It's a STRUGGLE, I also have one dark circle darker than the other and really dry, sensitive skin, so it's a stingy, cakey mess with most concealers I've tried.

The only silver lining about having these crazy dark circles is that when we are sick and don't wear make up, people actually take us seriously and give us a break. I once had a period and was too exhausted to stand in front of the mirror and put on make up. So I just wore mascara and went to work. Within 5 minutes my boss called a cab and sent me home. He was like I don't know what's wrong but you look seriously unwell and I insist you go home. So yeah milk it girls! Lol

FINALLY someone that actually has dark circles! Im tired of these videos of perfect people "concealing" their nonexistent dark circles, thank you🥰

Finally someone with serious GENETIC dark circles. I get so sick of the influencers who say stuff like, "yea, I have terrible dark circles. I haven't slept much" when they barely have any visible darkness. It's like, sis, it doesn't matter how much sleep I get, how much water I drink, etc., my dark circles are the true definition of dark and terrible every single day. Even in middle and high school, I had these dark circles and would wake up every morning trying to conceal them before school. My daughter now has those same dark circles. Bless her heart. Thanks for this video. We share some of the same favorite concealers.

@@iplay2166 I also have genetic, extremely dark circles and I eat plenty of garlic. I can tell you that grlic isn't going to help. It's about either having extra pigmentation around the eyes or whether the veins underneath your skin are more visible or not, and that's not something you can change, unfortunately.

When i was in elementary school my teacher actually asked my mum if i was sleeping at night because of how bad my dark circles looked! Luckly now i'm used to having them, but i always feel a little bit insecure if i don't put make up on to conceal them

Just an fyi it is now possible to hire Bots to go and thumbs down a video so when you see thumbs down it could also be a creator that hates somebody paying to have thumbs down on that person's video. Just as easily a Creator can also pay to have Bots thumbs up there video. I really wish they would make these practices illegal and it would be easier to find out if somebody is doing it because I just want to know the truth. I really like her videos though because she is harder on the products and doesn't just love everything

You can remove the sponge from the age rewind! It's like a little "tap" on the inside and you'll be able to control the amount of product you want to use, you won't lose a lot of product in the sponge + it's hygienic.

Hey Idk if this helps but I actually removed the sponge and didn’t like it, I had to open a new one I had laying around just so I could use the sponge because I didn’t like how it was blending, it was weird lol

I agree that the Age Rewind concealer is light coverage. It doesn’t do anything to cover my dark under eye circles. Great review video!

The thing about Age Rewind is this: It is the only concealer I have ever tried that does not crease, cake, settle into lines or make me look suddenly older. Add to that the fact that it is oil free and non-comedogenic meaning it can double up as a center of the face, chin etc highlighter without causing breakouts and it is basically everything I ever wanted. For me, it changed my makeup game.

I'm a cancer patient on chemo that swears by Morphe Fluidity Full-Coverage Concealer. I have had bad genetic dark circles my whole life, but this is next level on chemo. This Morphe stuff is magical. My skin tended to be oily, but I'm in my 40's and the undereye area can get very dry if not well taken care of. Sets well with just a finger tap, and the difference is stark when I've done just the one eye. Wide shade range with a variety of undertones, and inexpensive too. Would love to see your comments on this one!

L’Oréal concealer is so nice! I’m a professional makeup artist and I have it in my kit and love it. It’s better then shape tape. It’s not drying. It for St crease and coverage is amazing!

I agree with your take on the Maybelline concealer. It’s not enough coverage.

I love that you throughly explain what each concealer does or is best for.

Love how you just talk so naturally without editing out forgetting words etc...so genuine sounding and I feel like if you didn't like a product you wouldn't be able to endorse it.

