The magic of the Beach Boys makes everyone young and 18 again! Just what the young people of this Nation the U.S. A. need today and hope to rejuvenate our American Summer Spirit , surfing, pretty girls on the beach, cool cars, good hamburger stands, lemonade or root beer floats, Coca Cola, hot dogs, cotton candy and great music to dance to. Fun, fun, fun etc. swimming and sunbathing.
So sad that Denny was gone before this... I'm sure it would've been so awesome if he was able to have been there.

Towards the end of his life Dennis was a liability to the band. His drinking & drugging destroyed him. He started an affair with a teen niece of Mike Love prompting the band to withhold royalties in an attempt to force him to get help. I saw a 1981 show where he was sadly drunk & throwing bottles of beer into the audience. He thought he was entertaining but it was awful.

I love Carl's elegant presence is the best.
It’s weird to remember that at this time, The Beach Boys were only like 18 years past their prime, probably seen as a washed up bunch of has-beens. The band is so canonized now, and they’re practically treated like ancient music that’s been passed down through the ages. Not that I don’t love them, it’s just strange to think about a time when they weren’t this classic shining thing on a pedestal.

What a GREAT day so glad I attended with my girlfriend who would become my wife. I remember getting there at dawn and walking through the park to JFK Stadium and this guy was playing guitar on a bench as we walked by on our way in. Then Joan Baez introduces him and he opens Live Aid to a crowd of over 100 thousand so clear a memory like it was yesterday we were all saying at the time that it was so cool to have seen him earlier that day. Live Aid was a seminal moment in music history and we were there!!!
Oh Carl love him and that beautiful voice
