The BBC's failure to call Hamas 'terrorists' is inexcusable
This week, Jake is joined by Danny Cohen, the BBC's former director of TV, who hit out at the corporation for the way it responded to October 7 and why he wouldn't have resigned in protest.

And they film the mother as well, who tells us how hungry and thirsty he is and it is bc of the IDF! Presumably, she is paid for these "appearances. ".. HOPEFULLY she doesn't know what they write about them afterwards!!?? I can't blame her for needing money and that he can come in and put on a drip, which he clearly needs! HOWEVER, they reuse these clips over and over, including a few days ago, and as a viewer, it is horrible to watch this child in pain. Or whatever his actual situation is! Tim Davie is directly responsible for condoning the systemic internal anti Zionism, anti Semitism. He has failed to uphold complaints effectively, he has failed to deliver impartial reporting, he has failed to provide unbiased media and has instead brought the BBC into disrepute. Denial and bigotry are not acceptable. It would also help if he employed journalists that have journalistic integrity, with standards of education, that know how to spell basic English and use English grammar.

That was probably the thinking of the people at the BBC who decided not to call hamas terrorists to begin with, a form of both psychological warfare and constructive dismissal. The accounts of Jewish people currently working at the BBC are just as shocking.
Why is there a BBC Arabic? Why are British tax payers funding an Arabic service, or indeed any specialised language service?
I found this piece to be extremely informative. And I cant help draw parallels with the ABC here in Australia. Our community also suffers the same bias and anti Israel rhetoric. DANNY: Your initial point - about people ingratiating themselves with tghe 'boss' is well made. This is the problem if you are Sovereign of the United Kingdom, His Majesty's Prime Minister, Archbishop of Canterbury, down to the 'lowly' NHS Chief Executive (if the latter ever leaves his/her office!). You are observing a 'world' filtered through ambition and expectation. Usually this process is benign: but - when the person deceiving you is an Islamist Imam, or an Islamist politician (Naz Shah?) - then it can become dangerous, for a great many people. There is a cleric I follow, but do not admire (Gavin Ashenden; once Chaplain to HM, the Queen) whose watchword for Christians (and, I suspect, Jews) is 'DISCERNMENT'. We need to recognise when we are being lied-to. This is an enormous 'gift': and may have stopped a great many of us from voting for the wrong person. fpr PM, in December 2019. Unfortunately, far too many of us were deceived. To be able to practise 'discernment' ought to be one of the most beneficial 'tools' at the disposal of any 'boss'.

I hope you are aware that the conflict began before 1948, and that many of those you call ‘displaced Palestinians’ were themselves economic migrants who arrived after the Ottomans were replaced by the British. Their Arab leaders calling them back home is repatriation, not displacement. The reason their leaders told them all to leave was so they could wage war and murder all the Jews there, including the Jews who’d lived there for centuries. Indeed, you forgot to mention the Arab aggressors who committed genocide against the long-standing Jewish communities of Hebron and Gaza, for example. Violence begetting violence, why have you left that out? You’re not trying to be reductionist, are you?

This was a real eye opening discussion. The issues I see are misunderstanding: Fundamentally... Antisemitism... What is it? The IHRA Working Definition Of Antisemitism conflates criticism of Israel (antizionism) with hatred of Jews, just for being Jews, (antisemitism)... which the rest of the world sees as bogus... but Zionists (not Jews) seem to accept this definition. Proof: Antisemitism is morally wrong... criticism of Israel (antizionism) for genocide is morally right... therefore, if antizionism is antisemitism... then... (morally right) is (morally wrong)... I.e. not valid, a bogus proposition. So, on the basis of a bogus proposition, people must be driven from their jobs, their livelihoods, unable to pay their bills, their rent, their mortgages... and are to be driven from their homes??? You see where this is going, right? You are offended, you want peoples social media monitored, you want them driven from their jobs... because they do not share your point of view... where will that lead?... Conflict???... 🤔 Maybe... just maybe... you should be guided by a moral compass, rather than taking offence at something you misunderstood? If your moral compass says: kill all women and children... drive people who disagree with me from their homes... then it is broken... get a working one?...

@andrewwalsh2755 Andrew trying without any context to explain anti Semitism and applying acceptance of anti Semitism because of your skewed views is nothing whatsoever to do with moral compass. If people behaved in the same manner towards any other religious group or nation then give an example. Nobody would accept this kind of hatred being applied against any other religion or race. Where is the moral compass for the Israelis loosing their homes and business income due to terrorist bombing. Anti Semitism and anti Zionism are the same. All Jews have the right to exist and live peacefully in their homes, go to work safely and send their children to school safely. Whether this is in Israel or any country in the world that they live in. The BBC has not applied unbiased, broadcasting it has hounded and systematically applied egregious propaganda ongoing anti Semitism towards Israel, anti Zionism this affects the general population of Jews worldwide as being the truth, when it is nothing more than lies or distorted information that is baseless. It is unethical for a government broadcasting channel to do this. Do you see where I’m coming from. The people that destroy or offend the Jews in your opinion should accept this because people at the bbc may loose their job. That’s unfortunate that that is now a concern and it’s regrettable that the same concerns don’t apply to Jews and Israeli people suffering, every single day from a war started by terrorists, they are defending a tiny country, with global condemnation and criticism from armchair managers. It really is not very difficult to understand the difference between right and wrong. One thing that has been emphasised more than ever since this conflict began is that the decision that Israel become a sovereign state for the Jews was and is imperative for the survival of the Jewish people. Fundamentally anti semitism/anti Zionism/racism is wrong, toxic, vile and heinous especially when it’s used to fuel hatred through ignorance and bigotry.

@@nostro1001 Apartheid Israel is no democracy, as its leading human rights organisation B'Tselem states: "The Israeli regime enacts in all the territory it controls (Israeli sovereign territory, East Jerusalem, the West Bank, and the Gaza Strip) an apartheid regime. One organizing principle lies at the base of a wide array of Israeli policies: advancing and perpetuating the supremacy of one group - Jews - over another - Palestinians. B’Tselem rejects the perception of Israel as a democracy (inside the Green Line) that simultaneously upholds a temporary military occupation (beyond it). B’Tselem reached the conclusion that the bar for defining the Israeli regime as an apartheid regime has been met after considering the accumulation of policies and laws that Israel devised to entrench its control over Palestinians."

The only reason Hamas hasn't been able to carry out such a massacre every day since and accomplish their goals of an actual genocide has been the fact that Israel responded as would every country.
