Im a casual player but can you try soul servant send pharaonic advent to grave. Send two traps/spells to grave that being magic defense to revive pharaonic advent. either have dugares revive him, magic defense or play chaos phantasm to copy him and use itself as fodder. Then take tyrant throes and use navi to revive 2 dark magicians to lock opponent.. it aint competitive but maybe you can create or add cards that it might.. its fun to lock them and have eternal soul to revive dark magicians and link ladder to tenyi.. add in apophis to negate and have extra normal monster.. add in magical hats to create 2 normal summons for tyrant throes while sending traps like navi, magic defense etc to grave and revive dark magician and lock opponent.. its stylish and fun for content but it aint competitive 😂 add one aremasir adventure cont spell is fun too. Or shadow light magician soul to summon effect veiler to sychro summon formula and get a draw.. with magicians rod negated you can still synchro summon into junk speeder.. deck dont have much space but its nice to pull out 5 synchrons tuner and create something thinking your DM deck is done.

Magician of chaos can revive pharaonic to get skill drain if you dont have the cards to lock with throes.. just wondering if you might have some ideas to make it a lil bit better.. DM deck is just bricky.. magical hats works well but you have to wait for them to attack.. yea its not competitive but its fun 😂 i play in masterduel and its sad that some cards are not there yet like chaos maxx. And dragoon is banned which is sad lol.. and so in other dm deck i replace it with rainbow neos not that it has same effect but like an instant boss monster. add verte and 1 neos fusion with dark rainbow dragon since you can summon it if you hv 7 dark monster and since its a dragon, and elemental neos is warrior for dark calvary.. if not rainbow neos .. i use dpe using vision hero witch raider and destiny hero denier.. if not for banned cards I could use better cards lol

Qardan is nice to add to reuse cont traps but just is hard to search coz vernuslyph awakenjng locks you from using non earth effects. Magical hats really fits coz you can use it for thyrant throes, search any graveyard effects and if you use it on apophis you can reuse the negate.. graveyard effects like mound to search divines, magic def to revive 2 spellcaster and tribute summon sliffer easy. Z-one to regain any field spell. Break through skill for monster negate.. navi for spell trap negate if you hv Dm on board. Its just fun..🎩 🐇 🧙‍♀️ hahaha

Somebody needed to say this, the circle soul triangle is too slow and no card should destroy your whole front row on destruction.

Yugi didn't have many dark magician cards in the show, he had cards that went with it. That's why I think it's good komoney is finally slowing down with the archetype BS and going more towards engines that work well with many decks and more staples...

Trif îs currently playing Dark Magician Pendulum. Having Dark Magician on the field is very important to him.

Your video is clearly well thought out and well made, but it could be ultimately summarized as "just play Albaz/Runick lol"

Dogmatika is top tier for ONE reason alone…”Dog Magician! Use Bark Magic Attack!”

try shadows light on dark magician deck.. you can fusion summon more often than expected. Magicians rod always gets negated anyway.. but with shadows light you can still fusion summon, synchro, xyz, and link summon.. and an extra normal summon. So use shadow light on magician rod and special summon minerva, lightsworn maiden.. it is so versatile coz depending on situation you can go different paths.. you can synchro summon into muddymud dragon. Then you can fusion summon into dragoon, dragon knight, dark magicians, invoked caliga, etc.. skys the limit.. if you need a draw you go for dark magicians but you can go stardust charge warrior.. combo it with top share and you can use traps right away.. you can search and use anything from your deck.. with triple tactics thrust you can search shadows light and top share easily. You can use destined rivals and negate all monsters with that combo. Invoked caliga is underated too.. shadows light is so versatile you can summon mahad easily and set up to synchro summon chaos angel. Chaos archfiend with dark magician and effect veiler. Magician souls and effect veiler into formula synchron.. you can go xyz level 3s if you need negates, destroy etc. You can go link as well. But the fusion with muddy dragon is insane coz they wont expect it. Im still looking for more lines and I haven’t mention all the things i found but I felt its super good going first. Its biggest drawback us that you cant attack for that turn..

Ohh you can go muddy dragon to lubellion then once its in the graveyard you can use it again to summon dark magicians or mirrojade or dragoon sadly we dont have dragoon in master duel.. or can combo into albion and fusion summon another set depending what ever is on grave.

