In my experience, this gun is the best only in one situation: tagging the mobs around the scorchbeast queen when there are lots of other players around (and thus the mobs drop fast). If there's no hurry to kill the enemies, there are better guns, whether you use a slow-firing weapon (the plasma caster) or a fast-firing weapon.

@@robertberahovich6747 That's the exact time you don't want to be using that gun. In that situation you want a high fire rate gun with no spin up. Explosive lmg for example. The only time a B/E gatling gun is going to be useful is for killing weak mobs and farming ammo in daily ops.

@@geoffrogers7590 ?? Gatling gun has no spin-up. When the mobs are dropping fast you need VATS and a single-shot ballistic weapon, e.g. a rifle or the Gatling gun.

Also excellent for events like Line in the sand when you can target and pick off mobs from afar. I use a Prime Zealots Explosive gatling gun there with VATS and subjectively is seems to hit much more often than the VATS chances would indicate. A headshot is instant kill.

For players still leveling, don’t underestimate the value of carrying around an M79 grenade launcher and like 6 or 7 grenades. It only weighs 6pb & is Great for firing into crowded buildings, or if you’re getting swarmed, marsupial jumping and firing down below. Plus the homing crit is super useful for getting an explosive in tight spaces. You can craft them at level 15 & you buy the plan at raider for pretty cheap and it’s a nice utility option.

Tip: You can get up to +700 fuel in a normal 8 minutes daily Ops run if you save fuel by headshooting enemies with vats, If you go alone and go Just killing everything you might get more

Can confirm, regularly farm uplink DO for fuel. Not even bothering with head shots, just hip firing and I walk out of there with easily 1k+ more fuel than what I started with.

You seriously make the most useful videos on F76 out there. Keep up the amazing work.

To he honest it's my furious ultracite gatling, u might have a different take on this but that thing has served me well for years. It's ammo is super easy to farm in mass if you farm scorched queen and have ammo perks. And the perks on that thing are so good it kills things In a matter of milliseconds. And if your a power armor hound like me and can't leave your suit and use power user 3, u get over 999 rounds per ultracite fusion core. Once you stack up to 60 of those things(which mind you is very very easy) you become a unstoppable demon. And all to think I found that thing in some guys camp for a few hundred caps.

you had a video about a vampire 50 cal a while back. i still keep one on every character. it's my favorite "i just got killed" gun. it isn't the best damage ever, but you're unstoppable with it. i got them all, explosive, FF, LVC, love them.

Thanks man, I appreciate you posting this video I just got myself a AAFFRFR Flamer and your right it’s beast of a gun. You’ve also helped me with completing my heavy collection now I know which is idea for certain situations I can make use of them.

Small correction. You can be interrupted in 3rd person while using the shredder. It's still better because 1st person is buggy. For example, there is a delay when you sprint and sometimes your hits won't register.

FYI twisted muscles with shredder minigun does work along with anything that boosts strength. Stabalized in power armor also works. Party boy/girl, solar powered, radicool, stacking strength legendary perk card, + strength on gear. It is insane how much damage you can do with minigun shredder if you build it and I dont have anti armor only bashing on mine. Wtb anti armor bashing minigun lol. Vampire and AA do work on shredder. My minigun damage ticks are doing 2x ++ damage of yours in video. I can only imagine if I can get my hands on an anti armor basher minigun.

Thanks Mr. Turtle. I don’t run bashing perk to make my shredder mini gun kill. It seems to work well. My gun also doesn’t have the bashing second star. It still works really well in situations like Radiation Rumble.

I like the laser pepper shaker. I have bloody and vampire versions. The kneecapper/cripple effect is just to much fun. And as a solo player its a life saver

Pepper shaker (especially Quad) is great for quickly crippling and crowd controlling fast moving targets, like ghouls in Radiation Rumble or Deathclaws in the Mothman Equinox. Even a Mirelurk queen will lose its will to fight when crippled.

Great video! As far as the final line in it - that’s my problem with heavy guns, I can’t choose just two. I have a stash full that I rotate in and out based on my mood. ❤️🤣

Final word is just an amazing .50 that everyone can get. I cannot recommend it enough for new players that just hit level 45 - 50. That gun can solo both Earl and the Queen if you have a halfway decent heavy gunner build and it will rip through mobs like they are made of paper. Best named legendary weapon in the game by far.

My most used gun is the Ultracite Gatling Laser. The amount of ultracite cores you get with the right perks combined with Power User make it extremely ammo efficient. Just the best all arounder for me. Wish I could get good rolls on it. Don't think I've ever tolled an AA version. Gatling Plasma I'll pull out for Earl or SBQ when she lands. Gauss Minigun is just too expensive ammo-wise.

