That pick he got before the half was played to perfection. He was aggressive with Jones and for a big receiver like that, you gotta front him and put hands on him... The saints struck gold in that 2017 draft. How fortunate are they to have a player of this caliber? Lattimore is a premier CB in the league, arguably the best in all of football. Entering year 3 all I see is more picks, more solid pass defense from this guy. He's a all pro corner. Big things in 2019 for him and that entire saints defense.

Lattimore actually played pretty good! Julio is just a monster though! Lattimore will be a top 3 corner in a couple of years.

He already is, if you look closesly at his technique he already is, or at least top 5, his stats shows it too, he only got an even matchup with julio and even then he had 1 interception. And tbh i don't remember anyone "locking down" julio, the guy is unstoppable

All y'all saying lattimore got cooked is crazy. Julio didn't even get a touchdown which is not a surprise cause lattimore have yet to give one up all season. How many people can say that about their rookie CB? Julio had that nice 38 yard catch but they had to use a rub route to get him open. One of the catches they showed lattimore wasn't even covering him. It was zone coverage and lattimore just came over to make the tackle. Everybody got to keep in perspective that lattimore was coming off an ankle injury that sidelined him for 2 weeks. He still wasn't 100% and his conditioning was off, that's why he kept going to the sideline for oxygen. His first match up back is against one the best WRs in the league. He did a good job.

Penalties killed the Saints tonight. Some of them had me saying WTF but it is what it is. Why Drew Brees threw that pass into coverage in the endzone is beyond me. That was a dumb play call that was unnecessary when they could have run the ball on that play.

That 1v1 mini scuffle on the interception is one of the most interesting DB vs WR matchups i've ever seen. So much subtle hand and footwork from 2 of the best in the game.

Lattimore is incredible. He's got no experience. He's playing off of instinct and absorbing the coaching from Aaron Glenn and Dennis Allen. Only thing stopping him from becoming the next Champ Bailey is if he gets injured. Teams won't even bother throwing at him. And Ken Crawley on the otherside is pretty damn good too.

Final Tally: Julio had 4 receptions for 79 yards when matched up against Shon. Not necessarily lock down, but pretty impressive for a rookie corner who wasn’t conditioned and hadn’t played in 3 weeks. Gg btw, Falcons deserves the dub. Wanted it more. We had a chance if it wasn’t for the Brees int. We gotta regroup, get healthy, and play the Jets in 10 days. #WhoDat

Very Encouraging for the rookie. Julio vs. Rookie you would expect worse. Most of the second half catches are in zone coverage because of that bunch formation that would've allowed pick plays and rub routes. His Man to Man coverage was impressive. Plus the young KID picked off last years MVP and his superstar receiver.

Julio needs to be on the defense as well. He also makes some great pass defenses when Ryan screws up. He jacked up a defender going for a pick pretty good in 2018 I remember.

Great learning experience for our rookie👍

julio isnt out there to get the ball every play like cry baby Antonio Brown is, he's a team player and is willing to do anything even if it means not getting the ball.

Lattimore is a quality corner he holds a lot yes but quality in his technique non the less

Lattimore is still a monster.

My wish is for julio jones to come play for Seattle and win a super bowl with us fingers crossed.

I'll say it, Julio went off on a rookie CB coming back from an injury. I have to say, I'm impressed. Not only with Julio, but with the Falcons as a whole for beating an injured team. Now, only if the Patriots had an injured team in the SB last year.

Why is it so great to watch a rookie, especially one like Lattimore that you know will be great in the future, struggle a little bit against one of the greatest players in the league?

Probably the first time I’ve ever seen julio that mad. Collinsworth was right, he was hot as hell. Also, you really gotta love lattimore’s confidence and game. He pretty much plays press man regardless of anything and everything. He’s probably belichicks favorite corner in the game.

falcons fans yall gotta admit...how julio gonna try and be physical (slappin the face and everything) but when the CB gets physical back he starts begging for flags.

79 of the yards were against Lattimore. Any time your best CB allows 55+ yards, he had a bad game.

Say what you want about this matchup just know the INT came from Lattimore getting the best of Julio 1on1 off the line… if you don’t let him get going the odds are even. Smart play by lattimore

Watching this again, Julio only caught 3 passes on Marshon. One was the back shoulder fade, the other was the 30 yard rub route (that should have been a lot less if tackles were made), and the third catch was the last play of the video. The 2 other catches Julio has in this video aren't in Marshon's zone although the slant that went towards the right side of the field could be argued as Marshon's responsibility even though we see him pass Julio off to the next zone on the play. Other than those 3 catches, one pass was broken up by Marshon (which was weak holding flag on Julios first targer), one went out of bounds, Julio couldnt bring in another pass with Marshon on him, Marshon got an interception, and Marshon was flagged for a holding call where Julio not only pushed Marshon once but also pushed off his facemask which should have at least been offsetting penalties. Marshon did very well for coming off injury and guarding a top 5 wr by holding him to really only 3 catches for about 65 yards and an interception.

I say that game against julio the saints corner back was 50-50