One thing that you have taught me Alexandra is that I was putting far too much concealer on but then blending it out far too much so that in the end I hadn't concealed anything.Also I have learnt where is the best place to put the concealer in the first place.Finally I would never have thought of really moisturising the under eye area,to the extent like you have suggested, as being a good thing.I normally use a serum and only a light amount which is obviously after watching you, no way enough to stop the dreaded cakey, dryness I would end up with.I thought my eyes would end up looking puffy if I was to use more moisture on my under eye area. I am only half way through the video and I have been taught so much already from listening and watching your application techniques, Ty I can't wait to try everything out xXx Dii x

I bought a concealer out of Ali Express, its claim was to be a super high cocealer, water and sweatproof, its moist and not greasy. The name of it is YACASI. It comes in a white pot, and it became my holy grail to cover dark circles and my under eyes, but i can use it to cover anything. I have shade nr 2, its a peach shade. Honestly, i was all hooked on using Tart shape over my color corrector, not any more, this is the only product i need. I have never set it with any powder, it moves perfectly with the skin, i have sleept in it and it looked good when i woke up. This is gold to me. GOLD. And it cost nothing 😍Can not recomend this enough. Big hug from Norway ❤️

That Loreal concealer has been my go-to for a while now. I never find myself reaching for anything else since finding it. It doesn't take a lot for a nice application AND the price is BOMB!

Me too it never really worked for me I find colorscience and it cosmetics in the pink tube to be the best for me, keeping in mind I'm 46 and a lil crepey under the eye and I don't expect a miracle smoother :)

Not sure what your moisture prep is, however I found that the only way I could effectively use up the Shape Tape I had was to put argan oil under my eyes, and by the time I got to concealer some magic had occurred, and Shape Tape was my friend.

once i found too faced concealer, there was no going back. I like it better than shape tape, boeing, and cover fx (which is another really good one for dark circles though). Its full coverage and lasts all day if you set it.

I’ve been using revlon candid one for the past three months and I can say that it is the best concealer for my under eyes which has really dark circles. Occasionally I use the concealer all over my face cz I don’t like using foundation everyday, It stays on my skin even after 12 hours, doesn’t crack, I dont have to really retouch or reapply it throughout the day and it is buildable quite nicely. I have light skintone with yellow undertone, and I haven’t tried anything new yet (before I’ve used the age rewind and I can’t find the perfect match for my skin color, now with revlon candid I found mine, no 30)

i’m 14 years old and i got my dark circles from my mom, it literally makes me so insecure ( more than i already am ) i started wearing just concealer because people at school told me all the time that i look sick and tired and now everyone is saying stuff about my make up so i will definitely use these concealers cuz i’m done with my concealer it’s not very full coverage. thank u so much ❤️❤️

Finally someone with REAL dark circles (like mine). I can't tell you how many times it irritates me watching someone complain their about dark circles, AND THEY'RE NOT EVEN DARK! Without concealer I look like the living dead. Although I'm usually a Shape Tape girl, I'm definitely going to try the L'Oreal one. Thanks!! I wanted to try the Dose of Colors one but now I'm worried about the shade range. We'll see.

Helpful tip: Marula oil is GREAT for dry under eyes as a primer for full coverage concealer (the kind that is self setting). It is a quicker absorbing oil (takes like 5-10 mins to absorb instead of 30) and keeps the concealer from creasing while moisturizing the skin. I also use it as my night oil as my last step before bed and wake up with the most plump supple skin. Great for dry skin and the winter months. Acure makes a really good Marula oil at less than a third of the price of the drunk elephant one. Their Argan oil is also excellent. You’re welcome. 😊

the l’oreal concealer is hands down my favourite, you literally put 1 drop and it covers everything so well. it doesn’t dry and crease 🤌🏻

I have never found a concealer that worked for me that didn’t look caked or grey ( I have olive skin) until I found infallible, I love it, the feel, the look and great value for money.

I can actually trust your review because you have serious dark circles like me. I’ve tried lots of “full coverage” concealers but nothing beats tarte shape tape for me. Plus the fact that I don’t have to set it for it look good all day is such a huge plus! I can’t go back to any other concealer

I agree about the Maybelline. I like it for when I go to the gym or grocery store for a quick touchup but it's not full coverage.

The Loreal Infallible concealer has actually replaced Tarte Shape Tape for me 👍 love your videos and your whole esthetics!

Maybelline age rewind is actually really full coverage if you let it sit on your skin for 15-20 seconds to dry a little bit and then blend it out, it’s my fav😼🙌🏻

Brightener first, then neutralizer and then your actual concealer shade. It works much better. A lot of people have tried it that way and got much better results and I personally have, also.

