I like that I've only used clip on bells before not so good in the wind though i might have to invest in one. Thank you for sharing

Great for big fish Stephen. But only works if a fish is taking line👍

have you tried the "Sea bite" alarms which work on vibration, they give an audible and visual alarm, the body is also fluorescent and can be charged up from your head torch.

I have but i found that wave knocks and sometimes wind set them off especially on my continental rods. If im scratching around for little fish I'll just watch the rod but for big fish i like to sit back sometimes 😂🤦‍♂️

The onr specifically for sea is actually the sea bite which works on vinrations but i find it goes off without a bite sometimes. This bite alarm is just a generic one where the line sits in a roller but it works very well

Any danger with strong fast fish being lost with braid? Im worried with extreme pressure and heavy drag and super fast line being taken when deep sea fishing could damage the braid...if the wheel very smooth inside?

Yes the wheel is very smooth inside anf ive never had any damage to the braid with any fish runs👍

Could you tell me what kind of battery go in the alarms I got 3 from China with no battery inside it says something about blue battery I haven't got a clue thank you

If the alarms are the same style as these they take the little button batteries. I don't know the code off my head but I tend to buy a pack of assorted button batteries for £2 from a discount shop and work it out from there

What happens if you have a running tide and your lead moves ,does it set it off.?

If you have have your clutch set lose enough for the tide to pull line off the reel then yes it will go off, if your hold your line on your reel then the only way this will go off is a fish runs. The line sits in the wheel so it wont work on little fish rattling the tip

Do you release the line from the roller when playing the fish as I guess there would be quite a bit of tension pulling on the roller. Thanks

Yes as soon as you know there is a bite release the line and fight the fish as normal 👍

You need a bite alram If fishing for stingrays and you're not next to your rod. Obviously you don't catch 1000lb marlin from the shore but of course you already know that🤦😂
