The Battle of Mogadishu
Ойын-сауық
The Battle of Mogadishu was 18 hours of the most intense urban combat experienced by US troops since the Vietnam War. Unorganized blocks of concrete buildings, sparse trees, and dilapidated shacks topped with corrugated metal made for a chaotic battlefield. The downing of two UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters on Oct. 3, 1993, changed what was supposed to be a fairly straightforward raid into a desperate rescue mission.

I remember seeing this on CNN as a 10 year old kid.
I am from Somalia, Americans like to be Portrayed as a hero , but the reality was very different back then , I remember an old Somali man with 4 soldiers went to the US rangers base which was close to Mogadishu in the night, sneaked into the military base and captured 4 of them , so they told them to go with them , the Americans refused it , unfortunately they were beheaded and the Somali militias took the 4 heads and went back to the city. Americans killed mostly Somali civilians, but they were massacred horribly ,that's why they didn't go back to Somali since 2014. The problem was we knew shooting without learning it , but Americans wanted to kill us without getting injured. Thanks to our Malaysian brothers who evacuated them.

Name of the BGM ?
Aidid is a hero of somalia.
Why did you go there again?
Fun fact: Back in the 1980s Mohamed Farah Aideed owned a 200k dollars house (big amount at the time) in Diamond bar California that he gave to his ex-wife and his 6 children who are all American citizens now. His second wife was living on welfare in Toronto Canada and his kids from that wife became Canadian citizens. Mohammed Farah Aideed made a considerable amount of money trafficking weed from and to India when he was Somalia's ambassador there and through contracts with the Italian government (he was educated in italy back in the 50s). He was a self-serving warlord. If the U.S didn't fall into his traps they wouldn't have lost so many soldiers and became the bad guys in the eyes of the average illiterate Somali camel herder who before the civil war was living in one of the safest countries not only in Africa but in the entire world to the point that the Emire of Kuwait (the minister of foreign affairs back then) would walk around in Mogadishu without guards.

somalia is the true lion of africa
The Somalis at the time I didnt understand.. seems like they needed help but didnt want it and would rather kill eachother and whoever tries to provide help. That doesn't apply to all Somalis, naturally.. just the ones holding guns and power. Enlighten me if I'm misguided but that seems to be a common theme in africa
