We are Tim Malcolm and Jenny Lynne Malcolm and we have spent about every single day for the past year+ converting our 2003 E450, retired ambulance into our overland vehicle and future home. We are very close to completing it now...well, good enough for now. 🙃
A few weeks ago we had the luxury of debuting our rig in the Overland Expo West with my cousin @OFFTHEGRIDSURPLUS 🫶
Our journey began shortly after Tim's father passed away. He had only been retired for 6 years from a corporate engineering job that he had dedicated his whole life to across the ocean. His passing really accelerated our vision to convert our ambulance and begin traveling now not later; so we sold our home in AZ and have been living with friends & our black lab Cash, like Johnny Cash🐾

Best Ambo ive seen to date.. i seen this at Overland West 2023 ... also this fella n wife are super cool folks we camped near eachother in Sodona on a hill top... awsome people.. The interior is top notch as well..200k+ into the build 😮
Those Airtabs® are vortex generators that increase aerodynamic performance and fuel economy by reducing aerodynamic pressure drag. They improve vehicle stability by altering the airflow at the vehicle’s rear, especially in gusty cross wind conditions or when passing (or being passed by) other vehicles. This increases driver safety margins by reducing wandering and sudden adjacent lane incursions. Best thing is that they are under 3 dollars per unit.

Nice rig! I'm building an ambo myself -- you gave me some great ideas and I've never seen those air tabs before so I'm going to look into that.

What is your procedure for manipulating your high mounted spare tire? This is a beautiful, detailed conversion which utilized much forethought and great design. 👍 All your sub-components are high quality (no junk) 😎
How does it drive on highway? Can it do 75mph? This build is freaking awesome 🔥🔥🔥

Do you guys ever have issues with your fluid tanks freezing? is the webaso heater all you need for that? i live in a class c rv and frozen tanks and dead batteries is the biggest stress in my life right now. :/

Hi there, we take that as a huge compliment because we built it ourselves 😀 We have more of the build on IG, we haven't had much time to edit all the videos yet. We just got on the road & are beginning to add to this channel 🤙🏼
how muchdid you drive this girl enough before the air tabs.. to make comparison? am curious about them.

Quite a bit. We have noticed no difference in fuel economy but they really help with the push-n-pull from the semi trucks passing.
