Its no surprise and I also have to admit that WoW's powerfantasy of a "Fire Mage" is the best and coolest iteration just because it's so stylish with stuff like "phoenix flames", "hot streak" and "combustion". It's not just the classic "throw a magical fireball" fantasy but pure heated wickedness that makes it so sick visually and from a gameplay perspective.

I've always been surprised that Fire Mage has been so strong for so long. It's a fun spec that people would play even it isn't wasn't so powerful.

Setting the heads on a headset. The sound quality of the microphone was quite nostalgic, thank you :) The fire mage is a great choice, they almost always were amazing.

Blizzard is clearly under the impression that Shaman is perfect since they have no changes being made.

@@antkings2 In order for 2 hand to be powerful, they would need to buff Windfury and just increase the proc rate on resetting stormstrike and windfury, as well as stacking maelstrom. Not much would have to change, we could just ignore lava lash.

I think that with the fire mage and his hero talent sunfury they have achieved what they wanted to convey with the hero talents. I have never played mage, I don't think I ever will but Blizzard has done it well.

I think it's because it's a matter of enjoying said class, and playing something you don't enjoy even tho it's meta, suddenly makes it a chore/job, hence taking the fun out of it majority of the time

This. I'm maining shadow priest just because it looks so damn good, and my #1 gripe, the new shadow form, is now optional with glyphs which is a dream come true. And the blackhole hero talent where you can make it grow? So moist. Only downside is idc about healing so I don't got any other specs but I'll just make a warlock alt for that.

I loved mage since I finally played one at level cap in BFA. All 3 specs have their own rhythm and are fun. Fun fact: the hero talents for the Phoenix are 100% passive options. So no button bloat

I've mained rogue since Legion, and I'm rerolling fire mage for this expansion. Even if Blizz nerf the numbers. Unless they go crazy far and make it literally unplayable, it's still going to be incredibly fun and satisfying to play. The rework of the base spec is excellent, and I love both of the hero specs. At the moment I'm thinking of using a Sunfury build for raid/single target and a Frostfire one for AoE.

I’ve tried to play fire mage for a while, but I don’t like the playstyle, I play fire mage in cataclysm, there I love it. Dots and combustion to make a big dot and spread it. So much more fun then just doing Pyroblast inside of combustion

Clarification, damage is important but damage profile is most important. Mages do have a great profile and util for M+ and that's going drive meta specs. Def agree with Marcel on that.

@@lostheboss7938all rogue specs, enhancement shaman, arcane mage, feral druid, affliction, windwalker, survival, frost dk are all harder than fire mage, fire mage is a joke. it's barely as difficult as destruction

whats making mage good for me is that all three spec are viable and really cool, arcane rework looks dope with splinterstorm ! some classes have maybe 1 or 2 spec that does "decent" or that are enjoyable or feel complete, meanwhile mages 3 specs are dope!

I would love to play Fire Mage, I love the aesthetic, the player fantasy etc. but I hate playing it, numbers are too low, it's hard to do well in low keys and whatnot. I hope the War Within can the issues at least I have with Fire Mage.

Fire mage is not the only class that can do full single target damage to 8 target and cleave more AOE, actually I feel like you totally forgot about Shadow Priest which is mainly designed to actually do single target damage to more than 8 targets and he’s mainly known for this long before any other class

Maybe i'll main fire mage then. I stopped playing fire mage in WoD. I hated the way they changed the combustion spell. The spec is actually more a big burst spec than a DOT spec (what i enjoyed the most, as unholy, affliction, assassination, feral etc..). Glad to see fire mage on top !

In every season at least one mage specc is top tier. Same with Rog, they just love this classes in pve & pvp 😅

The work they put into mage is huge but not as huge as neglect the shamans get. And this is very sad, this just screams that some classes/specs are either not played by Devs or are assigned to some with 0 passion.

It's only one ranged dps tier list video, where I write love letters to all warlock specs, devastation and fire mage but I guess it's bad to praise when they do good work on classes :)

All classes go through buffs and needs and every class spec can easily push +10 keys. It’s not until your in +12-15 keys does it even matter and you actually feel the difference. And even then it comes down to team comp the players etc many many other factors than class at that point. And until your pushing +18-20 keys and trying to get the highest possible is when you can really notice the difference. Play and master the class you enjoy you will get way further in finding quality people that ply with you. And push keys with you!

every single xpac I play fire mage is fucking busted. it's time to create one

I have 2 hours a day free time and I've been spending it all on wow for the past 4 months on my one shaman character (my only character because i don't have time for any other ) getting mounts transmog etc . I AM NOT BUYING WARWITHIN if Blizzard is not competent enough to rework or revamp shamans before the expantion comes out, especially since they have revamped some other classes several times I would assume they have the resources to do it at least once for shamans who will be in desperate need of it when the teir set is gone

Fire mage is always op

This video is very misleading and all it’s going to do is encourage a lot of very casual people to want to main fire mage with very little research or practice and after invest many many hours to max out this class only to be bullied in m+ due to them putting out tank damage. What marcellion failed to mention is that fire mage also has one of the harder rotations in the game that is extremely punishing when making mistakes or having downtime. So if you don’t fully understand your rotation you’ll likely be doing (in current content) 100-200k less overall dmg than you could be doing. Then to correct another statement he made… mage being one of the tankiest classes in the game. This is not 100% false but it should’ve been worded mages CAN be one of the tankiest classes in the game if you press your defensives preemptively. Without pressing defensives before the dmg hits you’re actually extremely squishy. I don’t mean to come off as negative I just wanted to give more accurate information. I appreciate you promoting mage and hope more people make it their main as I have. I just think all facets of the class/spec should be known.

