The bells of the splendid Renaissance Oratory of St James
The Oratory of Gerenzano (Italy) is one of the most beautiful churches in the Varese region, a prime example of Renaissance art. Next to the rich frescoes from the 16th century, we find the base of the 14th-century Gothic bell tower, which houses two bells from different historical periods. The smaller bell is richly decorated with three lines of inscription, cast in 1618 by the Lorraine bell foundryman Bonavilla. The larger bell was added in 1948 in memory of all those who fell in World War II.

The two bells are ringing while the rain has already been soaking all the fields and plains for a fortnight, also causing inconvenience and minor flooding. The two bells ring together to signal to the townspeople that it is noon.
The oratory was built inside a courtyard dating back to the 14th century, built as a farmstead in the middle of the fields. The village nobleman had a new, larger church built, calling in the best artists of the time and creating one of the most beautiful works of the entire Renaissance. The court was restored during the 19th century, while the church is original in every part, completed in 1525. The façade is dominated by the central rose window, from which a beautiful cross departs. The interior of the oratory is a riot of colour, starting with the magnificent fresco decoration with floral and geometric motifs. The numerous figures of saints are a veritable gospel for anyone who looks at them. The two side walls show scenes of the Adoration of the Magi and the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, while in the middle is an exceptional wooden altarpiece from the 1500s, with a frame made entirely of wood and gold.

Molto carine, peccato per la differenza di nota, potevano fonderne una in Sib³ anziché in Mi⁴ così erano più orecchiabili, oppure potevano costruire il concerto attorno al Mi⁴ visto che è antica, ottenendo così Re⁴ e Mi⁴. Ottimo video.

@@c-historia di campane così ce ne sono tante nei paesi del sud o anche da me a Santa Maria di Porto Salvo (una volta Gallico era paese, poi è stato inglobato nel comune di Reggio Calabria) ci sono 2 campane anche se dovrebbero essere in scala (Do⁴ e Re⁴).

@@c-historia secondo me queste note non in scala vanno bene per le campane fisse che suonano a scampanio, a Santa Maria di Porto Salvo suonano così e sono bellissime.
