Disappointed with OLight charging my credit card more than my original invoice stated.
If it is not a replaceable battery and you intend to use it everyday, or almost everyday. Do not buy it! I am a hard use flashlight man, due to my work. I have had a lot of O-lights and I have to replace the battery every 6-8 months. They just will not hold a charge any longer. Just get one that you can replace the battery in and get a add on recharger. Some lights are not compatible with rechargable batteries, so make sure it will work for you. you may not use one everyday like I do, so it may not matter. I like the baton series, when I buy one I order at least 4 extra rechargable batteries with it. By the time I go through all the batteries, the switch will be wore out anyway and I buy a new one.
Great light. We measured 886 lumens from the Arkfeld. That's not a bad performer for its size! From the 460 flashlights we reviewed, it still stands out in terms of shape/brightness/features. And I can't wait to see what Olight will do to their next Arkfeld upgrade :D
This is a great light, I love the form factor in the pocket, and the charging system is phenomenal. I always have bad luck with USB charging ports, especially on devices that I carry in my pockets. The magnetic charging completely eliminates that issue. I have to say though, while most people might consider it an afterthought, the green laser pointer was the selling point for me. As an aircraft mechanic, the ability to use my light, which I will always carry anyway, as a pointer as well(for example, to indicate a specific component of a jet engine amongst a labyrinth of lines and hoses to a coworker while standing 12 feet beneath it, or to point to a small skin panel that needs to be removed amongst 6 other identically shaped panels) completely eliminates the need to carry a standalone pointer, freeing up pocket space. One of my coworkers busted this thing out on me a month ago and I was so impressed I immediately went to Amazon and bought one on my next break. Don't regret it at all, money well spent. My one minor complaint is that I wish you were able to use both the light and the laser at the same time. Perhaps a few years down the road this wish will be granted in a future version of the light, but regardless I'm very satisfied with this thing.

Double tap the power button and the light will come on with the laser
Ordered this when it came out. Really like it. Also have the Wedge. I prefer the Arkfeld because it is shorter *and* it has a setting that isn't blindingly bright. The laser is cool, too.
Sootch thank you for the review. I am in need of a new EDC light as I was carrying a stream light product that is approximately 5 years old that was my duty light before I retired. It has crapped out on me and getting it fixed seems to be more of a hassle than what it is worth. I do believe I have found what I’m looking for in the arkfeld. It truly appears to be what I need since I’m not going to need the kind of tool I used in my daily job. Thank you again, keep up the great work that you do. Semper Fi brother.
I’ve been using OLight for years, currently carry a s1r baton 2 and it’s amazing!
Sootch00 because of you I've been carrying o-light for about 8 years now and it's all I use and I consider it to be a teir 1 quality product. Thanks so much you always have great content.
Thanks for reviewing the Arkfeld EDC flashlight, I broke down and ordered me one today! I have always loved flashlights and especially Olight flashlights! I have a few Fenix, and Nightcore flashlights as well! My cousin says I have an addiction! He likes my flashlight addiction though because I give him a lot of my older ones and occasionally I buy him a new one! He uses them all the time at work! He is a construction Superintendent and builds sewage treatment plants! Great video Don!!!!
I've been rocking the Baton3 from Olight. Similar settings. Smaller battery. Great for ball cap light. My wife got me a Prerun 2. Replaceable battery. 90 degree light. Lock out. Top mount switch.
The orange one looks pretty good! They even have a lime green one as well!
I EDC the OD Green Arkfeld CW and absolutely love it!! I use it every night when walking my dog plus the green laser comes in handy and fun to use. Great video brotha!!
TY, I just purchased this using your code. I have been watching this since early 2022 and because of your review I finally “pulled the trigger”! 👍🏾
Great carry choice! I carry the Arkfeld and Drever also every night for work. I'm an overnight truck driver and these and the Baton 3 are used equally every night! Nice review! OH, by the way the wedge was in my pocket before the Arkfeld came out and is also a great light.
Great video review! Love my Arkfeld. It's a part of my EDC as well.

I like this light . Looks cool , is super bright and has all the goods . The olight little keychain light that turns on when pulled out of the magnetic ring has been super handy for quick acess but normally something like this for knowing I m going to use a light .
That is a wonderful pocket light thank you so much. Can't agree more ..a light source is so critical! Thank you again

