    This is such a great tutorial thank you. I do find that my first knot with the right over left and left over right twists and distorts the beads before I can finish and tighten the second knot. Have you and tips on how I can stop this please?

  • @creativefnk

    @creativefnk

    Жыл бұрын

    Hi Suki, its hard but you want to try and keep tension on the first knot. If you are struggling you can try and put something in between (like a pen) so that you can move the first knot down first before bringing the second knot down. It is a little fiddly but will get better with practice! Thanks for watching

    What do you recommend using when working with 1mm beads to hide the knot ? Thanks

  • @creativefnk

    @creativefnk

    Жыл бұрын

    Unfortunately 1mm beads are very small to hide a knot under! Use a smallest possible thread (maybe 0.5) and try and slip it under. Otherwise use a bead with a slightly bigger hole and pop under there 🌻

    Thank you! I used this knot and three months later my bracelets are still holding strong! lol Do you have any recommendations for covering the knot when the beads you're using are too small?? I've been using a round crimp cover.

  • @creativefnk

    @creativefnk

    7 ай бұрын

    Glad you enjoyed my video and your bracelets are strong!! Yes a crimp cover is probably the best option if the beads are too small to fit the knot under. Or a feature bead with a bigger hole. 🌻

    You need to gently pull more on the knot. It has a jelly like consistency and needs to fuse together in the knot so gently pull, release, pull etc a few times as you feel it getting tighter. Good luck 👍

    I use this and it works really well, thank you! I just wanted to ask if this will hold well for a long time even without glue? I see a lot of tutorials that mention adding a dot of glue, but I'd rather skip that step as the glue might go on the beads. 😅

  • @creativefnk

    @creativefnk

    7 ай бұрын

    Yes, if the knot is secure and locked in place you won’t need glue. 💫 it’s more personal preference and some like the glue as as extra security layer 🌻

  • @creativefnk

    @creativefnk

    7 ай бұрын

    Yes this would work, although it depends on if you want them to remove them easily? This is more a tight secure knot. Have you thought about a sliding knot bracelet? Something like these m.kzread.info/dash/bejne/moR1xbOzdZO9aKQ.html&pp=ygUVU2xpZGluZyBrbm90IGJyYWNlbGV0 m.kzread.info/dash/bejne/o35mrKqogtHOc6g.html&pp=ygUVU2xpZGluZyBrbm90IGJyYWNlbGV0 Good luck 💫

    @creativefnk Thanks so much for your reply and suggestions. The yarn i-cord bracelets are pretty stretchy and worn similar to a bangle, so a solid knot works well for them because they can easily fit over a fist, and I don't want them coming undone. However, for other bracelets that have little to no give and look better worn more fitted, the sliding knot would be ideal. I'll check out those links. Thanks again!

I am very new and I am trying to learn how to tie the best knot. Any guidance would be great - thanks

  • @creativefnk

    Hiya! Yes, we place the right side cord on top of the left, wrap it around one time, and then place the left side cord on top of the right and twist that around three times. These elastic knots can be challenging! Most important thing is to gently pull the knot tight to lock it in place. There are so many variations to tie a good elastic knot, so you will work out what works best for you. I have other videos as well showing slight variations! m.kzread.info/dash/bejne/ip2fxtKwdcXTndI.html m.kzread.info/dash/bejne/pX6quNGmpbSeYqg.html Good luck! 💫🌻

    I think what’s confusing me is I see when u put the right over the left - then you say “left over right” where are you putting the left over right? Then next step is wrapping 3 times - I’m missing something because the knot doesn’t stay at all… (yikes)

    It might be your elastic. It’s worth grabbing a good quality stretch cord. What size are you using? The bigger it is the harder it is to lock it in place. Try dropping down a size (if using 1mm try using 0.7mm) and really focus on working the knot gently, pulsing pressure and trying to pull some elastic through the knot to lock it in place. Good luck 🤞 🌻

    Oh no 🙈 It can be tricky! It’s all in the pulling the cord after you’ve tied the knot. Pull gently and try and pull some cord through to lock it in place. I find the bigger cords a little harder as well, what size are you using?

    @@creativefnk The elastic is 0.6mm I used the knot twice now (if that makes sense, English isn't my first language) and it seems to hold! But I'm still scared that it'll just rip while I'm out or something 😂

    I don’t like wasting cord either! You do need to have a little wastage with these as you need to have enough to hold while you pull the knot. As you get more experienced you can cut it shorter if you can do your knot with smaller ends 🌻

    What size cord are you using? Try a smaller one and the tightness is all in the gentle pulling after you have tied the knot. Be patient 🤞 good luck 🌼

    Too fast. When teaching, it should be slow.

    No it wasn't too fast. The 2nd time the knot was shown, it was slow and easy to follow.

    Oh, it’s a basic square knot only that you have to do additional round before locking it.

    Yes, more connections inside the knot is best for elastic cord, this stuff can be tricky! 💫
