Not only were the Beatles progressing but, the Beatles helped to improve recording techniques.

This album and its follow-up, Revolver, are my 2 favorite Beatles songs. Revolver also has a song with a woman's name, Eleanor Rigby, and it's a great song. However, it's different in that it's about an older woman, it's not a romantic song.

The next few albums are Revolver Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (most people just call it Sergeant Pepper) Magical Mystery Tour The Beatles (self titled) (known as the White Album because of its minimalist cover) (this is a double album so you might want to split into two videos or just have one really long one) Let It Be (this came out after Abbey Road but it was created before it, then was stuck in production hell) Abbey Road (the final creative statement of the Beatles and definitely best taken as the last album)

Loved your reactions! They were thought out and honest, and agree or disagree, that's all anybody can ask for. And I loved your comparison to SZA. She has so many great songs, love Kill Bill, and been digging Snooze since she released it last year. And of course, the work she's done with Doja Cat is fantastic. I don't know if you're into Khalid at all, but every song he touches, whether it's him alone or singing with someone else is always amazing. I was gonna suggest that when you complete your Beatles journey (which, trust me, is an amazing journey) that you consider delving into Led Zeppelin. Led Zeppelin are the 5th biggest selling music artist of all time, behind only Michael Jackson at #4, Garth Brooks at #3, Elvis Presley at #2, and of course The Beatles at #1. Like you are doing here, I would start with their 1st album, "Led Zeppelin I" and go in chronological order until their final official studio album, CODA. I know you'll dig that journey as well. I subscribed! Peace

I was thinking about exploring other rock bands in the future thank you for the suggestion!! And yes it’s so amazing seeing artists from this generation be inspired by or still making similar songs to the Beatles when it comes to the message and what not very interesting to me!! Thank you for watching and subbing means so much to me 🥹❤️

Once again, solid assessment! I didn't foresee you picking If I Needed Someone as #1, but I appreciate your taste as it's a George Harrison composition. This was around the time where he was first getting writing credits on at least 2 songs an album, and you can hear him improve as well. Think For Yourself was his other song on this album. So, go George! The rest of your list are top picks for me as well. With the next three albums, you'll be entering the Beatles' psychedelic era. Enjoy!

Norwegian Wood was a name in a catalogue for a certain kind of light pine wood that was going through a phase of being very fashionable at the time, for furniture or wall panelling, etc - a sort of Scandi-look as it would be called today. So going on about this woman's 'Norwegian Wood' was a bit of a dig at her for being maybe a bit pretentiously trendy. I may have misunderstood your comment (I tried replaying it several times, and still wasn't sure), but it's not a 'happy' or 'cute' love song if you listen to the lyrics and follow the story - exactly the reverse. In fact, this prospective romance or one-night-stand goes so badly in the morning he hints he may have burnt her achingly cool Norwegian Wood - embellished apartment to the ground... The song was also remarkable for being one of the first to introduce an Eastern musical instrument into Western popular music. George had discovered Indian spirituality and along with it, had bought a sitar. This was the beginning of a whole era of musical experimentation with the exotic and mystical, developing into such genres as psychedelic rock and world music.

@@princeshanghai Glad it helped! Yes, LYT shows George's increasing immersion in Indian classical music and philosophy (heavily laced with LSD which was what got a lot of people initially turned on to exploring alternative perspectives on reality/ meaning of life, etc.in the 1960s). Anyway, wait until you hear Within You, Without You which is the first track on Side 2 (on the original vinyl of course) of Sergeant Pepper! This was recorded by George with no other Beatles involvement; the backing was all from his new friends at the Asian Music Circle - "at once beautiful and severe, a magnetic sermon...in the middle of a record devoted to gentle Technicolor anarchy".' [Fricke/ Rolling Stone/ Wikipedia] TBH, not everyone likes it, but for those with some level of knowledge of or even just a natural empathy for the concepts explored, it's a great, great track. So mind-blowing at the time - and even today, for many.

@@princeshanghaiit should be noted that the Beatles released most of their songs as a stereo audio type. Meaning you hear different instruments in each ear. Pretty interesting way to rehear parts you forgot or missed

Man im disappointed that you missed the point of Drive My Car and the reason the beep beep stuff is crucial. That song is full of irony and sarcasm. He's mocking the chick and paints a pretty comical picture of their relationship. It took me decades but i actually grew to like, even love What Goes On. The kyrics are really pretty good and they're just doing some genre surfing. Fun. Im looking Through You has grown into ine if my favorites too. Its an aquired taste.

You will find whenever you react to Beatles songs all the Beatles fans are all arrogant know it all's that think the Beatles are better than anyone else and if you question anything about them they all come out of the woodwork bitching. If you praise another musical artist then Beatles fans will try and belittle them by quoting things the Beatles might have done to try and make them seem better than other musicians. They also quote what they have seen in Beatles documentaries and interviews as fact and talk as though they knew every member of the Beatles and we're there with them to verify it all. They are the worst fans going...I think the Beatles are ok but there are loads of great musicians and the Beatles did steal lots of their music from other people and just repackaged it as something new.

@@stevens5541 What makes us think that? Most of us grew up with them and we remember most of the music that existed before them. It was totally different. They had a profound influence on the music and the culture of the time which, believe it or not, is still being felt to this very day. That’s why! I like her but Amy Winehouse sounds nothing like The Beatles and vice versa.
