Thank You Sir. I have a different version of a Craftsman 25cc weedwacker and it takes the packman tool. That kit and your tutorial saved me $$. I had tried everything from filter replacement, gas/oil replacement, spark plug replacement and could not get the trimmer to run properly. After watching this and making adjustments to the Carb it's my 3 year old trimmer operates much better.

I really gotta thank you for this video. Just replaced the carb on an old craftsman trimmer that my dad gave me and I had no idea how to adjust it. I knew that’s why I was having problems with it smoking and not wanting to cycle properly. Thank you so much for helping me restore my trimmer

For some reason, every spring I have to re-adjust my carbs. It runs perfectly all season but when it sits over winter it requires adjustment. Having said that, I have this video bookmarked because as the title says, it's "The BEST" video on adjusting these carbs. Thank you good sir for your expertise!

If you store it with fuel sitting in the fuel tank and carb it can clog the little jets and ports. I'm thinking they are getting more clogged every year... I'd look into cleaning the carb... Just my opinion tho. im not expert.

Ex: correct length and diameter per line, correct line to place filter on ( best type filter as well ), correct location on carburetor where each line goes. How to verify each line is functioning correctly. Thank you sir !

You made it look way to easy. I have an old model Craftsman brushcutter that I have already replaced the brittle gaskets. I sprayed carb cleaner just to see if there was any issues before swapping things out. Anyway, I've been trying to get this thing to stay running. The high side is just for idle and the low side is when you hit the throttle??? I have not googled the answer to that question yet. A K20 replacement gasket kit was used but still fails to run. A new carb will probably be my best bet if one is still available

Thanks man.

First that happened to me with a Husqvarna 128LD the plug with the R (resistor) didn't work, And read in one forums confirmed this issue, weird but true. Now about your machine, tell me what tupe of champion plug is it, anything like rj7c or something like that? If so, I would get an autolite equivalent, those work better form me, also, check the high speed jet and turn it about 1/4 turn, maybe is running toos reach and it flooded. Same thing happened to me with a husqvarna and poulan pro lesfblowers, had spark, compression, fuel, air etc, but the checked both low and hig jets and both were over 2 turns particularly the high jet was like 2-1/2 turns sometimes people think that opening the jets would fix a bogging down engine, opening then a little is fine, but not too much, I set then back to 1-1/4 turn and it started right up, then did fine tuning and done.

@@josem.2909 Thanks for replying. Just checked & I have the exact opposite of what u had w/ the Husqvarna, the original plug has a resistor showing about 8,300-8,400 ohms. The New plugs they gave me at Advance, Champ.; DJ8J, & NGK; BM6F Both do Not have resistors; continuity beeping straight thru the electrodes. So I don't get it, must be something fundamental I don't understand about plugs, b/c I do NOT see why any small engine needs a resistor in the plug, seems like the air gap would be Plenty resistance. When I was in high school reading about ignition systems it said it takes at Least 10,000 volts to cross a .035" air gap. So I don't know, I'll let someone smarter than me explain it. The original plug it runs good w/, With the resistor is a 794-00055.

lee isenberg yeah, you got that right, actually my original plug had a resistor too, I just didn't remember quite well if it had a resistor or not, anyway at that time I went and got me a plug same like original and that thing started right up, it too me some really frustrating time until I figured this out. 😅 I admit throwing the trimmer to the ground, I was really upset 😬
