you have catagory for Cleaning if thats the priorty and you have a catagory for like foaming. you cannot measure slickness even the guys that make it has no lab style test for slickness. price per wash is just about the only tangable thing you can seperate them on. but I realised it wont matter to all so we had catagories for like best retail luxoury one as well. you have recomendations here for literally anything and everything you could want in a car shampoo.

@@dimmacommunication no worries mate that are all good points to raise I want to hear opinions all the time. Ive used at 2 caps and 4 caps, but all the shampoos as you see them in the orange buckets and in the ghost bucket were used at lowest recomended concentration g wash says 2-4 capfulls but also say 1:1800 . 1:1800 is like closer to less than 1 capful. still works ok at that low concentration but you get much better suds and stuff when you use a couple

Totally impressed with your ability to systematically breakdown the pros/cons of the products without any personal bias or aligence to a particular brand. It's food for thought as my go-to has been the Autoglym 5ltr trade for its VFM>cleaning ability... Might need to try Bilt Hamber. Although the Soft99 foam is strangely alluring!

Well who would have thought a car shampoo vid could be so interesting. Great job Jon, you deserve a well earned break and a stiff drink after all that hard work. My go to shampoos are Bh auto and Chem guys gloss works. These two shampoos do everything I want and need but can see the advantage of the Adams for the summer. I know that you are trying to keep your vids shorter but from the interest and amount of information and advice that you give from my point of view 50 minutes or longer is no problem when you're covering so many products etc. It's a pleasure to watch your channel Jon cheers 😀

Great video John, thanks. I’ve been using G Wash recently, purely because I’ve just had the car coated with a Gtechniq ceramic. I’m impressed with the quality of the shampoo though. I’m new to all this and have been using cheapo stuff from Halfords up to now. I’ve got to say that you can tell the difference! The combination of a good shampoo, a decent mitt and the coating, everything just glides. You feel like you’re not risking damage to the paint - well I hope so anyway.

Really impressive review Jon. I did not realise how concentrated Gyeon and Gtechniq's shampoo's were. I'm no pro detailer, but I do like the feeling of having plenty of product in stock. I think that's what put me off of buying them and the bilt hamber shampoo. Having said that I will change my thinking having watched the review. Once I get through my 5L tub of Auto Finesse Lather, which smells amazing and leaves a nice glossy finish; I will look to get either Bilt Hamber Auto Wash or Gyeon Essence. The other shampoo I use for when I am looking to decontaminate is Chemical Guys Clean Slate, which seems to work fairly well. Keep up the good work.

Once again a great video. Honest and to the point. I've been using Auto Finesse Lather as I was told it was PH neutral and wouldn't strip the glazes or waxes I use. But after hearing you say not to worry about PH levels, I think I'll try Bilt Hampers purely on the cleaning power. I can get gloss and shine from finishing products.

As always a pleasure to watch your vids Jon. I'm using the Gyeon bathe essence myself. I know it's not 5 liters but they do sell them in one litre bottels aswel and not just in 400ml ones. It also looks like they didn't provide you with one of their handpumps. Normally Gyeon delivers these even with 400ml bottles and are quite handy to use. One pump delivers exactly 2ml of product. These pumps aren't perfect either as the product can dry inside the tip of the nozzle and you'll need to pry out with a needle or paperclip first.

Each one of your videos is a treat, Mate! I'm a pro detailer in MTL Canada and I've given up on the usual bucket and mitt wash and now use Optimum No Rinse and Wax on normally maintained cars with quite stunning results for VERY little expense per wash. BUT !! There IS a secret if you want way better than average results. FIRST, pour 5 capfuls into a 5 gallon bucket that has a lid on it because that amount will last you for 10 to 12 washes - AT LEAST. NEXT, take 2 or 3 VERY plush, thick, CLEAN 16"X16" cloths and soak them in the bucket. Fold each cloth into 4 and use ONE surface of the cloth for PER PANEL. DO NOT RE-DIP YOUR WASH CLOTH into the wash medium!!! (This beats the "two bucket method" by a country mile since your wash cloth AND your wash medium are ALWAYS CLEAN AND have NO GRIT in them whatsoever!!) Again: wash ONE panel with ONE side of the cloth and keep switching cloth sides for each new surface. EACH cloth has 8 sides, so 2 cloths should do for the average size car. With the Optimum No Rinse, and Wax, you can do one panel at time from the top down and then dry each panel right away with a soft waffle weave drying cloth spayed with your favourite Quick Detailer as a towel lubricant AND to add another layer of shine to the Carnauba Wax that is part of the Optimum's solution. At first I had doubters but everyone swore that they'd just had their car waxed after their wash! ( I call it a Detail Wash : ). BTW, I take FOUR, separate BLACK cloths and use one per each wheel and when finished, I put them in the wash to clean them SEPARATELY from the cloths I use on the cars. Happy detailing! Sorry for the long comment John - just wanted to get you back for your long vids! : )

Excellent method to suggest for ONR washing, especially now that old man winter has come upon us forcing us to work indoors without the hose. By the way, which plush microfiber do you use on your vehicles for this particular method? I've actually tried Detailing Image's reTHICKulous towels the past and had some moderate success with them.

