Paul wrote this for John's son, Julian, to help him get through the hard times after John's and his wife's divorce. It's an amazing song. One of their best.

Paul wrote this song for Julian, john Lennon's son ...John left his wife Cynthia for yoko Ono...Paul wrote it to comfort him... Start with early Beatles : SHE LOVE YOU, IF I FELL, THIS BOY, YOU'RE GONNA LOSE THAT GIRL, TICKET TO RIDE....

I love Paul's screams. He is the best!

If she's going to listen to Golden Slumbers, then she should listen to the whole side two. As it was intended. She could get the same effect with "Oh Daring".

You should see the live, in-concert video of this song where Paul gets up from the piano and conducts the whole audience in chanting the end of this song. It's amazing. Great reaction.

There's nothing like seeing someone hear the Beatles for the first time, I've done that with people and they understand why I love them so much!

This is a catchy chorus and a earhanger you never get this tune out of your head❤

I love your reaction to this. And I just have so many incredible songs. I'm pretty sure there is not a bad Beatles song out there and the thing was they were only around during their twenties and then they broke up but they released so much material. But if you want a contrast with the exact same lead singer on this one, Paul McCartney, check out Long Tall Sally from the early Beatles and you can hear what a powerful singer he is and how much fun the band had and how much energy. It was before they started getting more Progressive but you really can't go wrong with The Beatles.

'Oh My Cynthia!" how I luv your reaction. This is an unprecedented classic and in my mind was a watershed moment for the Beatles - this is such a good song and it combined brilliant lyrics, and harmonies and an outro to die for as Paul pulled out all the stops and called upon his great love of the rock'n'roll greats and in particular Little Richard. God luv ya Beatles!!!

Hey Jude is a hymn of grief and redemption. In their typical genius, the Beatles mixed the personal with the political: in the year 1968, the song the Beatles recorded Hey Jude, Beatle John Lennon and his first wife divorced, which traumatized their son, Julian (who is renamed "Jude" in the song).