Omgoodness- I am 2nd to fairest foundation in almost every foundation BUT must have warm undertone concealer- Shape Tape Light Sand is PERFECT For anyone who is also fair but has a problem with concealers looking either too pasty or too drab/dull with usual pale colors. (Disclaimer - I think the reason the shade also works for me is that my under eyes, despite the shadowy darkness, or almost a translucent color and I certainly wouldn’t want to match it so that’s why I love light sand) Glad you are supplying this video to everyone here who hasdark circles and your beautiful olive type of skin tone Because it seems like a unique combination and I can see why it might be difficult to find the shades.

The revlon candid foundation and concealer are legit my favorite combination ever, the wear is so good even after a 10 hour shift😫😍

I'm light with olive undertones and very dark circles all the way around, too. And I totally agree about the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind concealer in Neutralize. It's such a great shade match that I keep it around, but idk why, cause it doesn't cover my dark circles and its so thin that it slides right off my oily skin, even after setting with powder foundation, lol!

Bye Bye Undereye needs to be warmed up by your fingers, prior to application. By doing this it makes it more pliable. Pat on with finger, blend with finger, finish off with sponge. (And u need a teeny amount to start out with)

I can't thank you enough that you did this video! I have dark circles that've been living my under eyes without paying rent for my entire life. I've been struggling to find good concealers and this video is so much helpful. Jowita Hecman are you blind? Which one? Loreal has a few concealers, like true match this infallible whatsoever

I’m a typical brown girl and have very dark under eye circles. My current go to concealers are Too Faced, Morphe, Elf camo, Makeup Revolution and occasionally Maybelline Age rewind or IT cosmetics. I do color correct in LA Girl orange for a more heavier and full coverage look

I just wanted to stop by and say how much I love your videos. Your original under eye video is life lol. From one under dark eyed girl to another.

Nothing beats Tarte Shape Tape. Hands down the best coverage concealer for blue purple brown uber dark circles. The ones that nothing covers. I recommend you apply a thin layer blend it lightly with a brush and let it sit for a few minutes before you go over with a beauty blender. Then apply another thin layer and blend out. Just sit back and be wow'd :)

I love warming up the bye bye concealer on the back of my hand and mixing it with either tarte or the benefit, with my corrector under I get full coverage without it being drying looks pretty set or not

I was just watching this video thinking that concealer needs warmed up. Either between fingers or on your hand, it makes it so much more emollient and easier to apply.

I know this video is a year old already, (can you even believe it?), but I still come back to the concealer vids now and then because I too have terrible under eye darkness, and your recommendations and how in depth you get into the descriptions of them really help me choose the ones that will work best for my aging and ever changing undereye. And btw, you can never talk too much Alex. I could literally listen to your voice all day. It's sooooo soothing and calming for me. Andrea Mejia undereye concealer isn’t usually supposed to go up to the lower lash line, that invites creasing and smearing. If you compare the before and afters, just covering the darker area above her inner cheekbone makes a huge different in how “dark” her undereye appears. If you pay attention she is actually covering most of the undereye darkness. Not all, but most.

FINNNAAALLLLLYY somebody understands my problem with the Maybeline Age Rewind Concealer and also what is really full coverage to dark circles. Girl, from video to another it's looks like I like you and your channel... ❤️

@@frenchtoast7742 that can be a good concealer. The only thing is, i have THE DARKEST under eye cirles in the whole world. I know that I can control it a bit with sleeping, drinking water and eating but but with even those I look like a panda

ELF smooth and set under eye powder is the most amazing way to set your concealer. And it’s so so sad that they stopped carrying it in store in most locations that have ELF. I don’t know why. It’s one of the few products I’ve used entirely, and have purchased consistently for years. Its the softest veil, looks like velvet and sets under eyes so perfectly. Doesn’t crease or budge. Doesn’t change the color of the concealer. It brightens and looks gorgeous, and a tiny bit goes a long way. It’s such an excellent product. It’s $4 in store when you can find it. But on their site right now it’s only $1.60. Please try this, Alex!! You’ll love it !! ❤️❤️ Ps- I’ve also used it to set the little fines lines that will crease in my foundation around my smile lines. If I use regular powder, I still need to pat them out with my finger during the day to get rid of that. But if I use a little of the under eye powder, they stay much smoother way longer and sometimes don’t have to be patted out at all. EDIT- it looks like they changed the formula. I knew they renamed it, the name used to be High definition under eye setting powder. But I didn’t realize the formula changed. It didn’t use to have talc, which is allergic too and I’m super sad I can’t use this anymore. But hopefully the way it wears hasn’t changed. Because that would be tragic.