You dont even need the fusion cards in deck to fusion summon out of theme fusions like caliga or fallen albaz.

It even works with predaplants even it doesn’t specific name coz he fits as a dark monster. Provided that other monser should be dark too. Nice targets are purgatrio to boardwipe, dragoon/ mechaba for negates, caliga -flood gate

Yo Matchie i loved the Deck Profil from YCS Vancouver! I have been testing out That build over Last Weeks with mixing in nadir Servent, Ecclesia and fleurdelis. Garura und Entys in the Extra doing some work going 1. or2. Also synergices pretty Well with Lulluwalith und Secret Village in the Main.I had to cut the books und Nib. But feels like ash und Secret Village is enough for the Main . The consistency is much better, as there are more powercard to do Some crazy stuff. Please keep going with these nice videos!🫡🫶

Hey matchie love your content. Did you ever try to integrate mask change 2 to the deck?

I made “branded illusions magicians + shaddoll” Chimera, branded, dm cores & winda package that you can sub out for super poly cards/more going second cards if need. my creation is beautiful. So many starters, so many routes. Doing chimera plays, got ashed? Go branded route and so forth. Out of 7 games I only bricked I believe twice. The board I’ve ended on is Winda, dragoon, luluwal, chimera king of etc etc, Mirrorjade. With chimera fusion card set, and 3 cards in hand for draw/pop with guardian chimera. Most of the time tho is chimera of etc etc, dragoon, winda, lulu. Fixing ratios and testing took a hot minute but man was it worth.

Double iris, black fang, purple poison, harmonizing Magician, along with a shit ton of draw power. Now the draw power is insane, I can theoretically draw up to 13 cards. Not counting searching for others.

The only way I'd ever run eternal souls is with something like defense zone and field barrier but in all the cases I looked into it's too many cards just to protect 1 trap....

i just play masterduel. we dont have dragoon. is there any way to make a similarly capable decklist without dragoon?

Killer content as usual If S.P. knight is going to be so good do you still think branded is the strongest engine to with DM?

Unfortunately duality can’t be replaced it’s part of the blazing granguional engine but what you can do is replace it with a whole other engine till you do complete it

100% agree with you vision of DM and also imo Branded pack works the best cause it supports and gives more strenght to DM deck. And i enjoy running a DM Slifer deck not ther best or YCS worthy but its a lot of fun! Keep up with DM vid brother!

I know this is still a pretty new video but I saw in another comment you were still looking at agov stuff too. Would you recommend the branded engine as still being the best to pair competitively? I'm just getting back in to paper play recently and trying to figure out what to spend my money on. Thanks!

Absolutely. I think the branded engine is far and away the best way to play the deck at its highest level. Other engines are nice, fun and can even see results, but branded offers the deck significantly more going into what the format is right now :) Hope this helps

As things stand, I think the tech slots and discussions remain the same as they were pre-Vancouver, however a new set that is format altering is set to drop in a week, so things are due to change. What those changes are, I don’t know yet until I do more testing and theory. I will say to expect a video either this week or next with an updated deck profile.

I've been experimenting with a DM dragon maid deck...but I'm not adept at the game and masterduel doesn't give me access to Dragoon. 😅😅

The most fun I had playing DM was with Branded Slifer and return of the sky god. It was super inconsistent but when it worked it was amazing.

4:14 I mean if you want DM to succeed then you have limit the DM cards in your deck, most DM support isn't good enough to help it in tournaments. Apart from that I still play some of the DM support coz I'm not a competitive player haha.

I’m working in a Dark Magician-Adventurer version, and in my opinion there is no place for Magicians Rod there, because of the Rite of aramesir. What it works for me is playing floodgates like Secrer village, or skill drain. I know branded is the strongest way to play this deck but some reason it doesn’t feel right to me, at least not fun.

I wish Circle and Eternal Soul were more competitive, because I love them on a conceptual level. I appreciate this breakdown though, because it’s important to take our DM more seriously.

0:06 that's not entirely true I play DMG in my DM deck and it's fun, it works it's not for competitive play but it's a fun casual deck.

