Garry Kasparov is a chess grandmaster and former World Chess Champion. His peak FIDE chess rating of 2851, was the highest recorded until being surpassed by Magnus Carlsen. Kramnik called Kasparov a chess player with virtually no weaknesses. His games are characterised by a dynamic style of play with a focus on tactics, depth of strategy, subtle calculation and original opening ideas.
