Dennis was underrated as a drummer. He was the perfect fit for the Beach Boys’style of music.. he’s missed that’s for sure..😭
These live shows from the early 80's are a trip. These guys are the ultimate road dogs, the epitome of "the show must go on" concept. Brutal and beautiful all at once.
This is extreme. It feels like we could hear the voices that live inside Brian's head singing with him. Kudos to him for trying his best through what must be indescribable mental pain and anguish. I think he is beyond reproach. He is VERY strong.
Is nobody going to mention the fact that Brian is singing “God Only Knows” instead of Carl? And how great he sounds on it? He sounds likes he’s actually putting some heart into it, which is rare for shows around this era.
I was lucky enough to know Dennis, he came to Sacramento California to go fishing with my Dad. Dennis was a great friend, he had a Heart that was big as all outdoors. ❤ My Dad and Mom Loved him like a son!
I give Brian Wilson credit for being there with all his problems he really looked out of it their Beach Boy sound really missed Carl, RIP!
The Jan & Dean part of this is really heartwarming. It's amazing that they included Jan in the Barbara Ann dance and that Jan physically managed it.
Dennis' standing ovation for Brian was touching.
One of the best drumming from Denny.Great concert, but miss Carl
Back when life was good, and you could go to any concert when all the great artists were around at the time. It didn't cost an arm and a leg for it.
I can't believe Brian actually showed up during this awful period for him. The last one you expected to survive went on to thrive ... into old age even. Never would've predicted that ever.
What a super califonian band the Beach Boys were. Fabulous sound. Great voices great harmonies and l adore Mike Love! ❤
Thank you so much. As my dad was a pro drummer
Dennis Wilson absolutely destroying the drums on California Girls

Brian’s vocal on God Only Knows was great.

Best Beach Boys perfomance I've ever seen - and I've seen them in concert 3 times. My '80s Power Pop band, "The Bngs" performed aboard the Queen Mary 2 weeks before this great Beach Boys show. They were a huge inspiraton for our sound. I break out in chills when Brian Wilson sings "Don't Worry, Baby". They will always be "America's Band".
The last verse of don’t worry baby is interesting. This is the only concert I’ve rewatched more than a couple times. It’s just wild
This concert was so much fun! Love the Beach Boys.
