Fascinating: I love your set-up. Thanks for explaining it so clearly. You have some great kit in your set up! Like you, I have a Mac and PC set up too: I've got a Logitech K780 keyboard (which hasn't needed charging in a year!!) which at the touch of a button allows connection to both the Mac and the PC, but I recently bought Synergy software which allows me to not only use the keyboard without any button clicking to swap from Mac to PC but also use my beautiful (and inexpensive) Jelly Comb mouse on both screens: the mouse pointer glides effortlessly from one system to the other. I've fixed the desktop wallpapers so that the image flows elegantly from one screen to the other.

not only do we have the same life, we have similar specs on our computers. The ideal solution would be to switch with ctrl shift alt, tho, I'm not sure how much code that would take...

I've been searching for KVMs for over a week, ordered a TESmart and failed to get it working. Lots of shortcomings in the under $100 KVM options (low odds you'll end up with one that'll work well or work longer than a year), and minimal data on the high-end models. Never heard of these kinds of monitors until now. This seems promising Thanks!

It is absolutely fucking stupid we have to do this. Apple does this on purpose. I've looked at dozens of videos for KVM switches with macbook pros and PC's, and I think they're all fake. Like HOW did they get this to work? They're obviously fake. I'll be returning my macbook pro and just build on my PC to make it beefier, and I'll just use my PC to work and play games. Fuck apple. I'm done with them.

spent a week trying to see what the ideal monitor setup is for programming. I'm going to start a CS course in fall and want a good setup. your monitor setup is it I think! I'm almost convinced I'll use those monitors but I would love 1/ if you went through your thought process on those monitors and why you went one vertical and one horizontal. 2/ why did you not chose a 4k monitor? 3/ why not an ultrawide? 4/ why not 32inch 4k monitor? think you are my role model and someone i aspire too! thanks for reading this

    1. They were given to me by work LOL so not much of a choice. I like vertical since I usually put up code on the vertical monitor and it allows me to see more. 2. Tried 4k in the past but a lot of apps didn't support the scaling properly so they looked weird. Caused me more problems than benefits but this was like ~3 years ago, things might be better now :) 3/4: These are pretty optimal for productivity imo, but I also use these monitors for gaming and prefer to just have 27 inch (my next purchase is swapping out one of my lenovos for a 27inch 144hz monitor).

dell have come out with a 27inch 4k monitor that on specs DESTROYS p27-20h. They have a sale on which is basically only $100 more expensive than this outdated model. Please could you share your thoughts, if you was to buy two monitors right now which ones would you go for?

I've had a 4k monitor in the past and personally didn't like it. I felt like a lot of apps weren't properly scaled/compatible with the res and it just caused way too many issues (esp with games). If you've tried 4k in the past and fw it then I would say it's a pretty good choice, since it seems to have everything else the lenovos have !

@@andrewhu7214 hey thanks for replying! from your other comment you mentioned scaling was an issue but times have changed in 3 years, mac m1 has no problem with 4k so I think I'll get a 4k instead of 2k. I also don't game. really appreciate you replying and love your content. can't wait for more uploads!

It is more easy to have two cables and just switch in the monitor the HDMI 1 or 2, and with linkchain connect as many as you want.