The comment is wholly negative bro, you can spin it however makes you feel better. The fact that mage is difficult is mentioned in the video. If we have to disclaim every single thing in a video, the channel will die in 2 weeks, nobody gives a fuck. Anyone can be bad at a spec and end up doing way less damage than their group expects. That's not the point of the video, the point is to showcase good design and potential for a fun gameplay experience because the class is legit good, in the hopes that people actually enjoy playing a video game, weird huh? Wow being a video game. Also, how the fuck are you correcting a statement we made when you say the statement is not wrong? And how hard are you trying to disagree for the purpose of disagreeing by saying this is not 100% false? My friend :)) gezuz christ What a way to poke a whole in an argument for the sake of finding faults with it and then saying you aren't trying to be negative. The premise of saying Fire mage is one of the tankiest assumes you are using your defensives as intended. You can literally play a tank and die to a frost bolt if you turn off the oxygen supply to your brain. So just because the video encourages casual people to play fire and they may play it suboptimally and have a suboptimal experience, doesn't make it misleading. The video mentions Mage is not easy. The statement that it's a tanky class is true, so I still fail you see how it is not only misleading, but "very" misleading. We take the time to earnestly engage with as many comments and people as possible, however difficult it is with the channel growing as much (yay). but holly fuck me sideways I feel like watching the photons in my cheap light bulb slowly degrade the shade of my white paint on the wall seem way more productive than thinking you seriously engaged with the video and what we were saying.

You are hard promoting a class talking it up like it's going to give insane performance with the same effort as a BM hunter or a Ret paladin. That is the very misleading part. Sure anyone can play a class poorly but there are many classes where u can mash buttons randomly and still perform decently without the receiving harsh criticism from the community members they'll be playing with. I am not trying deter the casual player from rolling mage but trying to better inform them and if you were to read my message all the way to the end I thanked you for promoting mage and hoped more people were to make it their main. Instead you went on some angry tangent for no reason. This looks very poorly on you and I hope you don't make this same mistake again with another one of your supporting community members. I corrected your statement by giving it a proper explanation. As i'm sure you know at the lower levels many players severely neglect their defensive abilities. While some classes such as locks, Havoc DHs, or ret pallies are inherently very tanky even when not pressing defensives mages are the exact opposite. Mages are inherently squishy with the ABILITY to be tanky. But to pull off this feat one must be knowledgeable of the encounters they'll be facing. I understand it is very difficult to fit every ounce of required information necessary but there are ways to present it in a way that in my words isn't "misleading". Again I appreciate the work you and your team provides to the community and I'll continue to watch and support y'all. I just hope you'll take a better approach in the future instead of letting your emotions getting better of you.

I think the best class is going end up being lock. As a 20 year mage this hurts me to say but remember.. fire is only good rn because util, not damage. Lock is getting some nasty util in tww and the numbers are insane already.

@@peanuttgalleriYEP lost blasphemy stun+damage. lost rain of fire's shard gen. chaos incarnate received a massive nerf. crashing chaos is nerfed. chaosbringer is removed from the tree. havoc duration is nerfed. rolling havoc is nerfed. havoc is now a GCD, so it's another nerf. wanna hear more?

Playing the beta, I genuinely HATE the fact it takes so long to kill creatures. I don't wow to become final fantasy. Tuning in TWW is JACKED.

1 million non crit, i barely crit that with full stars alignment on a warrior 😂 ok its beta numbers will be tuned but damn my poor warrior will likely take dust in the whole TWW if nothing changes.

Ngl, that microphone demonstration was a reason to not go for that headset. The contrast is so big with your mic it really showed it was not that good. But yes fire mage goes brrrr

Yeah unfortunately had to agree. Downside is that he is probably using a $400-600 standalone mic, so it is also an unfair comparison. Something better might be comparing it to like the HyperX QuadCast instead.

It's fascinating how people engage with what they hear. At no point did I say it won't be nerfed, I said it won't be hard nerfed. To expect specs that out DPS every other spec in ever aspect of content by 10-20% to not get nerfed is a special kind of naivete :)

@@MarcelianOnline Absolutely! Part of why I prefer to go for the spec that sounds most fun. If the best of the best for my spec is 5% lower than the best spec, that doesn't feel too bad. When it is a 20% difference, that is another story. Survival is sitting 2nd place in my mind right now because explosions just sound FUN

@@MarcelianOnline That is missleading BM is the most popular because it is the best hunter spec and have been for the WHOLE expansion at this point. BM is also more tanky and has the utility over MM so win because of that. Until you have gear for MM in awakened BM is just flat out better at everything especially single target dps. But even if we consider ALL 3 hunter specs as one thing Hunter is the WORST pure dps class in the game for DPS in raids from WoD until first raid in Dragonflight when i stopped looking at the updates for this, According to warcraftlogs. Mage is the highest class in the game being good. Shadow Priest is second and Warlock is 3rd. Mage has something like 98-99% time above average dps. In contrast (this was before ret rework) Ret has 2% as the lowest.

To early to say what is best.

Arcane is so much more fun at the moment 😂