I like it, I ordered it the day it was released. I normally carried the Mini Warrior 2 which I like the beam pattern more on the Warrior 2 Mini but like the form factor of the Arkfeld. Kind of wish they had the same clip on it that they do on the Mini Warrior 2, would be nice to clip it on my hat from time to time. Like you, I also carry this flashlight every single day, when I put on my PJ's I clip it on them too lol I legit carry this light on me until I go to bed, its an amazing light. As for the laser, I do find myself using it from time to time to basically point stuff out to my kids lol I don't remember if there was a cool color when these were released, but I think it just came in black. Wish it would had came in a cool custom "first release" color. I almost bought the orange one to just have the cool color. lol
Just recv’d mine and am very impressed. I noticed the pocket clip places the magnetic charge contacts on top, which is really smart. I’d still like a cap of some sort to protect the contacts from being shorted out by key rings or other EDC, especially since its magnetic. Maybe I’ll try to heat shrink one myself. Love the magnetic base and their “L” stands for keeping the light handy when not carrying. Still trying to figure out how to “lockout” the light consistently but thats nothing more than memorizing the pattern and remembering it! 🤔 another great video, Thank you!
Awesome looking light and great review. After watching your video I immediately ordered myself one. Thanks for the info!

Yeah, that planned-obsolescence "better one will be available in a few years" is not what I'd call healthy prepper logic. OTOH it's also true that if we're talking "end of industrial civilization" scenarios, no one will be able to make you any more replacement batteries either, so you end up at about the same place. Best you can do with lithium is protect it from heat and restrict the charge-discharge range as much as you can (10-90%, 20-80%, even 30-70% best-case).
I EDC absolutely nothing & here I am watching the video. That's what makes a KZread channel great
Nice, I might have to get myself one of these. My Fenix PD35 is a bit bulky so I often don't bother to clip it on.

Thank you for the discount code. Just bought two. One for me, and one for a Christmas gift for a friend.
Good review and I ended up ordering it and going through your link and using your coupon code which made it cheaper than Amazon for me so thanks for that. Ordered the orange as it seems it would be easier to see if I drop or misplace it. Thanks for the good content.
You sold me Brother Sootch. Order has been placed.
Another very good review sir! Have you thought about checking out the Rovyvon E3 Pro? The specs and ability to use AAA batteries while also having a built-in battery is impressive.
I have four different O-Lights. I think there awesome , I had a 2000 mounted on something which I took off now it's my hand held unit, I replaced that with they're 1500/grn laser. It was smaller and lighter weight with a built in grn laser , I like it so much I bought two ( 1-4 ea.), when the Baldor S 800/ grn laser for something else , the brake away charger is very nice . They light up an 80ft yard like day light ! That small one Scootch00 is showing will be great to keep in the truck !

Thanks Michael! Olight is my go to for a lot of reasons.
Found you when looking for this flashlight review, subscribed when you said "God bless America, long live the republic". 👏🙌🤜👍🙏
Why is this one better that the best one the week before this one or the week before or the week before…….😂
The downfall to all my olight's is finding the button. In the dark, finding the button is a challenge at best. We walk our dogs at night and I carry my handheld Seeker 2 to let cars know we are there. Sometimes finding the button on the Seeker takes a few seconds of rolling it in my fingers and blinding pressing. Daily I carry the I5Teos which has the end button which is great. I made a nice leather belt sheath so it just goes on my belt and is always there. I used it 10 times + a day. A light is definately second to my pocket knife which I use the most every day. I will give one of these new flat lights a try. One last thing, recharging batteries is easy but you have to buy extra batteries and a charger and a power tester. Its lots of stuff you need to run these things.
Just ordered one Thanks for the review sootch
Trusting that shed to be locked with a master lock is a bold choice though.

I do love my Arkfeld, but I have 2 major issues with it. I wish it had a USB-C port instead of the proprietary one, so I don’t have to carry an extra cable, and I wish it was more grippy. The smooth anodized finish is just really loose in the hand.
My wife just ordered mine 😊 she’s surprising with the color
i like the ones you're showing but the battery life will be abysmal because of it's form factor. I am a truck driver by trade and sometimes the trailer lights don't work and I need that light to see what I'm pulling off the trailer and one that will last all day so i use the olight s2r baton 2 because it's small enough, has long battery life for the brightness level i use and as a bonus it has magnet on it which comes in handy as i can simply stick it to the e track brackets. Helps a lot.
After realizing how often I use the flashlight on my phone, I’m ready for an edc light
*Thanks for showing the difference between "cool & neutral" lighting.* *On the website it was indistinguishable.*
My own EDC flashlight is the Nitecore TINI 2. This too seem excellent!
Just purchased the orange light and knife combo on sale, Thanks Sootch!
My problem is the difficulty of battery replacement. Yes, you say by the time the battery wears out there will be better tech available, I certainly hope that is the case, but that doesn't make it the best SHTF option.
@Falconryder
Жыл бұрын
And for the 99.999999999% of the time that the S is not HTF, it's far cheaper and easier to have a quick to recharge light instead of going broke on cr123 batteries.

