The Best Gibson Les Paul I've Had | Les Paul Custom Bigsby

Ойын-сауық

I really just wanted to record this guitar and amp together as I think they go so beautifully together for a big british blues sound! This is my Gibson Murphy Lab Les Paul Custom and a brown deluxe type amp I made myself.

It’s a gorgeous machine and plays beautifully. I was just at the Gibson Garage in Nashville and met an antique Pelham Blue 58 Standard Murphy Lab that really wanted to go home with me but it’s ZIP Code had way too many digits, about 9000 of them, if you get my drift. So I left it there, but my God what a beautiful guitar.

I always thought black Les Paul customs looked the best, I like me a Biggby on them too.

Even without that 1 lb trem and the 3rd pup, this guitar is still heavy but that doesn't take away from the vibe it puts out nor it's beauty! The LP Custom has the nicest headstock of all the LP's. Thanks for sharing!

When was starting with guitars, I was all over the futuristic design, super ergonomic, great access and what not guitars. In a time, I found I both dont enjoy playing them and am rubbish at playing them. Instead I much prefere "piece of furniture" style guitars like Les Pauls, 335s etc. They just fits me better, I play better on them and its also much greater fan. So if I hear "Les Paul is not ergonomic", Im like "well, they are for me"

I got lucky and picked up a custom shop 57 reissue 3 pickup stop tail custom a couple years ago that is right at 8 lbs. I don’t think I could ever consider a guitar over 10 lbs any more. But if you are playing sitting all the time then it’s a moot point. Also have a 62 brown deluxe and the same analogman delay. Good tastes!

Thought that bridge pickups sounded great! Lots of clarity.

Another great video. Incredible guitar. Awesome playing. I recently put a Bigsby (and Vibramate) on a black Les Paul standard but now the case won’t close. Does this fit ok or did you have to buy a different case? Anyone got any tips? Cheers 👍

Now that is a cool guitar. I love a heavy Les Paul. I'm not a big dude and I have never had a problem playing my 10 lb Les Paul for hours at a time. I think that chambering and weight relief is a sin. Maybe when I'm an old man I'll play a lighter guitar. Or play sitting. I think that the strap is very important. For heavy guitars, use a wide strap.

Hi James. How does the wiring function in the middle position? I know that the middle position provides a mixture between the middle pickup and the bridge pickup but I wonder how do the knobs work? Do the neck pickup knobs control the middle pickup? I ask because rolling out a bit of volume from the middle or the bridge pickup generally remove out of phase tones between the middle and the bridge pickup and allow to dial in very diverse and interesting tones. It would be interesting having your view on this.

@JamesOnGuitar I go somewhere way better than specsavers. Thanks. Never really been a fan of Les Paul's generally . But the three pickups and that popping great Bigbsy look ls really clumsy to me. I'm glad you like it, though, as I said each to their own
