The Best Bike Path on the Cape - Shining Sea Bikeway

Спорт

Few trails can match the scenery on the Shining Sea Bikeway. Cape Cod is beautiful and the bikeway traverses some of the best Scenic variety of any bike path on the Cape.
Outdoors With John
Hi I’m John and I enjoy being outdoors. I am passionate about hiking, biking (road cycling and mountain biking), backpacking, bikepacking, and snowshoeing. I love traveling in our Class C Motorhome and visiting our national parks. I enjoy the natural and historical aspects of the outdoors and often share that on my videos. I also enjoy putting together videos that capture my adventures. I’m not an expert, and I try not to offer too much advice. If you’re like me, I suspect you’ll find value in most of these adventures.

Now that's a fantastic path, especially along the coast! I beat that it can be pretty popular. Added feature is for sure the lighthouse! Perfect! Bruce and Otis

Bruce and Otis, I was crowded, that might be the only downside to this beautiful rail trail.

Looks like a fine ride on the Cape. I think the last time I was on the cape proper was when I was 10. I dug the Allman Bros knock-off music too.

I know that did sound real familiar. I hope I don't get a copyright strike, I downloaded it from KZread music.

Hi John. I'm impressed with your "diversity of movement mode" (i.e. walking biking)! 🙂 As info, I spent a weekend, two separate times at Cape Cod - October, 1971, October, 1974. Both times, my emphasis was the hiking trails in the National Seashore. The first time, I rented a bike and rode the paved trails over the sand dunes in the Province Lands Area. This included the Province Lands Visitor Center, Coast Guard Station and Race Point Beach. Questions: Have you hiked any of the trails in the National Seashore? My favorite was the Atlantic White Cedar Swamp Trail near the Marconi Station. Have you ridden any of the asphalt paved bike trails in the National Seashore (as in what I described above)? Doing the hikes and bike ride gave me a much better look at the true beauty of the National Seashore. I also found that going in October, the crowds were minimal and temperatures nice. Thanks for your great work on your channel, and God Bless!

Ken, I have been to the Cape a few times myself. I have ridden all the paved bike paths they have. Some of them are new since you were last there. On this trip my friend and I rode the Province Land Bike Trail and the Head of the Meadow Bike Trail in addition to the Shining Sea Bikeway. We also hiked the Atlantic White Cedar Swamp Trail. I'm not really a beach person, I prefer hiking and riding. Yes you are correct, it can be very crowded in the summer. Thanks for watching and commenting. All the best!