What game is this

Honestly, i don't think using DM as an engine is wrong. But the one thing i disagree with is about the identity of DM being "maximize Dragoon". The deck was never about setting up interruptions either, it was more about chipping away at the opponent's board with removal while winning the advantage war in a slow grindgame using monsters and backrow that are hard to remove. In fact DM with Ethernal Soul + Dragon Knight has an excellent grindgame, even though it might not be enought by itself. The decks with the branded engine don't have this type of playstyle and look more like branded + a Dragoon turbo engine than DM to me, and i think they work more because Branded Fusion itself is busted than because of actual synergy. This is not to say the ideas you showed were not on point. In fact i think they maximize Dragoon's potential way better that pure DM ever will. It's just that if i'm going to go out of my way to play a DM deck i'd like to play with it's original playstyle, as bad as it might be. Otherwise i might as well play just Branded. But i'm just a casual player who does not care to lose some of my games, and this is just my own opinion. Sorry if i wrote an essay for you.

I have seen alot ppl even a youtuber play this deck but man its a ass build Kashtira deck its just smash 2 decks on top cause they are lvl 7 decks thats it no support what so ever.

I’m a huge Dark Magician fan and been paying the deck for years till now but I have to this you the deck doesn’t achieve much, cards are too slow, not enough combo to recover if you get handtrap. It’s a fun deck though.

Maybe swap out DMG for Palladium Mahad.. same draws but better card. I use play odd eyes arc ped dragon as my normal dragon...with small pen package for vortex dragon

The palladium monsters imo are just as bad as DMG, however having the dark magicians as a fusion monster is needed and DMG can unbrick a lot of hands by being able to be used as material for TDM’s which paired with soul servent is a draw 3 which is nice. It just holds a little more value than the palladium monsters

That depends what variant you are running maybe but with a branded pack as long DM isnt face down banished its always live so 1 DM is more then enough

@@rez-1270 On the deck list. The branded package is only running one lubellion so once its used then you have no DM any more... Or they prevent you from even using lubellion. From the list, thats the only card you can use to bring back DM. I think if you're only running one DM then there isn't a point in running DM at all cause in most games you'd be relying on the engine to win as bystials are in almost all side decks unless they are being use in the main deck.

@@rez-1270 The base are the two engines... I'm saying the base should have two DM's in it as bystials are still very prevalent in the current meta. The other 14 main deck cards and 3 extra deck cards are left for tech choices. Obviously its not a full deck, anyone could tell you that.

Eternal soul is a pretty bad card. Ik it was ok when it came out but losing your entire field to a cosmic cyclone makes the deck worse. Not to mention that summoning the regular dark magician from the hand or gy isnt even that good

Did you forget about "DM Dragon Knight"? Those to can reliable be played on turn one (assuming you don't brick too hard) and the only real answer is to have ridiculous ATK or non-target removal of spell/traps. The only card you rally need after that is a "Piercing the Darkness" to make sure it being beaten in battle is hard. Since "DM Dragon Knight" name becomes DM why in GY or field, you can preform all your stuff except like one card needing DM.

@@idkdontask7142 Well then why play DM at all? By that logic, just go wit the most efficient archetypes or engines. I mean anything with this archetype can brick due to many effect being "once per turn" despite some being restricted by mechanics like "M. Rod". I've played to Platinum Rank with DM and generic cards alone in Master Duel. Most of DM cards can serve more than 1 purpose I found, like how a good magician always has another trick. I will agree on the innate advantage other archetypes have. This is why I think the best stuff should be archetypally locked.

I think DMG is an unnecessary card. It serves no purpose, particularly in this deck. Rather, put 2 DMs in the deck. If you gonna keep DMG, I would suggest you put in Magicians combination. I would even say it's necessary if you are running DMG.

Thing is, Combination is a brick in itself. An unnecessary one. You need DMG on field or in grave and a DM in grave or on the field which is what makes it pretty useless. 1 DMG n 1 DM is good because soul servant basically becomes pot of greed for dm

@infamousof3008 it doesn't need to be in your grave. It can be in your hand as well. Yes, it's a brick if you don't have DM and DMG, but at least it's a nice negate and it makes your opponent think twice about destroying it because one of their cards would be destroyed as well. But like I said, I'd only add it because DMG is in the deck, so it's a nice card to include. 2 DMs will serve the same purpose as 1 DM and 1 DMG for soul servant's draw effect. DMG isn't necessary at all because this deck doesn't have and magic or trap cards that require both of them, not even the dark magicians fusion actually needs DMG. It's a really pointless card to include, but if one insists on including DMG, might as well play combination as well.
