Nope, she was born a Gorgon. The retailing of her story as a maiden abused by Poseidon came from a Roman poet and therefore not part of the greek mythos.

I feel it would've been much better to use Hercules' true name, Heracles (meaning glory of Hera, he was so named to appease her) EDIT: to clarify, Heracles is his original Greek name, Hercules is the Roman equivalent because the Romans took a lot of Greek mythology and incorporated it into their own existing beliefs stem. Same goes for Jupiter-Zeus and Venus-Aphrodite, for example. Since this video is about Greek mythology, it would've been better to refer to him as Heracles, that's all my comment meant to imply 😁

A glaring problem in this is that it says that he turned Atlas into Stone And that hes an ancestor of Heracles But during the labors he met Atlas who was definitely alive Does that mean that You eventually go back to normal

If Atlas is turned to stone by Perseus, then how did Hercules, many years later visit Atlas and he wasn't still stone?

Even though this really fascinates me, there were just few things I want to be cleared of. If Perseus already petrified Atlas, why did Hercules still be able to meet him? Why does the Cerberus in your animation at one point don't have a serpent's tail? If Hercules met Theseus when he was young with the lion cloak, how come Theseus met him again before before the 12 labors began?

Perseus was actually Egyptian and Andromeda was Ethiopian. For some reason the narrator failed to mention that Andromeda was from Ethiopia, that was ruled by King Cepheus and Queen Cassiopeia. Perseus and Andromeda's son Perses founded the Persian Achaemenids. Helen of Troy and Hercules are also their great grand children.

Wait if Hercules was a descendant of Perseus, How was Atlas not petrified when Hercules met him?

Greek mythology is complicated. I don’t think atlas is always part of perseus’s story or maybe another story cured atlas between Perseus and Heracles’s stories

In Greek Mythology it's Heracles, it's Roman mythology that he is named Hercules

Whoever is the commentator for this got it wrong because the Greek was not Hercules it was Heracles that was the difference between the Greeks and the Romans

HIS NAME IS HERACLES AS IN HERA- KLEOS (Witch means glory for Hera)

Do you know the Hercules and Heracles are two different demigods ones from Greek Heracles And there’s the other one from the Roman mythology, Hercules, if the narrator is talking about the Greek, he saying the wrong name