Best you tube video on concealers. Thank you Alexandra for the amazing demonstrations! Concealers have always been very confusing and difficult to buy, and you made my life a lot easier in making a choice of what to buy,

I love Neutrogena 3-2-1 concealer (available at Target). A tiny amount applied with my pinky finger covers the darkness without settling in wrinkles. It's light weight, blends easily, and brightens beautifully!

the loreal concealer is the best, I use it all the time, I have dry skin and I don't need to set it which is great!

Have you considered trying the NIOD Fractionated Eye Contour Concentrate? My eyes were MUCH darker than yours are now and I started using this product in Sept/19 and the difference is absolutely amazing. I've gone from having dark, purplish, red and black circles that span from my brow to cheekbone to having significantly lighter circles. I mean, it is far from being totally gone, but improved so much that I bought 3 more bottles to keep treating the area. I did try so many expensive creams and lighteners, miracle serums, ect and had no improvement at all. It was so bad, I wore sunglasses at night when not wearing makeup to cover it. I was approached in the grocery store once and handed a card for a battered woman's shelter. My husband would get dirty looks when we went out in public together. It was BAD. Someone recommended this product and I bought it and I am so glad I did.

Kelly M you just described my under eye situation. Mine started around adolescence/age 12 and has been with me ever sense and seems to get worse as I age. TY for sharing. I’m going to check this product out.

@@PeriWinkle33957 IMO, It has been worth EVERY cent. It's about $70 Canadian for a 15ml bottle. You only need 2 drops, one for each eye will do it, twice a day. The bottle will last about 50-60 days, depending on how much you use. A little will go a long way. I buy it directly from Deciem. They just had a month long 23% off sale. They almost never have sales like that, but you may be able to find it on other skincare sites on sale. They are the makers of The Ordinary products. Niod is the upper most tier of the skincare they offer. This product honestly changed my life!!

Kelly M thank you so much for sharing. I did google it and saw the pricing $68-$70. Amazon was $80 and I don’t think I trust Amazon for this type of product unless it’s directly from NIOD. The SkinStore is offering 20% off right now, but I need to make sure they have this exact NIOD product. It looks like Nordstrom carries NIOD too. I’m going to do some more research and give it a try.😊

i use aquifore ointment over moisterizer before bed, next day wake up put a moisterizer in it will take away any greasiness.. i love it.. im 53 and my dried fine line skin is plump and soft..

I have raynards so my under eyes are purple and black, i have to use a concealer shade darker than my foundation colour to go over those sections, and after my foundation i go back over with a lighter concealer. Nobody really needed to know but i wanted to comment 🤷‍♀️🙋‍♀️🙋‍♀️

Loved this! I also have fair/light/med olive skin, with hereditary (very) dark circles. Now, you've inspired to test my entire collection of concealers! I have many... I'm definitely going to check out that Glossier Moisturizer, as I have dry skin and can never get enough moisture, especially under my eyes. Btw, my Go-To concealer is the Two Faced Born This Way Multi-Use Sculpting Concealer. I've really been tempted to try the new Boi-ing Cakeless, but have been afraid that might be drying. I'm much older than you, and getting a bit crepey, so there's that. Anyway, thanks for this, Alex! 💖

Oooh me too. I have had some success with MAC mineralize concealer, but I have to really moisturize. Everything else seems to just dry me out regardless of how much. Now I want to check out that Glossier primer too because if that can help and I can help - yay!!!

I have very dark circles, and sunken in eyes. I love, love, love the Loreal infallible concealer, it's the only drugstore concealer that works for me, I will continue to repurchase it