Thanks bro for the nice video. Personally I would like more edc gear review. I m a Fenix loyal customer, but this is a nice option. By the way my Fenix PD36R is a tool i can't recommend enough as a happy owner!!- Keep on strong the good job.
You have a Pug??? I’ve thought you were great but now you are elevated to awesome.👍 that said, I’m impressed by this light. More impressed with the Pug though.😁
Man Im not sure Im ready for a new light just yet but I do like this flat design. It would go nicely with my reate EXO which I edc every day with my S1A olight....... really digging that orange
Thanks for the review.
Disappointed the pocket clip isn’t double sided so I can clip it onto the bill of my hat. Other than that this is the best edc light I’ve ever seen
The baton3 is my favorite, but I like this light. I depend on the hands free feature of the baton3. Light on hat gets used a lot.
I like lights that have the 18650 cells. This makes it so that you can replace the battery once the batteries start to degrade after a year or two.
I like olight for its savings in initial cost but I've recently had a failer in a brand new olight battery. The light worked fine after replacing the battery. Hope this helps
Thank you for an excellent review.
Bought 1 using your code! Thank you!

Do you think this laser would work on pointing out spots on the house to the customers,as I do house inspections during the daylight?
Hey Olight! I want a light like the Arkfeld with an integrated knife blade. I don’t like carrying lots of small stuff in my pockets, but I really use a knife daily. I want a light that has a blade in it. Something to think about.
Wonderful review
I love my Arkfield, it’s my new edc and the cat amusement laser light 😂
Nice review and video! Looks like I have to add 1 for edc.
Do you know if this flashlight comes stock with a protective piece of plastic film over the lens that needs to be removed?
Very informative my man thanks! I want a arkfield
I can't stop thinking about sootch using 1000 lumens in a restaurant on a menu.
I'm still a little leery of EDC lights with integral batteries that usually can't be replaced. I have had so few problems with small but reasonably high power EDC lights that can just take a lithium AAA battery like the Streamlight Microstream (or your preferred flavor). This looks cool though.

It's ok you will eventually grow out of being a boomer and stuck in your ways one day. Built in batteries last a very long time. Don't set your pocket on fire, Sootch ;)
How is the throw? I work communications construction and I use a old tlr-7 (not comfortable to carry at all, but i don’t use it on my pistol anymore) have for pointing down potholes and searching for utilities, if I kneel down and really study it works out most of the time, but I’d rather not be kneeling down on wet rubble or mud all day, especially when the weather is bad. If this isn’t ideal but you have any other recommendations for that kinda stuff please let me know! I work 10-12 hour days but we only pothole about 1-3 hours tops. Of course the flashlight is not always on that entire time maybe 2 minutes tops, about 5-10 times. The potholes are typically 4-7’ deep, about 1x1’ in depth at access, even smaller as they descend
I just wish the clip was the type to hook up to your hat brim. That’s one reason I’m second guessing buying one.

I want the light, i love it. The main issue is the non replaceable battery. I like beeing able to replace my battery
Can the apple watch magnetic charger be used to charge the flashlight? I like the idea of the magnetic charger, but I don't necessarily want an exclusive charger just for one item on my EDC.
I'm a bit of an OLight fan boy but that button seems hard to press, looks like you were struggling to get the laser on and keep it on. Is it really that hard to press?
Yeah lets use a $100+ cutting edge flastlight as an impact tool and hope nothing goes wrong with its delicate circuitry.
What distance does the laser reach out to realistically? PS thank you for using metric! Hello from Sydney, Australia
I never understand how youtube reviewers dont criticize integrated non removable batteries, when the battery is dead on that device, you will throw the whole thing away, really great for todays sustainability goal. I dont even bother Olight as they go more and more against anti consumer.
I had a creeper creeping on me while walking the dog. I flashed him with 40 thousand lumens. All I heard of him was yelling holy f ing sh#t. Yeah flash lights can be weapons.
actually there are plenty of brands making tactical or EDC flash lights in China, and most of them sell their products abroad. Take Acebeam, for example, they make wide range of different flash lights for different purposes. X75 with 80000 lumens , K75 with 1560000 cd. I'd like you to review some Acebeam flash lights, especially their new products, tactical flash lights P17 and P18
My $20 flashlight lights up my living room like it's noon in the desert. it is also made of steel. Two double A battrries every couple month and I'm set to go. of course my wife has one and we have a spare in the house. Don't leave home without it.
Do you need to click through the lumen settings everytime or can you leave it set on say 300 lumens ?
@ellisgarvin

I've heard in other reviews that it has a memory setting and will use the last setting when you turn it back on. I think the 1000 lumens you always have to double click to access. Also, this video didn't mention it, but it also has a strobe if you triple click.
Just got 2 Arkfelds in one for me and the wife to use at work But the laser is useless outside in any kind of daylight and that was the whole point of me buying it
Is Cool White (CW) or Neutral White (NW) better for the Arkfeld?
Have you ever checked out any of the nebo products? Iv had really good luck with their products and they’re only like $30-40 bucks.
