Hi Eddy: I am a new dog breeder of Olde English Bulldogges and your info is the spot right on. There is much to know and who to associate with. A person is known by the company they keep. This is a very true statement and it goes for the breeders out there also. You have spoken amazingly and the most sound advice that has been given on this video. Please keep up the great work, ie perhaps different breeding topics would be great to hear from you also. But a good foundation of info like you have given is worth its weight in gold. It usually means the breeders gets 1st pick if they want to hold back, or 1 buyer, then the stud owner gets to pick from remaining pups.

I'm trying to start of by breeding mini pin and German pin,not really into the pitbull thing.

Hi Eddie, I watch your video on Tips for new Dog Breeders, I found it very informative and well done. We are looking to buy a Golden Retriever puppy for my 16 year old daughter, and I am also looking into what it would take to also breed this dog, or another in the future. What do say about someone like me who would like to try breeding for the first time, and to see if that is something we would like to continue with, or perhaps only once, or very limited, not so much as a business. I have read that we would need to obtain breeders rights when purchasing a puppy. I remember growing up, how our German Shepard Collie mix gave birth to several large litters, and what wonderful experience it was for us.

But they rather stick with the excuse of "I need that price, it covers the costs of vet bills.. . " Etc etc. I tell them they can find another source of income that doesn't exploit both buyers and the animals. Because they know too well, they can but they won't. Yall need to open your eyes and see those kennel clubs are exploiting us by money gauging us with those crazy fees. One reason why I do not "title" anymore. Money doesn't grow on trees and I need my income to pay my dogs vet bills, food, beddings, and my own survival necessities. Not throwing my money away for some snobby, arrogant showoff rig. I am not doing this to brag about how perfect my dogs are. Because, for a moment of wisdom, no dog is perfect. I contract my dogs to health tested females whose puppies grow up as service dogs. Not show-offs We give back to the community. You are extremely out of line posting that remark. Good day to you.

Blueshire Cavaliers who told you what to do with your dogs,me? Never I am the I am the one that is attacked regularly because I have a lot of dogs better read my posts ? A cavalier rescue made a formal complaint against me I am now right in the middle of suing them and win or lose I don't care because when they had to give their an attorney a $5000 retainer ,I won already. My two brothers are my attorneys! They're the best in the state, unlike most attorneys they know dogs and kennels,because we are from a family of 5 generations of dog breeders they worked in our kennel since they where 8 for my father. As far as the cavalier club remark they're very irate if anyone does anything they don't like and have put lots of people out of the state club here for various reasons! That's what I was referring to,if you're down with mixes they would go crazy I think you didn't understand my remark.

17:26: I've experienced that just yesterday. The breeder asked me questions, I answered honestly. I have nothing to hide. I even offered to let her follow me on my vlog about my own program. When I asked her questions to know who I am dealing with and where the dogs are coming from, the breeder suddenly became hostile toward me and tried to end the text conversation. I still have the screenshots. I even told them my family is willing to come to see the dogs. At first, the breeder probably thought I was an ignorant buyer ready for any puppy. I have noticed after I asked for the second time for their vet's name and number to validate if their dogs are health tested, that is when they took off, leaving me, as a buyer, to think they are back yard breeders and are hiding all sorts of not so good things about their program. I don't care if I made a mistake, the breeder did not handle that professionally and was very dismissive and rude.

I wouldn’t sign a contract that a customer brings me. We own the dogs and select who I do business with. With that being said, we would always treat the customers like family.

I just keep my circle small. I see too many toxic people in the dog breeding community. It's scary. I see many breeders develop a false sense of pride once they have a dog having litters. They think they're on top of the world, so they look down on people. When people come looking for a good dog, there are breeders who take things way too far, like acting like their dogs are too good for certain customers. Evening trashing other breeders they have partnered with.
