Been installing the ColorVu cameras since the day the Gen 1 were launched and they’ve always impressed however the new Gen 2 are that bit better and we also install the latest 8MP version too which are great but I wouldn’t say a massive difference in image quality but then there’s not a massive difference in price either

Can you please do some test in these cameras where the human subject is at a bit of distance so we can judge the image clarity and FOV and also in running mode, so we can see how the image looks when a possible intruder may be running/in motion ?

I've just bought 3 x HIKVISION DS-2CE79U1T-IT3ZF cameras with varifocal as they are easier to adjust the angle for the setting. Would never buy a fixed angle camera as it's too restrictive.Just paired it with an AOC and POC recorder. I also prefer old school analogue which can run POC and AOC over them .

Hi I have a hikvision ds7208hthi-k with 4 colour vu 8mp cameras. And there is one camera which goes off every morning randomly “no video” and then comes back on randomly after a few hours. Before it goes off watching the playback the camera goes grainy and dark. And also when it’s back on it’s like It is struggling. And it’s the same camera that does this? All connected via cat cables using balons and a 4 way power supply. Any suggestions to why this is happening ? Would really appreciate some advise. Thank you

Try swapping cameras to the plugs and cables to find if it's them or the device.

I had my cameras working fine until i changed my router. .Now im stuck getting my IP cameras to work 😞

Don’t forget though in a dark test the TVPlayer screen will act as a backlight

Model number / specs of this camera and a price for 3x turrets with DVR. PoE / IP not necessary.

Would you go for POE every time rather than analogue ? I just need a fairly basic but ok system over a small area. What would you advise? Preferably well under £1000

Not always IP. If your only consideration is price then analogue is cheaper. But the IP systems are far better overall.

Yes, it's the HikConnect app. You can also get an NVR that takes a sim card

I have colorvu and for some reason an error came up when I was playing with the image setting. Error 0xffffff. It’s not letting me change the setting anymore. Does anyone know what that means and what I should do??

I can't help with this without being infront of it and seeing what wrong. My first thing would be to reset the camera. there is a button on camera body under the SIM card cover.

I like the 4MP turrets over the 8MP bullets. They look nice on a domestic property. If cost is no issue then 8MP is great. Just have to consider all options. I guess there will soon be a 8MP turret

I prefer covert cams however apparently if your filming public areas even from private property because it's CCTV it's classified as carrying out surveillance so it comes under the data protection act and you need signs that your recording but of course your then warning criminals to wear hoods and face masks.

It can be cracked if it's using WiFi or has webgui. I have crafted a tool in perl that can crack 100 percent of camera passwords. Best policy is to run it locally do not put your cams online because no matter how many times you change password it will still get cracked in a matter of seconds.

5mp is a turbo system. Not IP. It’s a different system entirely.

hikvision doesn’t work on imac os x ! safari doesn’t support the plugin ! be warned !! you won’t be able to view your cameras on an imac computer !!

Hi Paul, thanks for watching our video and taking the time to comment. We moved into providing CCTV for our customers purely from demand. We were asked to install systems often enough that we decided to go on some training courses and learn about CCTV. This was a few years ago now and has gone on to become a large part of our business. When our customers trust us to come into their homes for electrical works, they wanted us back again to do the CCTV and alarms too. I don't blame them really, its hard to find a trustworthy, reliable tradesman. CCTV is one of those areas that can have a large price and very little trust in the providers. We do not get involved with other peoples systems and do not call ourselves CCTV specialists, but we have a very good package that we know inside-out and offer as an service.

Some of us see the price of supply and fit very reasonable. Especially when we are in a position where loosing 3/4 of a day in downtime running wires drilling holes into our premises would not be cost effective for us. Poor people who put down decent trades people like you because you think its worth running your mouth saying you could fit it on the cheap are ten to the penny. Good job guys, great demo of the colour night vision im sold. Thanks for taking the time to show this product.
