The Best Combination Mazda 3 Exhaust!

In this video I will be Installing the Corksport midpipe adding it to my existing HKS axleback. It should create an evolutionary sound, along with some tasty power gains, lets find out!! I tried my best to capture all the steps to installing these. So be sure to watch till the very end to hear my initial first impressions of the product and how they preform on the vehicle!

    This is legal to install in California? It's a catback and catback's are fully legal in CA because they don't interfere with the primary catalytic converter. And there's no way it's over 95db which is the exhaust noise limit.

    Did the same with the borla axel back, absolutely love it. Unfortunately I find the corksport axel backs just lose sound at higher rpm

    biggest mistake I made was getting a corksport axle back for my '17 6. i don't like how quiet it is at higher rpms

    So, a good portion of the reason it quiets down is the engine is actually not flowing much additional air at those RPMs due to the stock tuning, if you're in the 2.5t. The resonate frequency changes slightly too at those rpms. the full TBE (only a few of us are testing the downpipe) doesn't lose as much volume at higher RPMs, especially with some tuning like we're running. Tackles a lot of those issues.

    @rycube1 good chance it'll help. Upper end of the rpm range starts to taper off g/s of air into the cylinders quite a bit

    Do you need to program the Mazda 3 Hatchback Turbo fuel system after adding a straight pipe? Because my car consumes gasoline horribly

    That sounds nice. Whoever owned my 2021 Mazda3 before me took the stock off and put a single outlet exhaust on it. Lowered it, too. Which is great. But the tip of the exhaust is comig off at an angle. Looks tacky to me. Things to fix.

    I keep forgetting you dont have the turbo and im like "damn, when will we hear the lil snail spooly boi noises". Sounds great though! I think you're at a good tone. Some unequal length headers might be the only thing that could significantly change it at this point. Im not even sure if anyone makes those for the 3/3turbo yet

    Thank you so much, this video helped me listen the sound of stock vs hks axle back. My dream was the corksport axle back, maybe the sound is better, but I like the simmetry of hks to have an equal release of fumes.

    The CS system is actually not a muffler, it's a resonator. Flow is the same both side ;)

    I have borla plus corksport love it had to make some muffles to stick in the exhaustips for cold starts in the morning without the muffles it crazy loud

    Yo! Great mods. Is the car running great with this exhaust + the intake without ECU tune? Like you don't have an engine light warning or any wrong behavior? I'm looking to mod mine too but nothing too crazy. In Europe the max option for the engine is the 2.0L that goes up to 186hp from factory.

    I have the corksport axle back right and I’m on the fence of getting the mid pipe to get the full catback, is there a big noticeable different in noise with the mid pipe because I find the axle back way to quiet!

    Enjoyed the commentary but wish you could compare the sound and performance to a 3 with a muffler delete. The 2.5L CX-5 sounds good like this and wonder if the 3 would too. Do you have a video like this before adding the cat back?

    Firstly you get no performance for doing a muffler delete, that is purely for fart can sound. Especially on 4 cylinders. If that’s what you’re looking for just search up any 4 cylinder with a muffler delete, they all sound the same. Bad.

    Great video but man the gen 4 are so quiet sound great outside but inside not too loud. I got gen 3 with Borla 2 5 and Sri.

    mazdas dont come 1.5 the new ones dont i think after 2018 or 2019 they are all 2.5 some are 4 wheel some are 2 some are basic models and some are turbo but the engine size is the same 2.5 liter 186 torque 190 horses thats basic model specs

    Any DTC codes appears after install? If I were to do a full exhaust system would any codes appear? Do you still have the catalytic converter?

    That I can’t speak on but with just a cat back system like this you should have no codes. And yes I still have my cats

    They only make the Takeda axle back for the 4th gens currently, not a whole cat back.

    i dont think mazda eeven has that ridiulouse start stop thing on there models they dont do cvt either all there cars actually have transimissions

    @akgonen60 Maybe Mazdas if US market. In Europe all of them have me. My 2024 mazda 3 has it, even 2019 mazda3dp had it as well. In Europe, all cars built after 2018 have it.

    So underneath you car there is a long strip of metal can’t miss it. It’s called a pinch weld, anywhere along it you can jack up the car and put jack stands on the ends!

    The rear diff and there’s like divet spot in the the front I think it’s like a plate or something but that’s where you lift it on a 21 turbo

    If you want to add some extra protection to pinch welds go to Amazon and order pinch weld floor jack pad and pinch weld jack stand protectors. Cost for 4 jack stand protectors around $16.00 and for jack $10.00. I have both, used them on my Lexus IS-F and CX-30. I have magnetic floor jack pad highly recommended it over rubber. You place it exactly where you want it then place floor jack underneath pad.

    On this car and a lot of cars it is actually a single pipe that splits right before the mufflers. On V6/V8 and boxer engines there are actually two exhaust manifolds coming off of the engine that may or may not converge into a single pipe. Inline 4 cylinders are just easier to work on and less parts in general.

    Nah dude ya life is worth more than the exhaust. Bring it it to thw exhaust shop and have it done there in 30 munites. They charge less than $200 for installation but you don't risk the car collapses on youself.

    ... if he was doing this with just a jack, sure. But doing this with Jack stands is not the least bit unsafe. Annoying, laborious, and tedious, yes. But not image.
