The Bear's Perfect Episode
The Bear has consistantly been amazing television. But Episode 6 of Season 2 is a perfect episode and handles the deep subject matter of the show so well.

sugar in fishes was actually one of the saddest things, she catches everything from her mom and all she does is try to help, her expressions really tell all
That Christmas episode could've been a whole movie
I’ve never had a show capture the feeling of my childhood family functions quite like this episode did. It was shocking and cathartic. Best episode of tv I’ve seen in a LONG time
Big credit to Jamie Lee Curtis for not only giving it all in this one episode and for reminding me how great acting and storytelling can elevate a show. I also appreciate the other actors who played small parts, especially Will Poulter, but had big impact to the overall story.

Joel McHale's chef is an incredibly effective antagonist as he's almost haunting Carmy. They achieve this constant phantom dread for a character who only gets maybe.... 4 minutes of screentime in 3 seasons. "Every second counts"
Best episode of a show I’ve ever seen. I always say this when a show has that one episode that knocks you for six but this one… it hit differently it’s real. It’s chaotic family drama felt real making it all the more believable making it all the more amazing.
@McFatteh

A bit off the point but, just curiously, do you come from a cricket-playing country with your "knocks you for six" expression? I'm just curious if it's a big enough expression to be said outside of countries that actually play cricket or if it's just been said by you because you know what it means haha But on topic, wasn't this a gripping episode! Thought I'd have time to watch it on my 30 minute train to work, then had to stop halfway and then spent all of work thinking about when I'd be able to finish it on my way home haha. Wished I could experience it for the first time again, like episode seven of season one

How an episode about a family prepping thanksgiving dinner is as intense and action packed as the opening of Saving Private Ryan I have no clue.

Agree. The ending scene with Carmy vs Richie is probably one of the most intense & emotional scenes ever. Just beautiful.

Words cannot explain how much I love this show. It’s getting to me at a human level, below the surface, straight to the heart. Congrats to everybody involved in this masterpiece. Season 1 was incredible. This is spectacular. Subtle and it feels real. Agree with you. This episode is stunning.
Honestly with all these cameos I was surprised and happy to see Gillian Jacobs the most. I then quickly said Oh, Britta's in this. Lol
That whole episode was triggering
Fired up for season 3, the show is still Sucha open canvas, so many things can happen

This episode was crazy and amazing!! The whole cast was outstanding!!! A must watch for sure!!!
its honestly such a masterpiece episode and also for that exact same reason, i dont think i can ever watch it again. hit too close to home.
I’m so glad this episode is getting the praise it is, I watched it last night and wow!! Such brilliant acting and such a well written episode, one of the best I have ever seen.
Had to take multiple brakes during this episode.
Fishes is so full of emotions drama!!!!! And in Forks for the very first time Richie feels proud of himseelf!!! I love this series!!!!
Forks > fishes
I've never seen The Bear until today, but then I learned that Sarah Paulson was in an episode, and so I just had to watch it. Sarah was great in it, just like she is in everything. She's the reason I watched the episode of The Bear in the first place. But I plan to see the rest of it as well.
Amazing episode of an amazing show. A few more seasons at this rate and will easily be one of the top shows of all time.
The episode was so good!
that episode made me internally panic the same way Mother! did. it’s such a crazy feeling
This episode was hilarious. The laughs just kept on coming. Best comedy series ever.
As someone who grew in Chicago and worked at a family owned restaurant and dealkng with all the bs to even being introduced jnto said family and only to see how awful some people are. Its the first time i ever resignated with a show.
This episode was excellent, but the level of agita it brought out from my own family’s holidays makes it challenging to rewatch.
This is a masterpiece episode
This is perfection of a show❤
That episode should win like sixteen Emmies, I swear to god.
It took me almost 2hrs to watch this because of how many times I had to pause it, I was stressed 😮
It does the steady ramp up of conflict and tension through the episode, but you never lose affection for the family. As specifically crazy as this family may be, I think every family can relate to it to some degree
Omg I never realized how amazing this episode was until now. You're absolutely right. It had everything!
This is the episode that brought me here to KZread to see what others were saying, this and Forks, Soooo good!
Goodness it was so chaotic
Love the episode . Love the show . My only complaint about The Bear is category it is placed in. This episode is proof again that this show is not a comedy and should not be placed in the comedy category during award season, taking away chances for real comedies
I watched this episode whoo I had a nasty flu and literally never even realized that was Jamie Lee Curtis, wow. What a masterclass all around.
Hard to watch yet couldn’t stop. JLC amazing !!! All of them but she really hit it!
Made me feel like I was a kid again at Christmas dinner.. in a hauntingly beautiful way
Forks was my favorite episode. I have watched it several times.
This episode was so well done. I also felt like I saw my family dynamic represented. My new tradition is to watch this episode at Christmastime to remind myself why I keep my distance from my mom 😅 "Shut up, Natalie" from Jamie Lee Curtis gave me chills, especially since my name is also Natalie. I didn't realize I was holding my breath & my face was wet with tears til the episode ended. Extremely cathartic!
Jamie Lee killed it !!!! What a performance ❤
Episodes 4 and 7 are also very good.
The episode Fishes, take everything except mom driving the car into the house, that was my life. Watching that episode was like living it all over again. The perfect depiction of a dysfunctional family at its worst.
Oh Mikey!😞 Broke my heart, i hated you for the first few episodes not knowing what you were going through… In a family so self-absorbed, they didn’t take in account his pain and mental state crumbling down.💔
This show hit hard af especially when you have toxic family
I thought there wouldnt be another show on FX I would obsess over like Sons or Atlanta…The Bear proved me wrong
I loved seeing Sarah Paulson in the show
I wish I could get into this show. I watched the first three episodes and just didn’t like the feeling of anxiety it gave me. I know that’s the point.
The show also has had a few Brian eno songs which makes it even better
7:22 literally, I just started scrolling on my phone 😭
They got it so right.
The episode is very good, very well done, and the cast all did an incredible job. But I hate this episode. It’s extremely traumatizing. My bipolar relatives showed us a Christmas or two growing up that was not far off. It was so hard for me to watch that I almost had a panic attack. And I turned it off several times to take a break. It’s because the episode is so well done that I CAN even hate this episode. If it wasn’t so spot on, it wouldn’t be so traumatic to see.
I loved this episode so much
This is one of the best episodes of television. It’s the same level as the best of Succession episodes. Magnificent.
S01E07 was amazing, to me that's the best episode. This one is easily #2. Both perfect
Wild to think John Mulaney plays the most reasonable and level-headed character of the episode.
Wow one of the greatest television shows ever made! I’ve never heard of it till right now😂
I was traumatized watching fishes
The mom stole the whole season
I view this episode as a Chaotic masterpiece
Please let this be 15 season run

