it would have been *very* funny to see Tribute to the Doomed pitch Exodia to kill the B.Skull Dragon so the Exodia deck can try to go for lethal I don't think he would've gotten away with it, Joseph drew a playset of Magic Jammer and the unknowns probably had a Judgment in them if he was counterdecking to have any game against Exodia, but it would've been a great moment

I know that you mean tribute to the damned+beating with the 3 monsters+catapult effects. But as we see on a later turn one of the 2 sets was Magic Jammer so it wouldn't have worked.

He definitely considered it, but the sets were either Jammer/Solemn or Waboku, and either way mbt survives.

Also, this is the third time he has hogged it for himself, not to mention picking up basically free wins because of it. At least Joseph is wining with more skill and not just because the deck is basically impossible to screw up getting a win using it.

I don't know if the OCG text is different but the Dark Hole wasn't even necessary for the FTK in game 3, because Cannon Soldier can just tribute itself.

I remember last week thinking Joseph should have swapped Solemn for Magic Jammer, not sacrificing life points, with the chance to +1 on the Sangan and Witch discard. Nice to see him finally get a win with 3 Magic Jammers in a single game, and the lifepoints to actually resolve Stein.

Last Will, even the TCG variant, is the kind of card you read, re-read, read a third time, put down, and ask "are you taking the piss?" I distinctly remember _not_ using it because my initial reaction was "that card _cannot_ do what I think it does. I must be reading it wrong..." Turns out I wasn't reading it wrong (much; at the time I remember thinking it worked like a trap card), but I had way too much faith in... I think Konami was responsible for this one, only for Upper Deck to _try_ and soften the blow.

Wild seeing the Exodia deck lose this badly but I guess that's Yu-Gi-Oh! Even the best decks can have their mega bricks

@@lamiaprincess6371 No it couldn't, the set was Magic Jammer. Tribute to the doomed would have never resolved and in his position gettin another critter to add another piece was useless. A third body in the field to avoid dying was better. And because he wasn't sure abiut another magic jammer it was better to leave witch and sangan beacuse they could have added other critters if MBT attacked thus giving a monster to set and a discard for tribute or he could have added 2 pieces and hoped to draw the last one or a draw spell. The problem in the end was that any play still resulted in death thanks to magic jammer.

cannon soldier+a firewall dragon(pre errata that caused broken loops) that summons from the deck and triggered not just by sending a monster to the GY(this version of last will) is never a good sign in any game, this last will is far more broken than I imagined which is only limited to field sent

@@lsp6032 Off the top of my head, Cannon Soldier turned up here, Dimension Fusion/DMOC Cannon FTK, various iterations of Firewall FTK, apparently some other FTK in 2000 somehow, Telefon FTK also currently exists, it's just not very good against the current meta, but something will probably break it eventually. This thing has a God damn history, and needs to be stopped.

Never thought I’d see the day Cimooo get unlucky. At this point I think anything could happen.

SPOILERS: It's so ironic that despite all of the times Cimo has had game-winning clutch draws, when he plays one of the most consistent FTKs in all of history that shouldn't even require clutch draws that he bricks every duel 😆

Last Will is such a menace. I wouldn't be surprised if it got banned for being such a rulings nightmare they gave up on trying to balance it through its wording.

Nah, eventually, they nerfed the heck out of it to make it actually not a ruling nightmare. It was still broken because of what it can grab from deck and will not come back because of that

Cimooo should really try getting Exodia in the Progression series. I think Gage would have a melt down if he had to deal with it.

tbh I just straight up think that Cimo was mistaken in saying this deck was stronger than the last. MoF, raigeki and swords being exchanged for Thunder Dragon, Last will and Cannon Soldier, only serves to make the deck slower and more bricky. Thunder Dragon is notorious for its ability to completely brick a hand and while cannon soldier being able to tribute sangans and witches is neat, the old deck doesn't even need to have them hit the board. I can understand getting rid of traphole, but not the third judgement. Basically, the last deck was entirely focused on the Exodia FTK, whereas this one seems to go out on weird needless tangents.

