Love this. What do you do if you make like a end of the season mix or end of the year reel with clips from a bunch of different projects you have already worked on?

Great question, that used to be a nightmare when I was using premiere pro. I would basically have to go on my hard drives and open up each project to export all of the highlights of the individual player that Im making a season mix for. However, now with DaVinci resolve I have everything in the same project library so I can just plug in my hard drive and reopen the project and copy over the highlights to a new project. Then there's this option that lets you basically copy all of the clips from a timeline and save them in a new location, so that I can edit all of the clips natively on my desktop. Not sure if that makes sense, but I can also make a video on that soon if you're interested.

How do you keep track of which selects you’ve used in the final edit, especially as you try things out that some times don’t work

I actually don't really have a system for that. I normally am able to remember which clips I used in the edit. But the raising clips to a line above is helpful in seeing the best ones so that when I have to scrub back through to find more clips I am not searching through the whole timeline again
