are the San Jauns similar to the sierras with regards to wild camping. basically anywhere that meets the leave no trace criteria?

I think Colorado has more land considered “BLM” than California - both states are exceptional for camping nonetheless!

Can you share the general location of where you were? I plan on taking my son camping in July and San Juan looks beautiful. You don’t have to share the exact spot, but were you more North or South? Close to Telluride or Durango?

If you ever need a good secret camping spot in the San Juans, I'm your plug. I'll give some secrets out for free: elk camp, scotch/barlow creek, mystic and ames falls... The San Juans have so many hidden gems and it's so great that nobody knows about them, but anyone watching sheety's channel deserves these haha.

Going in 3 weeks where in a general vacinity might this be?

Find em yourself. It’s hard to get a spot camping in my own state I live in because of tourists so, any blm usfs spots you have to gate keep.

Dude posts a video on the “BEST” campsite & then ignores everybody who asks where it is. smh 👎🏼