Got a two shot UGL because Light Show. I built around 30 ultracite cores over a year ago + the ones I got from daily ops gave me over 40 of them. Finally ran out of them a week ago.

I dropped a Vampires 50 cal. There’s not much that can kill me before I kill it. Scorched Earth is fun. I just stand in front of the Queen and shoot.

With the ts autogrenade launcher you should equip grenadier and demolition expert for much better damage.

Instead of prefixing item names with 'Zz ' you can use [square brackets] around the name for the same effect, with a tidier look that also stands out better when re-sorting the list,

Nice video as always. My main is a bloodied heavy and I gotta say, I love my VE LMG, that's my day to day gun. I have a BE Flamer for tougher situations and it's awesome, it is a heavy sniper for sure, although I tend to use a lot of my VE Gat Plasm for survivability when facing bosses. LMG is my go to gun tho, I love them, too bad Bethesda doesn't give us a skin for it.

Hey I was wondering if you could recommend a video on your type of build. I'm was going for rifles but ammo is a pain 😫 and they're not as fun as lmgs so I ended up switching to them. Idk how to set up my perks mainly 😅 or where to farm for good weapons, heavies seem so rare

Even if it’s not the best I just love using the Gatling laser. The concept of “just take 4 laser rifles and tape them together” amuses me. And am a big fan of the steady unrelenting pew pew of the charging barrels. Especially if you get a +25% fire rate with it. Charging barrels essentially never runs out of ammo it feels

i have one of the old legacy "strikebreaker" miniguns. it haz a similar paintjob to the gold minigun from atom shop, but says "strikebreaker" where the AS version says "lucille." it is level 35 and wasn't legendary, i just used it for decoration. when make you own legendries came out, i rolled it. vampires bash damage.... i forget the 3rd star. it's great! miniguns do so much more damage with no bullets in grinder mode.

I daily an Exec E .50cal its great for normal mobs & sheepy & I pull out my Bloody gat plas for bosses, got me a AA ffr plasma caster & all that other stuff...but the most fun Ive had is putting all that away & running around punching things with my tesla bracers arm mod. Its almost too much fun!

I have the same plasma caster and it is a boss for Vats

Glad u just made this, I been addicted to this game for some reason and I love to use heavy guns since u don't need to reload every five seconds

I've been using my AA flamer for...um...everything. I'm not apologizing.

I've been playing this game for over two years now and quite regularly watch (and listen) to AT 🐢 because he makes a lot of sense. There's a lot going on in this game and many more ways to get more damage/power/attributes etc and this can be really confusing. It also reminds me that whilst Fallout 76 is great value for money the only real way to get "ranked up" is to get Fallout 1st.. Without it you just can't keep your weight limit down (this must be such a struggle for most players). It's a shame they don't allow scrapboxes on a much cheaper monthly sub. Great video.. As always 👍

I’ve noticed there’s spots around the map where vats just doesn’t work. For instance there’s a spot behind Morgantown airport between the building and hedge where vats doesn’t register for some reason. 🤷‍♂️

If the name of that heavy gun you're selling doesn't begin with "Vampire's" then I won't pay 1/20th of what you're asking. If you're dead, nothing else matters

Vampire is definitely my #1 prefix of choice. Then AA and 2-shot for launchers. Stay 20% hp all day everyday!

explosive gatling plasma, though i wish i had explosive laser gun. Although, two shot auto grenade launcher is really good in vats. For some reason it will one shot in vats but two shot out of vats.

from all the presented weapons i would like the one from 9:05 "The goat launcher"

I know this video is like a year old but I've been building the shredder lately. I got an AA Bash mini and it's got enough range to headshot Earl. I 100% recommend using PA as it drastically increases how long you can use the shredder without running out of AP and also increases your damage. You can also use the stabilized mod for armor pen if you don't have an AA shredder. You can be an absolute tank build and still destroy areas like west tek or some bosses. 10/10 should at least try it.

Side note, dont use bloody mess, melee damage mods or heavy weapon damage mods. They won't help. Basher and stabilized and you're done. Only use AA or vampires but bash is a MUST

I didn´t knew about the shredder in third person view. But I found out that, if you are spinning the shredder and tab out and go back into the game again, you don´t have to hold the left mouse button

Clear advantage of bloodied is the bonus XP we get from Intel increase from Unyielding gear… Currently i use non-PA bloodied heavy guns set up for general gameplay. Once i have all the legendary perks i need, i will probably switch to full health build.

As usual very good Vid Turtle! I have 3 favs heavy weapons, a legacy Gatling Laser B/E for fun, a Ultracite Gatling Laser B/25 and a Minigun TS/E!