This deck basically has no counters if it goes first and I think the thunder dragons are not great cards for this deck either as those are for BLS fodder. He could have EASILY replaced that with a feather and just like that he wins.

Doesn't that require a 7000 LP difference? Even if Solemn isn't being used directly on self-destruct, the LP costs it asks for can thin the difference to the point where Cell can't summon teh forbidden Nintendo monke, Sudoku Kong.

I really want MBT trying to break down his decklist. Especially during times like this where he'd be going insane trying to plan around a 1 card ftk

First game, why not tribute witch, which is a liability in attack mode, to get another witch or sangan, which will allow tribute to the doom the red skull and still get your piece search? Heck, you could even search for another recruiter and normal summon/set that if you want more bodies on board.

Even back in 1999, Cannon Soldier was a problem.

All they had to do was limit it to 3 uses per turn and most of these things would not have even been an issue 😂

The misplays were strong with this one.

Dark Hole wasn't even necessary game 3 because Cannon Soldier can just tribute itself.

It's basically what I've been saying since that first Exodia video. Although Exodia is really strong and in desperate need of nerfing, the only reason it seemed so unstoppable was because Cimo drew like a god almost every game. But surprise: when your deck is full of bricks that do nothing without setup from about 25% of your deck, you brick. Only reason he won that game 3 was because Last Will's original text is the dumbest card to have ever been printed. xD I consider this the Haymaker deck of Yugioh. It was considered to be really stupid good and borderline broken, but in actuality, the only reason it did so well competitively was because the game was still new and people just weren't as good at the game as they are today. Well, that and Last Will of course.

Dude just no. All you have to do is calculate the probability of drawing his draw cards and the game just ends there. If there are any bricks in this deck it's just thunder dragon which shouldn't be in this deck because it's just a brick. Edit: Just so you understand, he doesn't NEED cannon soldier to do anything. Just one sangan/witch + last will if you have one card in face up attack position and your ass is cooked.

Kinda want to see him go back to the previous build and see if it stomps again, or if it was a fluke.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I feel like FTK decks have long since surpassed the consistency of this deck, especially if you factor in playing through hand traps. 3 Pot/Graceful sounds insane, but the rest is so many bricks that you still brick quite a lot, which is a far cry from modern FTKs with so many one-card starters.

Let me explain the real effect of Last Wil first print is When a monster is send to the gy "place" one monster with 1500atk or less from your deck then shuffle. Not summon but place

I wish that Joseph would have piloted the exodia deck instead of Alex since he has used it so many times in the past unless Joseph didn't want exodia

He drew it during the battle phase so it wasn't worth using that same turn and losing the surprise element, and he wouldn't have had lethal the following turn (Even if he had Cannon Soldier'd off Sangan). At that point there was nothing to do without getting rid of his 2nd copy of Exodia's Head, and Joseph had a Magic Jammer anyway if he slammed it before Jar

@@tvftw1 He can do it w/o getting rid of the head--by tributing witch via cannon soilder, which gets him a sangan that he can discard with tribute. If it's negated, he still have the same or better game state by getting another witch and setting it(he haven't normal summoned), but the jam is gone so his pot will go through later(well, his deck will be shuffled so might draw differently, but.... let's say the rest stay the same somehow) If it's not negated, now there is a lot less damage on board, which might mean more turns and more chances. Either way, it doesn't get him to win right away, but he's in a much better position.

@@1stCallipostle i mean i was very aware of it being even more busted previously, i knew it summoned infinitely during series 1, i used it with that effect in my series 1 custom format(s), i just had not assimilated that, just like sangan and witch, it didnt care where monsters were sent to the gy from Last will was already limited in my format(s) anyways so its not like it changes much, even without 3 pot 3 charity (i limited them for obvious reasons) it absolutely led to broken combo pretty much any deck could tech in (although because of the rarity of winning on turn 1 due to having less draw power the preferred last will combo is a burn combo since it thus uses no bad cards (i guess catapult turtle is mid but thats pretty much the worst card you have to run so its really ok))
