The Best City From Each Assassin’s Creed Game

Ойындар

The Assassin’s Creed series has always been great at one certain aspect. And that is recreating and designing the cities. Whether it's the rendition of Rome in Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood, the portrayal of Victorian London in Syndicate, or even the likes of Alexandria in origins, every city in every game has been beautifully recreated from the ground up. That’s why in this video, I want to go over the best cities from each assassin’s creed game. Do remember this video is my own opinion and you’ll definitely have a different favorite city.

Assassin's Creed is an open-world, action-adventure, and stealth game franchise published by Ubisoft and developed mainly by its studio Ubisoft Montreal using the game engine Anvil and its more advanced derivatives. Created by Patrice Désilets, Jade Raymond, and Corey May, the Assassin's Creed video game series depicts a fictional millennia-old struggle between the Order of Assassins, who fight for peace and free will, and the Knights Templar, who desire peace through order and control. The series features historical fiction, science fiction, and fictional characters intertwined with real-world historical events and historical figures. In most games, players control a historical Assassin while also playing as an Assassin Initiate or someone caught in the Assassin-Templar conflict in the present-day framing story. Considered a spiritual successor to the Prince of Persia series, Assassin's Creed took inspiration from the novel Alamut by the Slovenian writer Vladimir Bartol, based on the historical Hashashin sect of the medieval Middle East.

    London in Syndicate rarely gets enough credit, most people tend to overlook it because they hate Syndicate. The game may have its flaws but the city itself was so lovingly created and there's so much attention to detail that you can easily miss if you're not paying attention, you can literally just walk around the streets and alleys and parks and listen to the random NPCs going about their daily lives, there's people having entire conversations, workers doing their jobs, and they even have daily schedules and everything.

    I loved Florence when I went last year. I've read the cathedral isnt worth going inside, but you can never get enough of looking at it. Queues are redicous also. Florence, although touristy, feels much more real than Venice. Venice, much like Dubrovnik, feels more like a museum/Disney Land than a lived in city. Still amazing though. I can also recommend Bologna as a very nice and much less touristy city in the area. I've been to Roma and Aosta in the past and both are great in their own ways also. Aosta obviously being much smaller and very industrial outside of the old centre. There's just something about Italian cities and culture.

    @@Joshua-fi4jiVenice is a lot less busy than Florence and Rome with it being smaller and especially with there being no cars around in the streets and the alleyways. It's honestly creepy at nighttime how empty the alleyways are. I also would have liked to see San Gimigano.

  • @Joshua-fi4ji

    @Joshua-fi4ji

    @@connorwiederich I meant that a higher proportion of those visiting Venice are tourists. Florence, whilst busy and touristy, is still a fully functioning city. Most Venice residents live on the mainland, which is effectively a different city in all but name. The majority of the locals commute to Venice daily for work. I arrived in Venice at night and can agree on that. I think Venice is trying to reduce the number of tourists now, but it's probably too late. On a personal note, I wouldn't want to live in Venice even if it wasn't so touristy. It's really nice and pretty and everything, but realistically you have no green space and getting to the mainland would be a hassle. Nice place to visit though. Rome is bustling and touristy, but tourists are definitely the minority. I'd love to drive my car to Italy and go down and up the peninsula one day. May have to wait till I retire though as I'm not sure I could get enough time off work to do that justice.

A long ride north from Siwa, I remember traveling on the road and seeing a bunch of green in the distance. Thinking to myself “woah what place is this?”. The Green Mountains, quickly became one of my favorite areas and as you go further get to Cyrene. With its notable Roman architecture, always thought of it as a mini Alexandria.

    If you ever go to Kefalonia in real life, avoid Sami. The ruins aren't much to look at and the modern city just feels like a tourist scam. The hiking trails around it and up the Acropolis are nice though and they love Nicolas Cage there - locals were extras in Captain Correlis Mandallin as it was filmed on the island. Kefalonia is a nice island, apart from Sami, and one of the less overly-touristy Greek islands.

    I think I can consider myself lucky for having visited locations from every single game from the AC franchise in real life so far. It is worth to visit each and every one of them and see the difference between the game and the real city. If I had to choose my favourites, they would be Jerusalem, Athens and Rome for their history and landmarks. My least favourite, maybe Alexandria or Havana which are sadly not being taken care of, but still worth to see at least once in life. However, all of them are so different from each other, so many different cultures and with so much history behind...

    Same with you! I hate New york in ac3, but i love it in rogue because the city has a lot of strict areas, and the guard will immediately trigger... for ac4 i prefer havana and kingston... havana because of Parkour and kingston because of enemies' numbers... nassau is great, but it is kinda small and had fewer enemies roaming

    How about a video ranking the games by modern day? Even Unity and Syndicate still do some interesting things with Unity having the glitched server jumps and Syndicate giving you access to Lydia Frye and the two World Wars for a change of scenery, both of which happen through the memory simulation so count as modern day.

    AC brotherhood was the game the intrduced me to AC and whole of GAMING back in 2013. I have played it more times than I can count and still think that Brotherhood is the MOST BALANCED assassins creed game that exist. The inclusion of Stealth, Social Stealth and Combat along with fellow assassins brother felt like we are not juts playing as one protagonist but an actual Master Assassin who can command a small army of assassins. The setting of Rome, The ambience sound we get for different regions, the characters, the story. Yes, they could have made it a little longer but it was still amazing just to play.