Average fallout player: complaining they don't have good guns but they own legacys. Chad fallout enjoyer: just want to play the game and enjoy every aspect

you forgot best for Stealth so here is a suggestion Either Instigation Plasmacaster because +50% on top of Stealth bonus with a high damage weapon like the 'Caster will usually one shot anything you bump into in appalachia. Alternatively the Flamer or Cryolater are silenced so you can maintain stealth against big mobs easier. Stick AA and FFR on either of these and sneak like a beast. i really like the efficiency of the Plasma caster and the tactic of "well i always get sneak damage so if i can just murder everyone fast enough im never out of sneak" but i do occasionally trade a bunch of Cannon balls for Flamer ammo and sneak up on a boss and confuse the hell out of them. PA sneak critical builds are really fun btw

Damn, i was hoping to be the gatling gun 😂. Definitely one of my favorites to use for no real reason at this point.

I’m writing this comment before I watch the video, i’m curious what is actually the best heavy guy in every situation. Because I have my own opinion on which ones I think are the best so I’m very excited to see which ones are actually the best with some actual stats comparing side-by-side

Its not the most popular, but I have a pepper shacker B/Faster fire rate/Faster reload that I really enjoy using for general everyday use. I also have many other heavy guns I enjoy using. I have a vampire faster fire rate Ult gat laser that I use for Daily ops which seems to make me unkillable. My personal favorite though will always be the 50 cal. I really do wish that they would make the mini gun more viable, increase the amount of 2mm ammo for the gauss mini you can craft without having to prime it, and give us more weapons skins. There is plenty of skins for the power armor but they seem to have forgotten the weapons.

Hey I have all of those guns and I use them all. My two shot grenade has AP refresh with kill so it's great in vats in my PA

I love my V50Bash Shredder 🙂 I have all god roll heavy weapons but this one is my favourite.

I still use B/E on most of heavy weapons because I'm just a old man who refuses to change. I have a B/E Gatling gun for everyday use and a B/E Gatling plasma for boss DPS and mass mob clearing ... although sometimes I do pull my B/FFR Gauss minigun to change it up just wish the weapon wasn't such a disappointment

For me i found the Ultracite Twoshot gatling lazer to have the most DPS. But i also have Anti Armour on it aswell

Couple questions Turtle: I have a Bloodied Gatling Gun... what's thought on Gatling gun ? I do have a AA plasma caster but mine has refresh AP on kill, still use that or reroll ? Gauss minigun isn't that good ?

gatling is very ammo efficient

Turtle, unless you have an anti-arm version of that shredder you do need to stabilize so you do need to be in power armor. The shredder is really way more effective with an armor stabilize bashing on the gun bashing in the in the bill I mean for pulling it out to do it does do may lay damage, even though it doesn’t have the mail key keyworddamage the shredder does considered me so I’m pretty sure will work for daily or Franny situation where you have to hit with me and if that’s all you’re using it for then it really doesn’t matter but if you’re going to use it as a weapon you need stabilized and you need to be in power armor otherwise you got about seven seconds of the trigger squeezed before you run out of AP

I actually just use the regular flamer barrel for my every day use. Especially on my PA alt, since I don't wanna always start my day by running to a workbench, especially since I also use other weapons.

I recently found while I was actually testing something like you’re doing I found die 03 scorch beast. Oh, I think one or two of them are legendary all attacking a Myler queen. It’s quite funny, but I won’t lie. I’ve joined in and help kill the miler Qwaint first and left a scar speech for after.

I want that Plasma Caster! I have crits damage one, but it doesn't feel as useful.

Use the vats matrix overlay mod for your PA helmet and most of the time it will feel fine

Legacy gatling plasma still kills Earl/Queen faster than Legacy flamers because of the plasma ground splash damage

Faster fire rate does help with the vampire because the vampire goes off the bash it’s time at bashes which is I think 182 revolutions a minute I think they are behind the fire rate is 182 Sauga more advances the more healing you again but it doesn’t change the damage

As someone who just got the gauss minigun yesterday. The bloodied version shreds enemies. And is alot better than the foundations vengeance which I used for close to 85 levels

No love for the gatling gun and the pepper?

How's the damage compared btween aristocrats and anti armors? For flamer/ gatling plasma

I’ve recently been watching a lot of your videos in order to find out what to run for my Full Health Heavy build. My perk deck build is based off of your Lazy Full health no PA heavy gunner with a few modifications of my own to help with carry weight and so far everything’s been going great. I’m thinking about switching to a build with PA and I am going to used Vangaurd Strangler Heart Armor but I have been quite confused on what weapon to use. Im stuck between Vampires and Anti Armor and I’m not sure what to use. Flamers are great but tend to break a lot so I’ve been looking at maybe using a Gauss Minigun of some sort. I want something where I can grind and farm alot of ammo like you can with the Gatling gun but I want something strong. Just an all around good gun I can use for Daily Ops, Dealing some damage to bosses, PvE and stuff of that sort. Can someone recommend me a gun I could use for my build . Any advice is appreciated thank you

