I play this game as well but you never start with ball in hand; you play the first shot based on where the cue stops after the break. Another variation of this involves putting the 8 ball dead in any pocket then throwing out four balls at random (solids or stripes ) using ball in hand on the 1st shot you make the first 4 balls in any order and then the 8. The key to this game is focusing on each of the first 4 balls to ensure that you make them because if you miss the 8 is dead.

Breaking from the last position our cue ball ends up (a bit like in straight pool) should be fun too :)

Is there a penalty if you scratch on the break?

We've always counted a scratch as a stroke. Same as a penalty in golf basically.

Your voice sounds different like your growing up and in a real match you cant move the cue where ever you want to start your run.

this drill is really just practicing position and pattern play

Your microphone is muffling your voice. In your previous setup your words were quite clear. Just sayin...Good lesson otherwise.

This looks so piss easy. Its not going to teach you anything, first of all you should be allowed to move the cue ball after the break because you cant do that in the real game. Amd most the shots after you place the cue ball are straight forward.
