I am in the middle of redesigning my main blog and building two sister blogs. The contend from the first is being split over two and then a totally new off topic one for the things I want to write but don’t fit in either. I knew I wanted to use one key colour across them all but I equally knew my colour selection wasn’t right. I explained to ChatGP and was presented with full colour schemes for them all with explanations of the colour choices. There are loads of colour theory blogs and websites out there but none with this level of personalisation. I was really impressed. The next steps in the future will be to see if I can generate a replacement for some of the expensive plugins 😂

Great video, Jamie. Love how you explained the problem of blank canvas and how we’re trying to solve that.

So funny. The case study website we built in my No Stress WordPress 2.0 course back in 2019 is *VERY* similar to the site that ZipWP generated for your wife's yoga business. 😲 Great video Jamie.

Thank you for an excellent presentation! As you said, this might interest many small businesses that want to do something other than the building job. But competing solutions will soon come from developers with lots of Starter Templates. So this will firsthand affect solutions like Wix, Squarespace, Weebly, and such proprietary solutions.

Jamie, I see your enthusiasm for this product. I've been pondering this since I first heard about it last week, and all I see is a fresh coat of pain. Seems a lot of effort went into making sure users are glued to this platform tighter than glitter on a craft project. And the "brand new custom website" part? Kinda wobbly. Am I missing the charm? To me, it's like slapping lipstick on a pig and shouting, "Isn't she a stunner?!" 🐷👀

Hey Jim. For most people (not all) it is very time-consuming to: 1. Create a design for your website 2. Choose the 20 or so images for your website from multiple sources 3. And the big one, write all the words for all the pages on your site Zip does all this in 60 seconds, where it would normally take someone 4 - 8 hours of effort depending on your writing skills. It is not our aim to keep anyone glued to the platform, it's quite the opposite with the 24-hour thing, but we are going to increase that to 3 days most likely. It's WordPress and you are free to move it, and we will make it very easy for users of any skill level to do so. We are already talking to multiple web hosts that want to help us build one-click migrations into their services. So in 2 - 3 months, there will hopefully be options to push the website into your existing hosting account with a single click.

@@jimnech5066 Hey Jim, do you mean a multisite network? Zip creates stand-alone WordPress installs. So if you are asking about multisite networks, I guess the question really is can you bring a stand-alone WordPress site into a multisite network. That I would have to refer to google as I am personally not super experienced with WordPress multisite networks.

Very interesting, website design and building will be greatly impacted by AI solutions. I wonder if page bloat and speed, problem with current page builders, will still be a hurdle.

It certainly is compelling. Divi just released an update with its own AI integration. I find the text generation is probably the most impressive while stand alone image generation is mixed and in many cases not useable. ZipWP looks pretty cool and I reckon many novice first time users will attempt to do some DIY with it. It will be interesting to see how they get on. I am sure some will succeed and like your foray into YouTune (just watched your interview with Freemius) after a number of attempts may just become our competition in the future. Hoping to be retired by then. I see Cheltenham on one of the generated videos. Partial to an auld bet on the GGs around St. Patrick's Day?

This is much more efficient than AI offerings by Elementor and Divi. I know Divi has an AI website builder on road map, but no projected release date.

You can't - it's built for the block editor (Gutenberg)

It will never replace anyone. Mark my words. Reason: These tools cost companies a lot of money like: Usage of API's, servers, maintenance, etc. And hence bankruptcy

How to copy the website

Is it correct that this can only rebuild a website from an existing website? That seems to be what you demonstrated in all cases. How can user with only content and no existing structure use this tool?

From my understanding they will role out to everyone but they want to make sure the server infrastructure can meet the high demand. They are also working on some cool new functionality 🤩

As I understand it, there is no option to use a custom domain name, so for me it's a non-starter.

I wouldn’t call these exactly fantastic.

Exciting video Jamie! It made me join the... waiting list (?!) out of curiosity. After doing so, it seems to me like this is a promo of a promo for a new service. I am #19677 on the list. The feeling I get is.... "Join and if you can't skip the line by referring your friends, you'll probably forget in a few days that you gave your address to another email list". Ok, I am an adult so I can't blame anyone for my actions, so I'll wait and see if and when I will make it in and in the end, if it was worth the trouble. Thanks.

Sorry for the waitlist. We wanted to do it this way so that we can ensure that Zip can handle the load that all the users will place on it. The last thing we want is to give 20k new users access and have it crash the system. We will get everyone access over the next 2 - 3 weeks.
