Half step bend? How do you bend a note on a harmonica? I’m a guitar player, so I understand bending notes but how do you bend on a harmonica? Appreciate your lessons very much. I’ve always wanted to learn to play harmonica.

Change the position of your tongue, you can change breath force as well. Little of both works the best for me

@anthony It is a bit tricky, but this is how I do it: -you create a bit of a vaccum like force in the back of the throat (or in the back of the tounge) as you use the tounge itself to create that force One tip to get the idea of how that tounge stuff works is this: -stick your finger between the lips and suck it with the help of the tounge. You will notice how the tounge rises in the soft palate of the mouth. Now that you know how to involve your tounge, you create a small pathway for air between your tounge and throat, so when you draw air through harmonica, the air will bend the note. Start bending 4 hole. 2 and 3 are a bit trickier to get a round bend. I use a Marine Brand from Hohner. It is very responsive and easy to bend on it. Good luck ! And practice makes perfect. I rembemer having a sore mouth for days by only practicing bending. Good times! ^_^

if ur a beginner and cant get a tone out of -2. just do: 3 4 -3' 3 have some fun and then practise 2 draw :)

So why not a three blow instead of a to draw for that first note? They are both G and it's easier to slide up to the four draw.

How do you know where your lips are on it? Over? Which hole that's what I always get to me.
