Just read a bit about the making of Let It Be. I have my own struggles with Christianity, but Lennon was really a piece of work. Right before Let It Be, John says “That was Can You Dig It by Georgie Wood, and Now We’d Like To Do Hark The Angels Come” Paul is singing about his mother not necessarily in any way about the Virgin Mary And the song is Paul’s way of saying goodbye and good luck to his bandmates. Besides, John wanted out before any of the other three Then John made it a point to bookend his snide remark about Paul’s masterpiece with a crude song about prostitution You were quite the troubled soul Mr Lennon.
