Hello everyone. The beekeeping season is coming soon and I've been puzzled by something that's been bothering me for quite a while. Namely, how to carry all the necessary tools in the apiary, so as not to forget anything and at the same time, so that everything is kept in its place. I watched a lot of videos about the different shapes and types of beekeeper's boxes and came to the conclusion that I need to make my own. But how to make it? There is no single standard and drawings. I decided to make a prototype and then decide which beekeeper's box I need to work in the apiary.
The model I presented is the first attempt to comprehend the model I need and I do not force anyone to copy anything. I will try to post the drawings in the description for download, if you have any problems, write, do not hesitate.
The first conclusions that I can already draw are the large weight of the box. Yes, it is massive and sturdy and will last for many years, but weight is weight. I already know for sure that I will make the pen thinner. I have 18 mm shields for the box, but I think 12-13 is enough, although it can bend a tree. But if you use plywood of at least 12 mm, the weight will be even greater. Perhaps I have a high humidity tree (having two moisture meters, I did not bother to measure humidity ...). I'll try the thermal tree in my work, maybe this is also a way out. The second aspect is the size. I will try all the possibilities in the process and adjust them. Already now I see that the width and length of the box can be slightly reduced. Perhaps some of the parts can be milled and some of the material can be removed by replacing it, for example, with a grid, leaving only the contour. Everything can be ... The main thing at this stage is that everything is done with your own hands, which means there is an opportunity to redo something.
