    Spike r makes a great quality heavy duty product. Bought an S80 with the 50lbs extension ring in 2006. Used it heavily on large commercial lawns till we sold landscaping business in 2018. But kept spreader still working great after 15 years

    I bought my P20 used for $90. I added the Accuway for around $7 and added the side deflector also. I love the P20, I just wish the legs in back were just a little shorter. Worth noting that the customer service at Spyker is awesome!

    @@spykerspreadersI don't see the parts to add accuway to the P20 in the spyker store anymore. My P20 is throwing heavily to the left, barely anything to the right. I've looked online and seems to be a common issue with these P20 spreaders. Are these parts expected to be back? Another problem I have is that the chute also closes itself if I don't hold the lever while walking, so I have to use one hand for the handle and one for the lever. This is not supposed to be happening on a $300 spreader.

    Late to the game here. Question(s): you didn't show the action and/or design of the openings for the fertilizer. How does (either the Ergo Pro or the P20) work with material of small and light weight vs bigger material? That is one of my biggest problems with my current Earthway model 2150 (plus the Earthway requires tools to make changes to the opening which is a real PIA). Thanks, and very nicely done video.

    Great video Jimmy! Do the gearboxes both have a lifetime warranty? You mentioned it with the pro and I don't believe you said for the P20. I believe I will go for the Pro as I am a bit taller and it sounds like the pro gives more options in that department plus the grease fitting making the gears both run more quite I would think. I'm sure either are great spreaders. I've been after a Spyker for a while now and was fooled by another so called quality spreader. While it does a decent job with normal granular it struggles some with smaller granuals.

    Great Review JL! I own the Spyker Pro 50lbs. Love it! Except I noticed that all the sudden the spread pattern was less coming out of the left side than the right side ( throwing 2 feet left and 3-4 feet right). Wonder if you could do a vid on how to use the fine adjustment knob to get the pattern back to evenly spreading from both sides. Nothing changed from previous year, so I am not sure why it got out of wack. Thanks as always for your great reviews! Peace and God's Love! Chad Upstate NY

    I just got my Ergo Pro and I wish the Side deflector seemed as substantial as the rest of the spreader is. It seems like a flimsy afterthought that is going to eat the coating on the frame. It flops down on its on when going over something as simple as a sidewalk crack that is naturally between them.

    @@fescuefreddy6529 I mentioned the same thing to Spyker in their side deflector install vid in the comments. What you can do is get a pack of 3M adhesive backed rubber cabinet bumpers and stick one on the bar right where it makes contact with the frame. Plus is makes it a little quieter when you use it too. If not that you can try the adhesive backed felt bits they sell for furniture legs.

  • @JimmyLewisMows

    @JimmyLewisMows

    The drop hole size is very similar between the two models. It's like a semi-curved rectangular shape. The Ergo Pro's agitator pin is a little longer than the P20. Sorry, I had footage of that, but for some reason dropped the ball on putting that in the final edit.

    Do you ever have problems with either spreader clogging? My biggest complaint about the Earthway 2150 I have is that the material will frequently clog up and I have to open and close the gate a few times to get it going again. I'm looking for a spreader that will flow more consistently.

  • @JimmyLewisMows

    @JimmyLewisMows

    I can't recall ever having a true clogging issue. If anything, the setting I choose was just too low and I had to open it up a bit more, and from there I was fine.
