An update to my Beatles cassette collection thanks to my supervisor at work. Featuring Meet the Beatles, Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, Magical Mystery Tour, The Beatles (aka The White Album), Let It Be, The Beatles 1962-1966 (The Red Album) and The Beatles 1967-1970 (The Blue Album).

Cool collection of tapes! That was nice of your supervisor to give you those! They’re all cool, but I really like that Meet the Beatles cassette. It looks strange to see a modern cassette shell with HX Pro and Dolby for Meat the Beatles!

He was awesome to give me these. I agree too. That Meet the Beatles is odd. I really thought they discontinued all the Capitol albums after 1987. Aside from the Capitol Albums 1 & 2 CD box sets and the U.S. Albums CD box set and individual releases.

Very true. Any physical media is great. Especially those not released on CD.

The two rarest Beatles cassette tapes I own are from 1968, The Early Beatles and Meet The Beatles and they're on the Capital label. On the inside of the cover it lists what was available at the time.

Those would have been some of the original issues on compact cassette. Do they have the sticker on them as the label? Very cool additions to your collection.

Oh man. Makes me wish I didn't let go of my old Beatles cassettes. My first ones - Sgt Pepper and Magical Mystery Tour - were gifts from an aunt, xmas 1992. The artwork on them were terrible: Sgt Pepper was cropped at the sides, and MMT didn't have a 24-page booklet (despite the cover saying it does, heh). Swapped them (and other cassettes) for an Anthology DVD box set in reasonably good condition around 2015. Of interest was the late 90s white album set that I had. The earlier editions in my country had a rainbow-colored background instead of white and were sold separately. Mine was two cassettes in clear cases with no J-cards, but with a large lyric booklet housed in a flimsy white o-card. No poster or portraits, unfortunately.

Luckily I never collected any before that I had to get rid of. I’m if I had cassettes I would have traded them in too for newer media. That White Album box sounds interesting though.

@@BeatleDustino the mid-to-late 90s cassettes of the other albums (same wave as the Sgt Pepper on your video) were good, too - the Tony Barrow liner notes in the first four albums were there, Revolver had the band photo from the back. I wonder if Apple considered milking the cassette revival thing and releasing the core catalog on cassette, even as a limited RSD release?

@@tapsilogic that would be pretty cool. Especially if they recreated the “breadbox” to house them in. Unfortunately they wouldn’t have Dolby or any sort of noise reduction.

Great collection are the track listings the same as the lp and cds for the tapes or are they in different formats. I have a Parlophone help cassette and the track listings is completely different than the cd or lp and now that is my go to for help cause I’ve listened to it for so long that way.

These particular cassettes all have correct track listing orders. The Abbey Road cassette I mentioned that is also in my collection does not though. Side 1 of that one starts with Here Comes the Sun. And side 2 kicks off with Come Together.

In UK the doubles are on one tape.not 2

That must be nice. I see no reason most Beatles double albums can’t fit on a single cassette. That way you don’t have to keep track of two.

Do you have any of the Beatles singles on 3 inch CDs? I got a few but didn't get the whole collection.

No I don’t have any of those yet. But someday I will start to collect them. I really find the 3” CD’s interesting.