🎉🎉🎉BRAVO!!! Bestest EPISODE EVER EVER!!!!!
I’ve never had a character get under my skin so much as uncle lee
this isn't the greatest episode of The Bear. maybe to display disfunctionality. best best yelling ensemble, perhaps. it's subjective chosing your favorite episode, but this isn't about the team. this isn't about the restaurant. this is more about a man and what created him. that's important to have so the viewer has sense of who he is, some insight. But it wasn't even necessary at this point. if you don't know the kid by this episode you weren't trying to pay attention. solid one. I get the chaos the writers were going for. Continuous tention throughout this series and this was no exception. I get it, but it can be a little too much. Ok a lot. That's the point.
This episode was awesome, the acting is phenomenal. But in my humble opinion it’s not the best of the season or the show. Personally I liked episodes 7, 9 & 10 more.
The best episode ever
I felt like I was being torn about at every second. Exposure therapy 👈
best ever made lol
It really is a great show
Forks was the best episode of season 2

This episode, along with "Review" (season 1, ep. 7) and the finale of season 2 made me cringe in the best ways possible. I never anticipated that a show could have so many chaotic, yet quality, episodes in just 2 seasons
Near perfect? Thats a bold statement
are you okay mom?
This episode accelerates rapidly from 0 to 100 in 1.2 seconds, then pushes the pedal to the metal, racing at maximum speed of 500mph for 30 min straight then 2 fast 2 furious ejects you out your seat.🤕😵💫😤😮💨
It sure was 😂
Near perfect? It's PERFECT. And here's another truth bomb, Breaking bad is my favourite show ever made. But, The Bear Ep 96 of S2 is better than any episode of Breaking Bad. Period. Everything in that episode is PERFECTION,which even Breaking Bad could not achieve entirely.
💯
It was a hard episode To Think somwhan really could live In this family
Where is it available? Which platform?
Shameless but it’s cooking oriented
It’s great, but it’s not that great. For me, this show is just too much about the trauma and the self-destruction. I’m not asking that every show is a happy one, just that it can be balanced and not depressing in some way every episode. Take Breaking Bad as an example (since we mentioned Bob Odenkirk). We all knew how that show was going to end. Right from Season 1, Episode 1, we all knew that no one was going to find happiness and success. But it worked because the storyline was so complex and compelling, it drew you in, it made you block out everyone’s inevitable fate and simply live in the moment following their rises, their falls, their rises, their falls, etc…
i feel like the episode was to pulled out
Never once heard of it and will 100% not watch it. Thanks tho.
