There are so many great games to choose from! KoC 2 is a great pick as well. We were a bit late to the import scene and have played many games but haven’t sunk our teeth into all of them yet. So, KoC is a bit like The Wild Rings for us and can’t wait to play it in depth for review!

That is really our problem. There are a lot of great wrestling games and we want to show them off to everyone.

I started collecting import wrestling games 2 years ago. I was sleeping one night a KZread was playing in the background. I woke up to a video that read "The evolution of wrestling games." it changed my life. I own almost every wrestling game. I'm missing some FP games and some of the PC engine ones because I don't own the console. I own every game on here, though

I just had PlayStation 2 Fire pro wrestling really enjoyed playing that game with all my promotions all together and then I work with with my best friend

Can never go wrong with Fire Pro Wrestling. It is the most versatile game series out of them all. Here at VGWA it is on the top of our list of favorite wrestling games. Just for some reason Cobrettie is better at it. Thanks for the comment and more videos will be coming soon.

Toukon Restsuden does get left out of the conversation a lot. We appreciate you keeping up with our channel and commenting! Great taste! We are late to the import scene and getting to experience these games for the first time. We have played many (a few hours each, there over 200) and now going through reviewing them with more in depth gameplay. I can’t wait to get to that era! (Just now entering the 16-bit era)

15:32 Technically its an updated "Pro Wrestling" from 8 bit NES. "Pro Wrestling" is the Grandfather of Fire-Pro.

Great thing about video game wrestling is most of them are made from other wrestling games from the past. Just don’t believe the AEW game is like the classic N64 games. Thanks for the comment and keep watching for more videos.

I feel like I saw Johnny Ace in Number 4, along with Dr. Death. Interesting game there.

It is great budget Saturn import title! I have actually been surprised by how many Johnny Ace appearances we have seen. I was not in the import scene for games or wrestling at the time and he will forever be the dynamic dude to me! Well, one half of the dynamic dudes!

Probably being an Japanese OG Xbox exclusive makes it a bit obscure Luckily recently we found a manual to purchase so we can figure out how to play (FAQs are always good, but occasionally miss things) Thanks for watching our video and we appreciate the comment! Also, look forward to an announcement for “Pro Wrestling Video Game Legend” book when it is upload it to archive.org, it covers Japanese wrestling games 1985 to 2000 (we are about 120 pages out of 200-ish scanned)

FP didnt show up because if it was allowed this would just be top 10 fire pro games lol

For imports, yeah there could be a chance the whole list could be FP 😂. We were late to import wrestling scene, so Fire Pro does have an advantage of not totally learning a new game and just learning the new tweaks. Great if you like FP, but if you don’t… we’ll pretty much all FP games are FP. What’s your favorite non FP/KoC import? Thanks for watching and commenting!

The only knock on VPW2 is the licensing of the other promotions outside of AJPW

I believe you missed "Champion Wrestler" on the PS1, very similar to FIre Pro.

There are so many great options, actually we are playing the OG Champion wrestler (switch and TG-16 versions) for our next review. But the PS1 version is pretty different! The King of Coliseum Red, Green and 2 are pretty good imports as well! (Hybrid wrestler, 3-4 Bodukan… picking only 10 is hard!) Thanks for watching and commenting!

And in Jikkyo Max Voltage there's a match with electrified barbwire ropes and explosives outside the ring!

The more I learn about that game, the more I love it. I actually bought it with out knowing anything about it and it keeps on surprising me! Loved it so much, I had to get a box version with the manual 😂 Thanks for watching the video and commenting!

@vgwaworld I love import wrestling games and your videos are great! I'm surprised Gekitou Burning Pro Wrestling wasn't part of the honorable mentions, that's a great game, have you played? I actually use a Retron 3 to play because it can play the super famicom carts. I imported a ps2 from Japan though. And the n64 ones....well....I'm sure you can guess how I'm able to play those ones 🤣

Where is KOC2, All-Star Pro Wrestling II and IIII, and ALL Japan King of Souls on PS1. Those are all better than a few you have on your list.

Just found your channel, pretty cool. Gotta severely disagree with The Wild Rings. I've spent some time with that game and it sucks. There's a sharp initial impression that is "good" but it wears thin rather quick. I'm surprised someone likes it (compared to what else is available) because it isn't very deep or fun. A better inclusion (imho) would've been THE PRO WRESTLING. It's what the US PS1 Smackdown games were based on except TPW is a tad slower and has a bunch of match types. It's very good.

THE PRO WRESTLING is an awesome game and we can’t wait to cover it. Wild Rings has its faults and we could easily point them out, but Cobrettie is a sucker for these games. It was more tongue in cheek, but here is my view on it I think there is a time and place for it all. I lean less is more. A match here and there is ok, a whole promotion based off it gets repetitive though (currently thinking about the barn house/bingo indies here in Texas) I’ll check out Chono vs Onita, also you might want to check out the most memorable matches of the 80s video (picks from us and other content creators), my pick was Piper vs Valentine dog collar match.
