I met an Iranian man back in the mid 1980's. His wife and son went to the same church as my family and I. He had been in the Iranian army and told about how they had to move through a crowd of protesters to move them out of the area. The way he described it, it was brutal. Mirahn was a 5th or 6th degree Black Belt in Karate. I can't remember the spelling of the type so I won't try. He held classes for the young boys in the church Rec room and invited the fathers to attend. A friend and I started going, I dropped out but my friend continued. It was a great experience in discipline and exercise. As Ali, the gentleman in this article, Mirahn was always friendly and respectful of everyone he met. Mirahn owned a Audio/Visual repair shop. Great man. Sorry for the lengthy spiel.

I've eaten here a time or two and I can say with confidence Ali is 100% genuine in this interview. He probably spent 20 minutes at our table making us laugh and telling is his story on how he came to Albany. not to sound sappy but you really do feel welcome whenever those hinges squeak on that door. excellent food by the way.

This is what leftists fail to understand. This Iranian man comes to America, establishes himself as a skilled restaurateur, and with hard work, dedication, and providing a quality product for his customers, has become wildly successful and well known, or else the Texas Reporter would have never given him a second glance. Pass the steak sauce, please.

Hardworking and with seemingly steadfast values, Ali Esfandiary is indeed a magnificent example of the life one can build in the USA. The only problem is, had he had his way, the last President would not have let people like him immigrate into the country in the first place.

Hi Mark, I feel like he reveled a quiet moment of his day to all of us. That's his business to believe in his own religion. That is the freedom that all American's enjoy. I hope that you will just let this go. He's a good and decent man who loves this country and feels blessed to live here. Just imagine if your own personal religious beliefs "bothered" most folks. It's always best to stand in someone else's shoes for a few moments and reflect on how life is from their point of view. It tends to give you a more balanced and thoughtful point of view.
