Tap Dan's Art Borak presents
"The Beauty Of Rhythm" - A Tap Dan's Story
Last summer, for the month of August 2015, I had the great opportunity to perform as a dancer in the show ‘WINGS’ by Rigolo at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, the largest arts festival in the world.
During the festival, the city is full of amazing performance artists from all around the world.
Musicians, comedians, circus artists, dancers, actors…They all wander the streets performing, advertising and inciting people into their show….collectively making the energy and atmosphere in the streets incredible!
One day, I decided to take my small tap-board, music, headphones and camera, to go out and dance in the streets and advertise for our show ‘WINGS’.
I either asked musicians if I could jam one song with them or I just danced by myself.
During one of my sessions when I was alone, I had just begun to tap to one of my own tunes when I suddenly became aware of another rhythm coming closer to me from somewhere in the streets.
I looked up and saw a group of guys drumming on all kinds of buckets, walking around and advertising for their show.
They crossed my way.
What you're about to see was completely improvised.
We had never met before - our paths just crossed, we enjoyed our moment together and then they moved on.
It was one of the most beautiful moments in my life as a tap dancer so far.
I hope you enjoy :)
Thank you Marty Bronson / Martyboard Inc. for the board! =)
Thank you Jenny Ritchie for your help with the intro-text =)
Intro - music:

Daniel, this is really wonderful! You've made a lovely little film here & with the story, very touching. Your dancing is completely awesome, and your energy - jeez! I was glad to see your face when you sat down at the end - and that you were a little winded. And all those people just walking right on by, hardly even paying attention to what's in front of them! Anyway, lovely. from Salt Lake City :)
