You are so harmonized girl, I like to watching your videos in purpose of language learning, but it just a pleasure to hear you and see you. Thanks for your effort and unspeakable atmosphere in your creations.
I spent 9 months living in Amsterdam a few years ago. The “inner ring” you mentioned is all the tourist trap areas. Outside of that is more of a “vibe”. Highly recommend venturing off to those areas next time you’re out and about in Amsterdam. The first time I visited Amsterdam I was also strolling around with my mother and we accidentally stumbled upon the red light district 😅. It was a lot cleaner than either of us expected.

Great video of my city Taylor, always nice to see people from abroad having a great time over here. If you're ever thinking of coming over again hit me up for some tips (sightseeing, food, bars/clubs/festivals etc.) to make the most out of your trip in Amsterdam. Enjoy the holidays and hope you're having an amazing 2023!
Some nice memories here...one of my favorite non-rev trips during the airline days was Amsterdam. The original plan was to fly to Montreal or Quebec City but couldn't clear the four of us onto a flight to a hub that served those cities so we looked at our options...found some business class availability to AMS from Houston, got to Houston and had a great trip! Amsterdam during the summer was definitely a highlight.
Amsterdam is one of my favorite cities. Visited my niece in Amsterdam last summer. Loved the vibe.
Very cool … forgot you were in Amsterdam .. There’s a warmth about the mum and daughter bonding that’s special … LA may be too warm of the Christmas jumper , regrettably no such dilemma my end .. Have a lovely time over the holidays..

Great to see you were having a fun time in Amsterdam, Taylor. Myself, I live in Nijmegen, about a 90-minute car drive from Amsterdam and I should definitely visit Amsterdam more often and play a native tourist. I just booked my next flight for March to Thailand again and that is for sure a country you should go check out.

Great video Taylor! Amsterdam is always a great place to stop off at on a trip to Europe, depending on your situation I tell everyone its “Europe lite” because nearly everyone speaks great English, there are several cheap and easy forms of transportation on top of walking or biking (which are the best imo) and there’s several different types of food from all over the world to satisfy anyone’s taste buds. Not to mention you are a quick train ride away from like 5 countries so I reccomend this as a great layover stop like you did or a great place to start an extended Euro trip especially for first timers.

yes, we are taught English in school as our second language. And personally, I find it a lot easier than French for example. And about the food, we don't really have that many specific food options that are from the Netherlands, it's all mostly a mix of other cuisines. But I'm glad to hear positive thoughts from foreigners about the Netherlands.

@@thechrisverhoeven Thanks Chris and yes I meant the food seen is amazing because of all the choices from various cultures and countries. I’ve been to some phenomenal argentine steak houses, Indian, Thai, Moroccan etc. And I do love Dutch kipper snack and bitterballen!

@@nickpapagiorgio5056 yes, I like bami schijven. When it comes to authentic Thai food, I haven't really found the right restaurants just yet. I'm going to Thailand again in March so I'll be looking forward to the food overthere.

These buildings lean slightly to help move furniture which in the old days was manouevered through the windows with a rope / hoist. A lean forward helps the furniture not bang against the lower wall/windows.

Hello Taylor, well it's 23:21 in the UK and I've just watched this before going to bed. It is absolutely fantastic content - you truly are gifted beyond your years! I've been to Amsterdam, but that was way back in the 70s! when I was a small child. I remember putting my little feet in some over sized clogs, and constantly getting told off by my parents for wondering off - usually to the wrong shops 😂🤦🏽♀. Living in Amsterdam I was somewhat surprised by your remarks about the weather at first 😆 glad you came in summer to enjoy the great weather though! Its nice to get an impression of my city through your eyes! Fun fact about those leaning houses: it’s because city taxes in the olden days used to be calculated over the ground floor square footage, so this was a clever way to trick the system. It also came in handy to lift cargo without it slamming into the lower floors too much. Those houses all used to have lifting systems on the top floor (and most still do). Also, where you were walking at 8:40 is literally in a mission in the newest Call of Duty 😆

How you will remember all these travels! I have a small collection of currency from each country I went to. It's good to buy one item that will represent your trips from everywhere. I really like your trip to Giza. Our camel was grumpy, spitting, and roaring at us. He was not a happy camper at all. But I did get to see a camel race (Riyadh, Arabia) and the old Cairo museum, as well as the burial chamber in the main Pyramid. You will meet people who have never been out of there home state, and you can tell, their view of the world is different. When you go through all the travails of going to many countries you appreciate other walks of life. Go Taylor...🐢

Very true about traveling can be stressful trying to get every flight on time getting to your hotel on time and cabs or ubers can be a pain to find in some place's
Exactly! I love to travel but it is stressful these days, something always gets wrong (delays, cancellations, lost luggage).
