    I have the S62, its a fantastic golf watch. If you can afford it, buy it. They make cheaper versions, but the S62 is the mac daddy!

    I recently purchased a range finder to see if there was much difference in distance presented and tbh my S62 is usually within 2-3 yds of the range finder even with varying pin positions. Most of the time its spot on! I love it!

    Thanks for the review. I just bought the S42, I love the green side view, but I am not so sure on the virtual caddie and that seems to be the main advantage for the S62 and if you want that sort of thing I think it would be well worth it. For me though, I can't play golf with virtual caddies. I really have to get into the feel of a round and sometimes, even though its 8 iron distance, I am taking out the 7 because I am just not hitting my 8 that well that day (I play mixed blades / composite set). It is a fantastic looking watch though and well made, the GPS on these Garmin is better than other brands I have used.

    Thanks for watching & for subscribing! The S42 is a great watch and at $299 is a great alternative to the S62. I really took advantage of the virtual caddie for a portion of last season and still do, but much like you I make judgement calls based on course conditions, how I'm hitting certain clubs and if I know the course well.

    Your video was helpful and I've just ordered the watch (great Cyber Monday deal). One thing that helped me decide to buy it is the fact that it was suggesting that you use your 5 wood off the tee on that last hole you showed. That was spot on from my perspective because given what I saw of the way you play, I think you would find you scored better if you used the 5 wood off the tee simply because you are more likely to keep it on the fairway due to more backspin of the lofted club. I would suggest you try following all of the virtual caddie's recommendations and see if you score better. That would be a great follow up video.

    Thanks for watching and commenting! You are right! I’ve been using the S62 almost 2 years at this point and my handicap has definitely improved. I talk about other golf watch options in an upcoming video, but maybe I should do one talking about the long term benefits of the S62.

    That's awesome! Delaware has some hidden gem golf courses! Regarding the watches - either would give you more features than the S20, but the S62 has so many features for tracking and information. They just released an update that is supposed to show you the green reads, speed changes, direction, etc. I can't wait to try that feature out this season.

    In my experience it takes around a full 5 rounds to start suggesting clubs. So you can play 5 full 18 or like you mentioned 10 9-hole rounds. Thanks for watching! If you haven't subscribed please consider doing so! Thanks for watching!

    great video ive just purchased the garmin approach s62 and played my first round yesterday but i noticed it wasnt picking up little chip shots around the green is there a way to do this ?

  • @BogeyKingGolf

    @BogeyKingGolf

    9 ай бұрын

    You can manually add a shot from the menu and track those closer shots. My watch seems to capture ~50% of my chips depending on force, etc. You can get the sensors that fasten to the end of your club and they promise to catch the chips and putts, but from my friends experience they pick up every shot including practice swings. They don’t always turn on and you eventually have to change out the battery. I’ve found my manually adding a shot from the watch or doing it after the round in the Garmin Golf app I’ve managed to get the data I need without spending the extra $. I hope that helps! Thanks for watching and commenting!

    Do you need the CT10 club tracking for it to keep track of your strokes?

  • @BogeyKingGolf

    @BogeyKingGolf

    3 жыл бұрын

    That is a great question! No, you don't need them. They can help you get more specific information on clubs like your wedges or putter, but I have had no issue getting data from all of my clubs (except putter - I don't really need it since I enter how many putts on the watch when entering my score). The only advantage they provide is automatic club recognition for shot tracking, but I think that isn't work the additional cost. It's very easy to select the club you used on the watch and then the tracking works the same way.

    I just became your 44 subscriber, I have a question for you. So I want to buy this watch, but I also am not truly considered. So at times if I make a bad shot, I'll drop another down to see what I did wrong. I'll still play my first shot because, I want to see my true score. My question is I can't do that anymore because it wouldn't track my real distance on my clubs correct if I do this correct? Btw I had the garmin s10 I believe. It was nice but this seems it help out a lot more with the "caddy" tracking my distances.

  • @BogeyKingGolf

    @BogeyKingGolf

    Hey Chase! Thanks for subscribing! That’s a great question. I often do the same thing to see if I can possibly work out what I may have done wrong. In those instances the watch will track your shot once you’ve selected the club you used. You can hit 5 shots from the same spot, but it won’t track until you selected the club and go to your ball. There is also the option to update your shots in the app afterwards where you can further refine or edit in the event the watch didn’t track the right shot or maybe you forgot to select the correct club. Over time it definitely gets better and using the stats portion of the app really gives additional insight into your average distance per club.

    Just bought it in the netherlands. Like it a lot. Tbh I expected it would only have the American Courses but they have so many. Love it! Would you also recommend the CT10's? Does that provide added value except for the auto shot tracking?

  • @BogeyKingGolf

    @BogeyKingGolf

    Thanks for watching! It has a very extensive course library! I don't think the CT10s are necessary. The only advantage I see is that you don't have to manually select the club you're using, but that action takes all of 1 second or less. Most of the feedback I've seen on the CT10s are they work OK, but sometimes record swings that didn't happen or don't register with the watch so you're still selecting the club manually. Save the $ and use it on a few rounds instead! :)

I need to manually input the club everytime thru "last shot".... I know virtual caddie will start after 5 rounds...

    Did you download the Garmin Golf app and program in your clubs? That will then enable you the ability to select which club you hit each time. It does take 5 full rounds before it will start suggesting which club to use. Also, make sure virtual caddie is turned on in the watch settings. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoy mine!

    The smart watch portion is ok, but obviously not as full featured at the Apple Watch. I use it with an iPhone 12 Pro Max and it syncs quickly. You can read messages and notifications, but you can’t respond or make calls from the watch. I used it as my only smart watch for about 6 months, but went back to the Apple Watch when the series 6 came out. I just use the S62 now for golf.
