Charles Boyle is the best detective. He might not be as brilliant, but he knows how to work in a team, does not get brought down by petty rivalries and ego trips and works harder than everybody else. In a real setting, he would be the best person to work with (innuendo aside)

- Jake is the best at thinking outside the box - Charles is the best team player - Amy is the best at following rules - Rosa is best at intimidating - Terry is best at leading the team - Hitchcock & Scully is the best of their time (i guess) - Holt is a bit of all of the detectives above (+ hardworking because of his social status)

I think saying Amy is the best at following the rules undersells here abilities. She is the best at logically solving traditional cases. Jake is better and unorthodox thinking and solving unusual cases. But Amy is better at solving traditional cases.

Are we ignoring how Jake knew that Cheddar wasn't Cheddar in one of the heists and deduced where Cheddar actually was, all from realising that Fake Cheddar and Holt's footsteps weren't in sync?

The Jake monologue is S+ tier, if you're talking individually... Jake Peralta is the best. However, so much of their success is based on teamwork, and Charles Boyle is the ultimate team player. He gets along with everyone, hangs around with everybody, works the hardest and is the most supportive man in the entire precinct. Contributing to so much of his peers successes definitely makes him the overall best.

For me, Amy really proved she was a badass detective when she went undercover in a maximum security prison, aligned herself with a dangerous murderer, and uncovered vital information that saved Holt’s life

Except Rosa was going to do the same thing and probably better but she couldn’t because an inmate recognized her. This also shows that Rosa puts away more dangerous criminals.

From what we see I'd say Charles is the best cause he works hard and isn't affected by emotion a lot (unlike Jake) but because of Sarges Mr. 99 title and the highest numbet of arrests that come with it, he has to be the best of the bullpen

I absolutely this factor about Brooklyn-99 that nobody is unqualified. All of them have the ability to solve different types of cases, and they do that well. And they have a great captain who recognises their speacialties and assigns them cases based on that. No one is just a "comic relief" there, even if all of them are funny in their own ways.

I love when Charles solves a case, he is shockingly determined and uniquely talented in everything. Plus he's almost never wrong and works well

Jake is smarter than everyone gives him credit for. His childish nature makes people seriously underestimate him, But when he has time to shine he really shows how good of a detective he really is!

I love that Charles is getting his recognition. He’s often laughed at but he is brilliant and has a pure heart. ❤

Are we not going to discuss the fact that Holt endured his soup-sullied pants for 4 whole minutes before finally deciding to do something about it?

I think that time can be explained by the time it took to clean up as much as he could then to take his pants off while sitting and staying hidden behind the desk. So he had everything ready before calling in Gina.

i think my favorite moment is how Holt went crazy when the kidnapper took cheddar. "Oh, I see, you have a knife. But what you need is an umbrella." "Tell him why, tell him why!" "Because there's a f*cking storm gonna rain down on you, PUNK."

But they stated that they would rather be underestimated and do paperwork rather than the “glory boys” and stated that they would rather leave that to the younger generation

In my opinion. They all have their own strengths. Charles is the best team player, Jake is the best at thinking outside the box, Terry is the most responsible, Rosa would be the best at undercover work due to the fact no one knows anything about her, Holt is the most in control of his emotions and having the best one liners, Amy is the most organized and by the book. Hitchock and Scully are the best at food, Gina….. is gina, for how else can she be described? The rest I have no clue.

the whole scene where ernest (yo-yo guy) was having trouble hearing holt was hilarious-i was trying not to laugh bc my whole family’s asleep 😂

This show is unparalleled. Perfectly cast Perfectly written. Perfectly delivered.

I'm currently watching the whole show. On season 4 right now. So so good. The casting is great.

I love how you can see the dentist’s thought process in his final interrogation. He clearly starts with statements like “that’s not true” and “no I didn’t” because they don’t actually confirm anything and he figures he can get away with saying them, but as he gets more agitated he continues talking and slips. It makes the whole thing way more believable than if he was just silent and then confessed out of nowhere. Really well written scene

Hitchcock and Scully were the best for a long time. Then they ate chicken from Wingsluts. Now, they’re still the bests, they just don’t try as much so they don’t get extra work.

I love how the video switches from jakes to terrys in the same clip that scene was the perfect spot to switch

I so wanted Charles Boyle to win the Halloween Heist. He is brilliant and truly deserves at least one win.

The transition from Jake to Terry was immaculate

Jake is the epitome of the word detective in the show. No disrespect to others. Love them all. But the word detective is equal to Jake "Sherlock" Peralta.

Hitchcock & Scully where awesome detectives when they could be bothered to work.... love it how they pawned Boyle when they solved his case!

Captain holt , Terry and Charles are the best they close all their cases are hard working and team players . Jake , Amy and Rosa are great but they have huge ego problems that often disturb the life’s of their colleagues

Imo opinion the squad are an amalgamation of the best detective Jake thinks outside of the box and sees things other people might not, his child-like personality helps lighten the mood and make everyone around him feel safe Amy’s intellect is rivalled only by her ambition to be better, that makes her determined and focused, meaning there are making no mistakes Captain Holt is a natural born leader, he isn’t afraid to speak up and defend others when they can’t and that makes him extremely brave and honest Charles isn’t the most physical person but he is very hardworking, his talents help him fit in and become the most useful person in the room and be a team player Rosa is the most versatile and volatile person and that is important when facing dangerous people, fighting fire with fire What Terry makes up for in strength he also makes up for his care for others, he is a parent first and foremost and makes him the ideal person to approach with any problem Gina is absolutely open minded and creative. She has a charm no one else possesses and that can make her cold yet very understanding Hitchcock and Scully are the worst detectives yet they share the strongest bond, having a friend by your side is important and they remind us of that every day. In this line of work a partner is also important , the world can be a very lonely place so to have that friend always be there for one another is the best thing, no matter how weird things get

santiago or holt easy they’re the smartest constantly know what’s happening before it happens and take their jobs more seriously than anyone else in the team. yes boyle is a better team player but that makes him a better partner not a better detective his contributions to cases are accidents 99% of the time. he still deserves the world though love that boy