@@kidoctane Sorry Joseph for the past due reply - only saw it today! : ) Just take any good soft waffle weave drying towel and spray it LIGHTLY with a quick detailer like Chemical Guys VO7 to make sure you don't dry the surface with a completely dry towel and flip the cloth over for each panel. So, two or three waffle weaves should do you for the whole car or maybe 4 for an SUV. Cheers and happy detailing . . . errr . . . washing ! BTW - I'm not familiar with the BRS acronym : ) ?

  • @davidbee8178

    @davidbee8178

    5 жыл бұрын

@@davidguberman4780 David, I got my cloths from Eshine in Canada but and they are thick but PROBABLY no thicker than YOUR THICKULOUS towels. Just about ANY PLUSH towel should do just fine. IF you have any doubts, you can always use 3 or four wash MITTS : ) The principle of the method has more to do with the fact that you don't RE-DIP your wash cloths or mitts into the wash bucket. IF your Thickulous cloths are the thickest possible, then it's all good. If you can remember NOT to rub put to PAT any really soiled areas, then you'll not damage your paint. After patting the really soiled area THEN go over the area again, letting the weight of the cloth do the washing. IF the surface is really heavily soiled, then you may need more than 3 or 4 cloths so and not to re-dimp then in your wash media which both dilutes AND soils it. Just also remember to wash your wheels with 4 separate black (if possible) wash cloths and clean them afterward separately in the washing machine! Happy detailing! Don't hesitate to write with any more Q's : )

the UHD is a great shampoo. but the problem is it was really impossible for lots of them to win this shootout just based on the fact if you use like the ones that are sub 10p a wash. they are really just as good (and that includes autoglyms own trade shampoo which is the second cheapest per wash in the test). but as a retail product is a cool one to use.

I agree with the SRP comment but it works well on my paintwork, marking the trim is a huge minus point though. Just used their ultraHD wax for the first time and seems to be holding up well, it also marks the trim, on the plus side it makes me work slower which helps achieve a good finish.

I had to almost keep saying that to myself though because there were so many good soaps that I would use in this line up. I wasnt sure if bath essence or BH should have won as well because I really like these 2. but ultimately the around twice the cost per wash of the car chem. thats what swung it this way for me.

Im not sure which is the lesser of two evils really.

May need to try it out using less product and gauge the results again. I find it to clean well, and works flawlessly with their coatings. Foams decently, but sometimes I have to shoot some more water in my wash bucket to reactivate the suds. Yet again, I wish there was an importer for Bilt Hember and Koch Chemie. They seem to always perform and have unique characteristics. Fantastic video.

You are the best! This is probably the 10th video of your I've seen, subscribed after the 3rd one. i like how you test many different brands of a similar/same product and either the same of slimier conditions. Very few people on youtube bother to compare even two products together let alone what you are able to do. My only issue is that so many of your products are either only sold in European if they are sold he its a higher price, partly do to shipping, exchange rate, and limited availability. So not sure how to handle that since you may also face the same issues with American products. Anyway, keep up the good work.

thanks you for the kind words, theres a lot of channels springing up doing similiar things.. you wont see many doing videos like this they cost about 10 times more to make than they recoup and do less views than a 2 minute video on one product if I put lots of foam in the background and say its amazing in the title. But I find them fun to do and hopefully they are interesting enough.. yes its a bit of a problem because lots of euro products are not viable priced in the UK and vice versa.

Great video and i respect your findings and your winner, i have tried well over 20+ shampoos and the number 1 thing i look for is slickness (which you did not mention much in the video) which is why Carpro reset is my favourite as it is super slick and i use it at 20ml so pretty cost effective aswell and it foams well and not overally expensive to buy either, so i find reset the best all rounder and i have Gyeon essence also but will still use reset, based on how good it is to use and slickness.

I honestly couldnt measure slickness jason, when I planned out the video ages ago it was one of the things I was gonna try and look at and rate them on. a couple of the companies that manufacture also say there is no like lab style test for it.. its a bit like a bar of soap, the more you lather it up and wet it up the more it slips out of your hand.

I was wondering, as you're such a big fan of Carchem 1900:1 - have you tried their Ceramic Suds shampoo? ( Si02). I'm really interested to see what you think of it. Significantly more expensive than 1900:1 per wash but as you said, I also don't mind paying for a product that's worth it. Interesting to see the durability of the Si02 protection it offers too.

even with a correct prewash, even by rincing off my glove after treating a single element (door, hood) is still get some new paint marks. my opinion is : as soon as you start to physically touch your paint and apply even a very light touch with your shampooed glove you create the condition for the smallest remaining part of dust to deteriorate your varnish. the safest way is to stick with high pressure washer with shampoo tank and respect the correct distance. the shiness result may not be as deep but the paint stay more preserved. just my two cents.

Great video. Clearly lots of hard work behind the scenes gone into this video. I have used Bilt Hamber and I think it's probability the best overall. However I moved to Car Chem because of value as I started to put the shampoo in a foam cannon. I can put lots in the lance for cheap and the Bilt Hamber shampoo doesn't work well in a foam cannon. I think there are two lots of people. The usual chaps that wash their cars once a month at best. Then the nutters that spend 5 hrs a week to wash their car and put everything into foam cannons. For the the first lot, use Bilt Hamber, for the second bunch try Car Chem.
