Yeah, I'll assume that the management there underestimated the amount of people that will go there for the event. They should know that it was a weeb weekend, what with Anime Expo happening right at the same time. But I will also fault holo management not impressing upon them the rabid fanbase that will show up for holo anything. They really shoulda known better. Last but not least, they should have put a limitnon how many a single person could buy. Like there were people buying 10 items, that are now being sold on ebay. Like WTH?! That one was just inexcusable.

Where they already know a bunch of things, like merch limit, expected amount of people that will show up to events, etc. In this case, this is the first collab they do with pure "normie" side of things. So a bunch of things that their previous partners knew this one had no idea. On top of this being a somewhat question mark in terms of people showing up, so Hololive had little power to impose conditions like "restricting merch sales". Restricting merch sales per person is a revenue cut for the venue so Hololive cannot go and impose that, they could have warned the venue, but then it is up to them whether they decide to do it or not. Here is to Hololive learning and other venues learning.

I think Cover was not prepared for how big the reception will be from the fans. Hololive is practically a newcomer in this baseball sponsorship thingy. EDIT: Apparently it could be the MLB is the one who is not prepared at the reception of this Hololive collab. Everything is still a speculation at this point but I subscribe to this line of thought EDIT: What I meant by not prepared is in terms of number of tables, merch prepared and staff to man the tables. i saw that the table only that one small tent (could be wrong) And I thought, that is far from enough. Then I read on X that someone is actually still queuing for merch while the game already started

Hmmm... Next World Cup is in the US and Cover is opening a US office. Would be really cool NGL, though them going to FIFA World Cup that quickly is probably impossible (especially since it would require collaborating with national teams managed by national football federations rather than clubs/franchises). Going for Champions League or even starting smaller with Europa League would be really cool as well. It would probably be easier to get an agreement with a club team rather than a national team anyway.

Regular attendance at a typical Dodgers game is 42000. So, it just translates to 16% of people being there exclusively for Hololive. But still it is a sizeable number; we are talking about 7000-8000 people here.

You'd have to hunt down similar - unattractive matchup + friday night + holiday weekend to get a better idea how hololive impacted it. seeing the merch line and the drone show attendance makes me think it was a pretty significant hololive presence.
