The Battle of Arnhem - Part 1: Construction - 1/35 WW2 Diorama
As some of you may know my modelling time is limited for a short while but I had a few spare hours yesterday and seeing as I already had the video footage, I thought I'd put together a video showing how I built my Battle of Arnhem diorama.......I'm still in the process of painting and weathering the diorama, so early in the new year when it's all finished I'll upload a part 2 and show you how I did that and the finished diorama.......I hope you enjoy watching and you all have a very merry Christmas and a happy new year......See you in 2023 👍

Whoo thats very nice work

Fantastic, inspirational build as always... The street and building setuo is 1st grade... 😲🍾
It looks so simple. 😉 I know the place very well. As a child we often bin in Oosterbeek. I grew up in Velp. My father is now 95. His brother was at that time in Oosterbeek visiting his fiancee. Unlucky she was one of the many citizens who did lost their life in that battle. Very impressive build of the diorama. 👍🏻
Msterpiece! Level: God

@@CWModelling that explain why your builds look so real and the drawings full of details. I'm a technical designer myself and when I'm on holiday in Cyprus or on a roadtrip in northern Germany I always bring a notebook and a tape measure in case I get some inspiration or see some interesting features. And of cause my Phone to take take pics of things. A creative mind never sleeps 😁
Always top-notch work ! Merry Christmas to you and the family my friend. 👍
That was brilliant work Ian!!! Hot damn I've got a chubby! Happy christmas bud.
Splendid work, my friend! Absolutely love it! Perfection is the word! Best wishes, Ian! :)

Bonjour qu elle marque de peinture pour figurines beau boulot superbe
Excellent! That building would make a fantastic display model without the Stug and the soldiers! Your attention to detail is commendable. I really enjoy your channel and I get a lot of inspiration from what you are doing. Can't wait to see more, its always worth the wait. Oh I almost forgot Merry Christmas to you as well!
Dude, that is so incredible!! I can imagine how much time and effort you put into that. Your work is just amazing. Merry Christmas to you and your family and have a very Happy New Year.
Once again, great stuff, Colin! Where do you find the stl files for your roof shingles, windows and doors? Keep up the great work mate

Thanks.......the stl's are drawn by me using resources like tile manufacturers websites and my own use of CAD 👍
Outstanding work on that diorama, long does it take you to do build something like that? Your detail is first class.
Amazing work, love all the detail. I’ve never done a diorama before and keen to give it a go. Would you considering sharing your 3D files you have? I’ve just bought a resin printer and would love to try them out.

Thanks for watching.........at the moment I don't have a means to share my STL files but later in the year I'll be working on a means of sharing that and a few other things as well, so watch this space👍

@@CWModelling will do. I’ve subscribed so I’ll keep an eye out. Tbh I’ve only ever built 1 tank to date but keen on opening up my horizons and armour/diorama intrigue me.
Looks great! Wondering how you deal with the seam/gap created when joint the perpendicular walls of the house together? Merry Christmas!

Könnten Sie bitte auch ein Fabrik Diorama bauen ? Danke mein Freund Grüße Matze
As usual, stunning work mate. Ive got some foam boards and I'm going to give my own building scratch-building a go - RT Dio and their ilk make a lot of money off me and I'd really like to be able to do it myself. Sounds like it is relatively simple as long as you are careful, plan it properly and measure things out correctly. Mind you, you make it look easier than I bet it is. Ive got a Tamiya Elefant in the stash begging for a Tuscan villa sort of vignette/dio so i'll go back to your Marder video to get some inspiration. PS - what kit is the StuG?

@@CWModelling The Dragon kit, many thanks. Ive got the Takom Blitz Ausf G late in paint now and the RFM G early in the stash - the Dragon looks excellent. Your chipping is really coming along, it looks absolutely sensational.
very nice work super...I would have a question what material you use for the construction of the house,if it would be possible link. Thanks Martin

@@CWModelling Ahh!! I thought this may be the case. How do you work out scale and dimensions? It’s something I’d like to attempt but this scale thing is holding me back. Utterly exquisite work btw
@CWModelling
Жыл бұрын
Hi, firstly I'd suggest getting yourself a 1/35 scale ruler, you can find them on Ebay.......having reference photos is very helpful as you can do things like counting bricks for height and width and work out dimensions from knowing the size of a brick.....measuring doors and windows in your own home will give you an indication of sizes for these which you can use to make a guesstimate for windows and doors in your model.....I also use a 1/35 figure as a reference to get a feel for how things are looking.....and I suppose my biggest tip is to draw out your design first as this allows you to tweak things before you commit to the foam......I think I drew this building three times before it started to look right.....I hope that helps you get started and then its just a case of practicing👍
