I love LV and I've collected a bunch. But Gucci, I think is timeless. Growing up, my mom had a lot of Gucci bags...she had a collection from the 60's & 70's and they are beautiful. They are not as common looking and not everyone has them and I love that about Gucci. Makes you feel just a little bit more special. 💕💕

And to add to this a year later. LV quality has gone down. The leather feels so cheap. I feel the leather and it’s flimsy and thin. Meanwhile when I wear my Gucci bag it’s heavy more sturdier plus it has that real leather smell.

I want both! But have the speedy and gonn go for the Gucci. Thanks for great review.

I got mine today.. Gucci tote, but i have to return it because it has defective stitching.. the packaging of gucci is so superb though its so luxurious, also got an eco bag. Lv packaging is so poor and not impressive at all.

@@st4rstuck yes, I’ve had it for about a month. I love it better than all the nerverfulls I had. The straps and leather are much better. The bag is soft so I recommend a purse organizer.

I have this exact Gucci Tote. It is well worth the money and it’s an investment. The quality of Gucci is vintage and retro looking which is more of my style. In my opinion, Louis Vuitton is more easily copied. Lastly, Gucci is more of a structured tote which visually is more appealing to me. My ❤ is Gucci.

Honestly i’m Lv girl and I do gucci marmont too. If you don’t treat the vacetta before don’t wear it or get damier ebene. The monogram you can not wear it on rainy days at all . Spray with apple guard first. The both looks great but price of Lv went crazy higher.

I just got the new Matelassé Gucci Leather tote in black and was wondering how it was in comparison to my 3 LV NFs.

I purchased the DE Neverfull Mm with the new style handles and I’m very happy! They are way softer than the old treated leather. Also, I use an organizer so it is working great. Love your Ophidia though, so stylish and functional and the additional inch of strap drop is very comfortable I bet! I have bigger arms, so mine isn’t easy to wear with a coat. 😀

@@MUFC19XFACT, I’m not exactly sure, but I bought my Neverfull MM DE in 2020. My SpeedyB 30 has the other style leather and there is definitely a difference. The old treated leather was much harder, shinier and less pliable. The new leather is a matte finish and much softer. Just my observation.

@@Julie0001 the Neverfull DE used to have shiny handles like the Speedy straps which were hard. My straps on my Neverfull DE have a matte finish and are much more pliable and comfortable to wear.

The Neverfull resale value is insane. I purchased a damier Neverfull 10 years ago. I recently sold it for more than I purchased it for.

Does anyone have the Gucci Ophidia tote in white? Is there color transfer and how about wear/tear?

I have the NF and dont use it only because the straps drive me nuts. They are too small and one keeps falling off my shoulder. And after a while they start to dig in my shoulders so I end up carrying it in my hand.

In general, fabric bags are harder to maintain than leather bags no matter how good you take care of it. If you're going for everyday, go for Neverfull.

The Gucci is a canvas. I actually got caught in the rain twice in last week. Got a piece of paper towel and wipes it off. I’m still happy, I freaked out when it started raining but she doing good.

I’m torn now. Was going to get a neverfull to add to my LV collection but now I’ve seen this......might have to buy both 🙄☺️

Hate the straps on the never full it digs into your shoulder when it’s too heavy and also if you don’t have skinny arm it hard to wear over thick jackets. Also a lots of people have it. I have it too but I think the Gucci looks gorgeous. I would say get the Gucci tote!

I purchased the Gucci ophidia tote about 2 months ago and l truly have no regrets.

I own the Gucci but sadly mine has some wear and tear on the edges of only a year of having it - and I haven't used it to the fullest because of the pandemic (and I use other bags sometimes of course). Have you noticed this? What are my options

Beautiful comparison! I have the Neverfull MM but I’m loving that Guicci! And the price point. I have the LV Arsty and it has that suede/micro fiber lining and it does not look cheap at all. It’s an expensive bag. Guicci knows what they are doing lol. They do that on purpose . I love the Guicci when it has the green and red.other than that I don’t buy it . I think the Me earful wins though because it can go with more stuff.

I got caught in the rain twice last week and there were no spots left,. I keep paper towels in my car, so all I did was wipe it off. I was scared but I kept eyeing it and I’m still happy. 😊😊😊

I love both bags. My Neverfull is in Damier Ebene. I wanted to use it for work, so I wanted one that was weatherproof. I always liked the Ophidia line, it’s very classic. Sometimes Gucci goes too over the top, but I think the tote is just right in terms of embellishments. LV is just getting crazy with the price increases. My first LV bag was my Speedy 25. I bought it in 2001 for $350. Two years earlier, I bought my first “good” bag, a Coach saddle bag which is still beautiful, and it was $200. The price difference was nowhere near what it is now.

I have gucci rania more than 7 years, the bag is still good. My alma bb, bought 2 months ago, the hardware change its color (bottom of the bag.. like oxidized or something)

I have both, Gucci by far is better quality, more comfortable and better overall. LV was disappointing 😊

I like the Gucci tote much more

I think LV has a better resale value if you are looking at reselling , I mean Gucci does not have good resell value. If you spend 1000$ on handbag you also want to look at resell value, just in case you are bored of the bag and want to get rid of it.

You are 💯 right! Gucci resell is just not there. And I looked on resell websites to see how this Gucci tote wears and the corners wear out just like the LV Graceful corners wear out so it’s basically the same issue. I mean, a bag that one will wear will have wear and tear 🤷‍♀️ Some people can hate on the NF all day long but the bottom line is that it’s pretty much the holy grail tote that everyone is comparing almost every tote on the market to and it’s a workhorse. That Gucci tote is beautiful and looks substantial (better straps and quality material interior) but sadly the resell value is just not there. 😕
