Brilliant tutorial. As much as I have always vaguely understood what I wanted, I never felt quite able to get there as it seemed like it should be a complex task but with this, you have simplified that process and explained it superbly. Thank you! 🙂
Great stuff Serge!
Great video, Thanks Serge
An easier way to handle the gradient filter with the sky is to first select the sky, and then use the intersect function to add the gradient or whatever other tool. That will limit the tool to just the sky. So instead of going small and then big, do the opposite. Same results but it's a bit easier. Love your overall look. I learned most of my post processing from your videos. Thank you so much.

wow I learned something I never used the intersect feature great tip tks for sharing I will be using it in my next videos. Tks Brian!

@@SergeRamelliPhotography Or, crazy idea here, you could just use "Select Sky" to just select the sky without the the unnecessary intersection steps. By itself, it does exactly what you wanted - selecting the sky, leaving everything else alone.

For what it's worth, it doesn't matter whether you do the linear gradient or the sky first.

@@TheZagnut69 no, because the entire point is to make a specific section of the sky, in this case the top of it darker

yeah I liked your video👍 atb
You are are a rockstar
Hey! Je vous découvre sur cette vidéo et j'adore votre énergie!
Fantastic video!! When it comes to the sky I find it easier to mask by selecting the Sky, then clicking the three dots next to the name of the mask, and then clicking Intersect Mask With "Linear Gradient". Intersecting will continue to refine and create masks within masks. So in this case the gradient only impacts the preselected sky. Anyway, this was a great tutorial and taught me many things. Cheers!
