great!

@@spencerlee808 I get it.i have done several hikes in the mountains with my Mach3 and geared head which is about 2lbs heavier than the setup you have there. It's taxing for sure! But sometimes that's the price we have to pay to get the shot we want.

I'm looking at this tripod as well so I appreciate the review. I was wondering however, whether or not you considered the Benro Tortoise 34CLV. It has a leveling base as well, goes pretty much just as high but is significantly lighter and more compact?

I was looking at that one as well, but thought it was 6lbs, whereas the mammoth is listed as 5. Unless I'm looking at the wrong model
