The drummer, Ringo Starr, or Richard Starsky, was in a movie with Rachael Welch, not sure the year or the name. It was the caveman movie. He has put out solo work in recent years. John Lennon in round glasses singing harmony and George Harrison other guitar player singing, Paul McCartney on piano. Awesome reaction and song. Thanks.

My friend, thank you for the reactions! I love seeing someone react to things I've taken for granted over time. You refresh my appreciation for the artistry. When the Beatles released Hey Jude in November 1968, the flip side of the record was the song Revolution. Here is the video for that song, still politically relevant 52 years later - kzread.info/dash/bejne/dHuAqdyLiLybcto.html

@@willy00042 Yeah, Paul has made his appearance in many films as did Ringo, and of course The Beatles made five of their own movies, though one of which was a documentary and another had different voice actors and only showed them at the end. But still, they all had acting experience. Though I must say, Ringo, based off those movies alone, was probably the best actor of the four. The other three were largely just there to make witty jokes and comments, which is enjoyable in it's own right, but Ringo walking and talking with that kid in A Hard Day's Night really felt genuine (which it was) and him being on the edge of life in Help! was quite realistic, with some jokes thrown in here and there.

The Beatles, when they initially came to the states from Britain in the 60's refused to play to segregated audiences.Beatlemania introduced itself pretty much around the time the Civil and Voting Rights Acts were passed in the US. For the young people of what became the hippie generation, they were not afraid to be seen, and be close to people of all races and religions. The original hippie movement was all about love and equality. Music is a great conduit for this. We need a new hippie movement, so we can learn to love another again.

One of McCartney's best for sure. I think it must have been pretty crazy to hear such a stark and melancholy slice of grim social realism as a pop song back then. And I imagine that dry dramatic string quartet backing wasn't something people were used to hearing on the radio in 1966 either. it's like they pretty much invented teh chamber-pop subgenre with that song.

Really cool to see you appreciate how important the unity of the 60's counter cultural movement was given the context of the time. None of The Beatles were perfect people but they did speak out against racism and did a lot to unite people of different ethnicities and backgrounds. They definitely drew a lot of inspiration from music from other cultures, heavily inspired by a lot of black artists and also incorporating elements of Indian music in quite a lot of their songs. In 1964 they made a pretty big statement by refusing to play a show in Florida because the venue insisted on segregating the audience by race. They didn't back down and said they didn't care about the money they'd lose and pretty much forced the owner of the venue into letting the audience mix together in harmony, as it should be. highly recommend checking out Hey Bulldog (which is super underrated) and then maybe Strawberry Fields forever to get a taste of their more experimental side. The production on that track was really groundbreaking for the time. To get a feel for their earlier stuff We Can Work It Out is a good one and to get a sense for the direction they went in later in their career Come Together is really great. Always enjoy these thoughtful reactions.

Check out the beatles " Revolution " live. Also, the beatles were very anti- segregation.back in the day. ( their favorite music growing up was dominated by black artists ) Once, during their 1st U.S. tour they had a gig in jacksonville fla. They found out it was to be segregated ( only whites could buy tickets ). They refused to play the gif unless it was opened up to all races. Because they were so big and popular the promoters had to relent and let all peoples in. They also refused to stay in segregated hotels.

Elvis Presley (1956/7+) and The Beatles (1962/3+) had a powerful impact on the youth, changing the way they saw themselves within society, more so than any politician of the time. Such was the impact of Elvis, the post war youth had a voice, it pushed away the stale Sinatra society, giving Americans teenagers a new and fresh outcome to life. The Beatles crushed the stereotypical stiff industry of the media in the UK, they had humour, self belief, control and integrity, added to their obvious musical talent, conquering the world through sound, verbally & musically, it was easy for them. The music industry owes a lot to both Elvis Presley & The Beatles, original, groundbreaking and still relevant today. Plus The Beatles are from Liverpool 🇬🇧, my home city, everyday is a Beatles tour. Great channel, intelligent, smooth and one tip-top dog......🇺🇲🇺🇲

The Beatles are timeless! John was murdered in 1980 by a stalker fan...and George passed from cancer in 2001. Ringo and Paul still tour. After The Beatles, all had huge solo careers...especially Paul McCartney & Wings.

Yes, that’s Paul McCartney... he is now 78, and the drummer, Ringo Starr, just turned 80. John Lennon was assassinated at age 40 in 1980, and George Harrison died of cancer in 2001.

Singing lead at the piano is Paul McCartney (he was usually the bass player and shared lead vocal duty with John Lennon) Man harmonising and playing guitar with the eyeglasses is John Lennon. Playing bass is George Harrison (he was usually the lead guitarist but played bass here because Paul was on piano) Drums is Ringo Starr.

You should really be allowing your kids The Beatles. I’m a third generation fan and my don is The 4th. This is his favorite song.

To answer your question, that's Paul McCartney up front, John Lennon with the glasses, George Harrison playing guitar, and Ringo Starr on drums.

Want something from the Beatles that is heavily experimental try, 'Tomorrow Never Knows' or 'Across the Universe'. Years ahead of their time.

David Frost, the host, was a well known TV presenter, journalist in the UK and the US. He did an incredible series of interviews with Richard Nixon. I think a song you’d find interesting is Helter Skelter because of the impact it had on Charles Manson. Also Blackbird which McCartney wrote after watching the first little girls integrate all white schools and the twisted, cruel, hateful reaction of the adults.. and kids.

Music bands back then was so much better than today. With the bands of today having Pro Tools and Auto Tune to make them sound like they did years ago. I love today's music as much as I do all music from years ago. I love music from all different generations and styles.