Fertile for skirts, Vista Terrace shot targeting computer missile launcher is the best for scorch beast especially if you get the broom stick with that Maria damage while aiming thing you just ADS on the scorch beast and hold the trigger down your old boat, triggers or whatever system you’re on you, you hold the ATS key and you hold the trigger key it shoots reloads church there’s no missing at all. I mean once you’re locked down with the targeting computer, you will not mess and it’s simply a matter of how many shots it takes and come on nowadays missiles are easy I’ve got 100 K sitting in my machine to pull more missiles if I needed more grenades if I needed more mini nuke so I need it you know whatever I need it’s easy to get.

my day to day is my explosive gatling gun, not great, but ammo is basically free and good per shot damage, especially if I'm just trying to wound enemies for someone else to get the hits on

Hey turtle you and I both know by now that the barrel on your bashing shredder doesn’t matter you still pick up ammo so instead of putting a ultra safe airline and picking up a bunch of useless ultrafine ammo that you’re just going to drop the horse shoot up anyway after running a bashing shredder character, you should use the accelerated barrel and by the way, I know in first person in b add blocks your view but put the reflex sight on so that when you do pick up ammo, you can actually maybe hit something with it even went out for cards to 50 CAL Wellsville destroy miles if you had shot but with the accelerated barrel, it will explain, bad animal, hola, quicker, save you, the trouble of dropping it edit isn’t really that much different damage than the ultra side ammo anyway

After watching Kevduit pretty much everyday, I now love the plasma caster.

I use bloodied 25ffr gaus minigun shredders everything too with explosive perk. Just Quite a mission to obtain if not lucky with Minerva.

The worst thing about builds in this game is the fact that i almost cannot use diffreant type of weapons if i dont want to loose on dmg. Why we cannot have only perks for like ballistic weapons DMG and Energy weapons DMG it would make life much easier and finally i could have one rifle one smg and one heavy gun or something like that... And than choose if i want fire rate or Vats build,Sneak. I mean like yeah you can have more builds set up but everytime you have to go in stash change weapons and add them as favorite again Or if bethesda just add these perks and leave like shotgunner comando perks still there so that people can choose what they want. What im i saying you seriously dont need focuseb builds in this game sence its not PVP almost anytime...

My daily driver is my ultra rare Double Explosive minigun. I was lucky enough to land this beauty 1 week after the game launched. Good thing I was almost level 50 by the end of the BETA and Bethesda let us carry that progress into Day 1. Double prefix was removed way before explosive Energy weapons were removed. Goodtimes

Gatling plasma for bosses, gatling laser for everything else because of endless free ammo (fusion cores are everywhere and free from workshops).

I like my Vamp Explosive .50 Cal, because i don't like dying in the game.

Turtle if you pick up animal with that just continue to bash that ammo will do double damage when you’re at bashing range using it on something it will nearly double your damage

I think it’s because when you pass them with a explosive weapon well certain explosive weapons like the auto launcher good actually target sperm instead of just having them with a OE but if the same time I think they fixed that because I can no longer target scorch beast in the air with the launcher I mean you know how the launcher used to be like a homemade wine from your garden and white match play golf mobile five rounds and dad scorch beast there a chase him around telling all went off. I don’t see that happening anymore.

Really sad I did not know about The Final Word before I did the quest. Was under 40 when I did it and got really sad as I wanted to go heavy weapon power armor at 50, and was only going to do research it once I hit 50.

I’ve had a 2 shot explosive Gatling since level 50. I always loved it. Tagging in fast mob killing events is good. Ammo super easy to get 10s of thousands of. Damage seems good on regular mobs (not into dps numbers necessarily, just want good damage without worrying about meta dps). Anyway. My question is…I love my Gatling. I haaaate weapons that have to spin up. But so many videos and websites have spin up guns as “this is the best heavy gun”. I also got so used to how nice the gatling’s ease of ammo gathering is, that every time I try something like an ultracite gatling or gauss mini gun, the ammo cost and weight is outrageous. Given my preferences stated above….what do you guys think I should try? I feel like my non-unique simple Gatling gun screams newb in a big boss battle. Or that I’m simply not contributing enough to pull my weight.

Thank you Turtle for your review. I greatly appreciate all the information you share. I personally use AAE heavy weapons and have NEVER had any problem taking any enemy. The only downfall to using a weapon like an AAE Flamer or AAE Gatling Plasma, is they are horrid for close range and I tend to kill myself more often than the enemies.

I was super happy when I found This because today when doing ops I just wondered, what would be the best heavy weapon for each situation and then I found this! :D

I love my 2 shot auto grenade launcer. Feel like mine does more damage than yours did in the video.
